Story
Meet Billie — a gentle 2-year-old sweetheart searching for her forever home! Billie was rescued from an Atlanta shelter at the end of August after spending two long months there, shut down and scared. She originally ended up at the shelter when her owner was evicted and left her behind in a backyard kennel. No one knows how long she was alone before animal control arrived, but what we do know is that Billie is blossoming beautifully now that she’s safe. In her foster home, Billie has quickly shown what a loving, sensitive, and clever girl she truly is. She’s eager to please (especially if treats are involved!) and already knows sit, down, and is working hard on stay. Since she previously lived outdoors, potty training was new to her, but she has learned quickly with the help of doorbells to signal when she needs to go out. Billie is crate-trained for when her foster family is away, but she sleeps soundly at night in her cozy bed next to them. She’s still learning that the world is a safe place; quick movements and loud noises can make her anxious, so she’ll need a patient adopter willing to continue helping her build confidence through gentle socialization. Billie is wonderfully dog-friendly, especially with calm, mellow dogs. She shares toys, plays tug, and seems comforted by the companionship of the resident older female dog. Because of this, we believe she would thrive best in a home with another friendly dog to show her the ropes and give her a buddy to cuddle and play with. She has shown no aggression or prey drive toward cats on walks, though she hasn’t been formally cat-tested indoors. She arrived very underweight, but with consistent care and good nutrition, she’s been steadily reaching a healthy size. Billie is a tender, loyal, and resilient girl who just needs a loving family willing to keep helping her grow. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will reward your patience with endless love, Billie might be the perfect match. 💛 Apply to adopt: dcdogos.org/adopt Location: Atlanta, GA

Story
Very loving rescue dog, about 4-5 years old. Excellent guard dog but needs fenced yard if living in neighborhood. We used the invisible fence and it worked well. 100% trained - crate trained, comes to name, house trained, can sit, lay down, shake, etc. No chewing issues and very little shedding. Loves to be loved. We hate to have to rehome him and need to know he will be taken care of.

Story
My son found Annabelle tied up to a tree on the side of the road. She has been with us approximately 1 month. She is definitely young as she has manorisms of a puppy. She is skiddish but she has definitely come around with lots of love. Unfortunately we are unable to keep her. She's a sweetheart and will thrive in a loving home.

Story
I rescued this dog about 7 years ago, someone abandoned her near my house and she started sleeping in my yard, she didn't let anyone near her for two weeks, not aggressive just scared and would run away. When she finally let me pet her she warmed up to me immediately. I think whoever had her before was probably a man that beat her, because besides me and my twin brother, she has never trusted any other men that she has been around. Whether it be family, friends or roommates that she sees everyday, she will growl lightly when they enter the room, but that's it, no aggression whatsoever. She's fine with kids and cats, I have a 4 year old daughter she is very tolerant of my kids high energy, if she ever has enough of it she just simply walks away to go lay down by herself. The only reason I'm getting rid of her is because I don't have enough time or energy to take her on walks and in her old age she needs to go out more often than I am home, I don't have a yard to let her outside in.
