Story
Meet Bear!! This big hunk o’ burning love is the total package! Bear is loving, loyal, friendly and overall just a big goof! He LOVES playing with other dogs as much as he loves cuddling with his favorite people. But beware! He’s a bed hog and he’s been known to snore ;) Bear absolutely loves a car ride. He would be perfect in a secure fenced-in yard or with a person committed to leash walking him, because Bear has a bit of wanderlust. He wants to see the world and if given a chance, he’ll make a run for it! He is house-trained, not at all destructive when left alone, and he’s fully vetted.

Story
Fred! Our sweet, always smiling Fredly. He's such a good boy! Fred was left at a very crowded shelter with all of his (adult) littermates and was the only one to make it out alive :( What we know about Fred since he's been in our care is that he can be resource guard-y with other dogs, NOT with people. We have always been able to take food/toys away from him. He can be a bit nervous with new people, especially men, but honestly it takes him all of 24-48 hours to warm up and then he's a velcro dog! Never wants to leave your side! He is not destructive and is content to just curl up and sleep in bed while you are at work. He is a wonderful cuddler, his head feels like velvet, and he's just a doll of a 53# mutt. No idea what breeds he is, he's just a perfect muttly mix. Fred is almost 4 years old and just waiting for his forever person/family to find him.

Story
PeeWee is a ten year old dog looking for a loving home. I got him in May because his previous owners were going to take him to a kill shelter. He is a very sweet dog who needs a home with someone with patience, he has a problem of marking his territory. He loves cuddles and hugs, and whipped cream is his favorite treat. He does well with children, and okay with other animals, probably better as a solo dog.

Story
A litter of 10 puppies was found in a box at a busy shopping center parking lot at only a few days old. They were lovingly cared for and bottle fed with their brothers and sisters and is now on the search for their forever families. We have some perfect puppy mixes- what they’re mixed with is a total mystery - maybe lab mixes/ maybe sharpei? We did have a dna test sponsored and sent in but cannot guarantee results before adoption. Since we don’t know what they’re mixed with- we can’t say how big they’ll grow but we expect them to be larger dogs as adults, they are currently around 7lbs at 6 weeks old. They are ready to find their forever families and are full of puppy goodness and love to play and snuggle! They’re certain to save their new families from boredom and loneliness as they wiggle their way into your heart. These pups will make great additions to active families. Puppies are a tremendous amount of work and require patience, consistency, love, and more patience. We are setting up meets for these puppies now with approved applications, so make sure to get your application in if you’re looking to adopt! Puppies will be ready to go home around February 10!

Story
Ave D is a sweet, spunky one-year-old girl who’s ready to find the forever home she deserves. She’s a petite ~15 lbs, possibly a Havanese mix, with soft, non-shedding hair - so regular grooming will be part of keeping her looking and feeling her best. Found as a stray and never reclaimed, Ave D is now thriving in foster care in the Chicago south suburbs with the wonderful people who found her and want nothing more than the perfect match for her next chapter. She’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and officially ready to go home. ✨ What her foster family says: • Energetic, playful, and loves toys • Very smart and eager - training should come easily • A bit of a runner, so a secure yard and door awareness are important • Steals socks and clothing (but doesn’t destroy them!) • Mostly potty trained - does well outside and will stand at the door to go out, but still has occasional accidents • Not leash trained yet - on a harness she channels her inner Alaskan sled dog 😄 • Barks like a normal dog when watching the world go by, nothing excessive • Cuddly and affectionate, though not a big fan of being picked up • Great in the car and does well with other dogs, people, and kids Ave D can be a little timid at first - when meeting new people she may roll onto her back and whimper - but once she realizes she’s safe, she pops right up, happy and playful. We think this just shows she’s a gentle soul who’s learning that the world can be kind. 🏡 Ideal home: Ave D would thrive with an active family who enjoys playtime, enrichment, and helping a bright young dog continue building confidence. Someone who understands that patience, routine, and positive training will help her shine. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion with a big personality in a little body, Ave D might just be your girl. 💗
