Meet Sabi!This cutie and her brother spent some time in foster during our storm crisis. Here`s what their foster fam had to say, `We picked them up on Thursday and started potty training the same day. It doesn`t look like they`ve had any training before coming to the rescue. Wabi will sit for milk bones but Sabi says ` just give me the treat`Both dogs love men and women. Right now, Wabi has his head in my husband`s lap. They haven`t been around any other dogs, cats or kids in my home.Their favorite thing to do is run the back yard. They play hard but no sign of aggression. They are good playing with toys and don`t fight over food. They will try to `body` each other out for the most attention. They have been by each others side (and mine) since they got here. They just want love. With a little work, both would be good companions for someone.`This petite lady came in as a stray with another male dog (likely a brother) about a month ago. When she arrived, her coat was in bad shape and she was a bit underweight. She also tested as heart worm positive. Sabi`s heartworm treatment will be covered and administered by us, but she really needs to be in a home (not a stressful kennel) to receive it So far, Sabi hasn`t liked any of the dogs at the shelter except for her brother. At this time, she would likely need to be placed as the only dog in the home. Cats are unknown.Who wants to be Sabi`s hero and give her the life she deserves? Meet S`mores!This cutie was dumped outside of our shelter after hours with three cats. Thankfully they were all found safely by staff (others have not been so lucky). Her three cat-mates have been transferred to Humane Indiana during our crisis.S`more spent a brief period in foster while our power was out. Here`s what her foster fam had to say, `She’s been a really sweet, calm dog. She likes to play. She pulls on leash but doesn’t react when walking by other dogs. She wants to approach all people for pets. She only had one indoor accident so I’d say she’s house trained. She took a lot of crap from my overly hyper adolescent puppy.She loves being pet and cuddling. She appears to be crate trained, goes in easily and sometimes on her own. The only behavior we’re monitoring to determine if this can continue to be a good fit, she appears to resource guard. She collected a lot of toys/bones and growls when our other dog gets too close. Nothing aggressive in the first day but we are monitoring the situation and feeding at separate times.`FemaleYoung Adult 40ish lbs

Meet Bidzil!Bidzil is a goofy guy, he greets dogs well, but is over it after a minute. He would do best with a co-exister or solo.He loves people of all ages! He’s very wiggly and maybe not the smartest kid in class…He would thrive on a great school routine and some extra cuddles!! He also came in on the super skinny side and has little ways to go before looking healthy again so he gets 3 feeds a day.Bidzil came in with vertebrae on his tail exposed. He needs daily tail wrap changes and antibiotics and pain meds given. He will still likely need his tail amputated.He loves to play!! Meet Our J Crew!These eight littles recently came from a puppy mill situation with 98 dogs in total. Here`s what one of the rescues who helped with the initial pull had to say, `A total of 98 dogs have been removed from this puppy mill after being in violation, USDA has shut them down for 6 months, only 6 months. Hours of sorting, documentation, scanning, photos, and driving. We were covered in urine, feces, sweat, anal glands, dealing with heat, humidity, flies, maggots, and a hot box of a barn. The breeder was not there, he is gone 4 days out of the week, THIS is where your cute puppies come from, the ones you find online, and in pet stores. He proudly displays his breeding barn name on a wall above his office. 97 lives saved. one died between last week and this week, we do not know what happened.`All of these guys are very scared and under-socialized. They will need adopters who are patient and can provide lots of positive experiences. Many of them have literally ever been outside or had their feet touch anything other then a wire grate floor. Literally. They had never been fed or watered from bowls. Their interactions with humans were very limited. We are still getting to know each of them as they decompress and will update their profiles as we learn more.---------------------------------------------------Interested in adopting?
