Story
Maggie was previously a friend's dog, who needed to be rehomed when her young child turned out to be allergic. Maggie stayed with her first family from 13 weeks old to just shy of 9 years old. We were told that she was a very nervous dog. She's been with us for about 10 months and we have realized she needs a family with more training and behavior experience. When extremely nervous, she has bitten. Also when nervous she tends to have small accidents (pooping and peeing). She likes to be pet on her terms, and can get nervous if someone tries to pet her too quickly. Also if she thinks she's in any trouble, she tends to get really nervous and evasive. She would likely do best in a quiet house, although she does like kids. She does well with other dogs and cats and seems most nervous around men. She does like to cuddle on her terms and enjoys chewing on bones. She can follow basic commands like sit and stay.

Story
Hi, I'm Violet! I was adopted when I was 12 weeks old, but was recently surrendered by my owner through no fault of my own. I'm a sweet, friendly, and goofy 1-year-old mutt, weighing 45 pounds. I love to cuddle and be around my people. My mom is a lab/beagle mix, and my dad is a border collie/lab mix. My foster says that I am a good girl, and I enjoy going for car rides! I'm housebroken and do well free roaming; I don't like crates. I need a home with older children since I can jump. A fenced-in yard is required. Although I love to walk, I pull and need leash training. I need companionship, so I also need a home where someone is home more. I tend to bolt when doors open, so a storm door and caution are essential. If you let me off leash, I will run....so no off leash for me.  I'm spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines. My adoption fee is $150, and I’m located in Crown Point, Indiana. ##2374629##
