Story
Winston has megaesophagus (an enlarged esophagus) which causes him to vomit or regurgitate food or water if he does not eat or drink upright in a specially made Bailey Chair. There are no surgical options available. Winston recently got aspiration pneumonia after a dental and neuter. He needs his water mixed with a thickener so he can swallow without throwing up. He gets Viagra (Sildenafil) an hour before he eats to help the food get past his esophagus & sphincter to his stomach. He also needs his teeth brushed daily since he's susceptible to aspiration pneumonia. We rescued him from a shelter right before he was going to be euthanized. At just 7 years old, Winston deserves the best care possible, and we’re doing everything we can to support him. Story
Marci is a sweet 10 year old girl (DOB 2/5/15) that came to us as a surrender. She is spayed, UTD with shots, is potty trained, leash trained and is microchipped. She would be great with an older stay at home or work from home person who would love and adore on her all day. She is terrified of children, so an adult only household is a must. Although she is cute as a button, she is very cautious when meeting new people, shows some alpha tendencies and is a great watchdog. Marci is doing well on working through some past trauma but is still terrified of loud noises/lightening/fireworks. A stand alone home would be best for her as she can be quite talkative. She is looking for a very patient and quiet home where she can be herself. Story
Molly is a sweet and friendly 11 year old schnauzer mix who is looking for her next home! If you have kids or other dogs, this girl will get along great with them. She is also house-trained and good on a leash. She currently weights 28 lbs and is working on losing some weight. Molly came to us after her previous owner surrendered her to animal control. Molly is up to date on shots, spayed, de-wormed, micro-chipped, and just had a dental. She did have a mammary tumor removed which was found to be low grade cancer, and the vet advises to keep an eye on the area in the future. Story
Meet Peek-a-Boo! This sweet girl is estimated to be around 9 years old and weighs about 15 lbs. She’s a hypoallergenic mixed breed who was found as a stray in Nevada but, sadly, was never claimed. She’s housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and gets along wonderfully with the resident dogs in her foster home. She doesn’t seem to have a prey drive, so she may do well with cats too. Peek-a-Boo isn’t a big fan of the crate, but she does just fine being penned overnight. She loves spending time with her people, enjoys quiet companionship, and is an excellent napper. She also loves to play with toys. Peek-a-Boo is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She is scheduled for a dental cleaning and removal of a mammary mass—then she’ll be feeling her best. This gentle girl is ready to find a soft spot to land and a loving home to call her own! Story
Pure Perfection: Meet Leo — The Sweet, Mellow Gentleman Pomeranian! Leo is an 8-year-old, 7-pound Pomeranian with a big heart and an even bigger personality. Rescued from a freezing parking lot in Lake Station, Indiana, Leo has blossomed in foster care — and according to his foster, he’s pure perfection. With great vet care, good nutrition, and lots of love, Leo has made a beautiful recovery. His coat is coming in nicely (we’re still managing a few thinning spots), and his adorable build gives him the look of a fluff ball on chicken legs. Leo previously had a grade 3 luxating patella on his left rear leg, but he has since had successful surgery and is doing wonderfully. What makes Leo so special: - 100% housebroken: He vocalizes when he needs to go out — no pee pads needed. - Yard cruiser: A fenced yard is required so he can safely explore his favorite pastime. - Co-exists well with calm dogs: Leo doesn’t engage with other dogs — he truly doesn’t care — and has been peacefully coexisting with his foster’s dogs. He gives a quiet growl if another dog gets too close to his face, so a home with small or calm, respectful dogs could work. - Cuddle bug: Loves being held and being close to his person. - Mellow & gentle: Best suited for a calm home without small children (14+). - Routine lover: Predictability helps him feel secure and relaxed. Leo can be nervous with grooming or vet handling, so he does best when muzzled for vet visits or medical care. With patient, gentle handling — and his safety gear in place — he does wonderfully and recovers quickly from stress. In everyday life, he’s loyal, easygoing, and incredibly sweet. Leo is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, dewormed, and heartworm-negative. If you’re looking for a tiny, loving companion who enjoys peaceful yard time and cozy cuddles afterward, Leo may be your perfect match. Story
Frodo is a 10-year-old Lhasa Apso with a heart as big as his personality. This sweet little guy (just 13 lbs!) is great with other dogs, walks nicely on leash, and loves being with his people. He is also great with kids. He was found as a stray and was not reclaimed. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and dewormed. Frodo does have a heart murmur (grade 5/6), but it doesn’t slow him down one bit — he’s full of life and ready to share it with his forever family. Ready to give this boy his happy ending?
