He was found tied up and abandoned outside our building—scared, timid, and unsure of the world around him. It took a little time and patience, but once he felt safe, his true personality began to shine. With the help of our tech assistant, Doug, Stutterstep found his confidence and blossomed into the goofy, lovable boy he is today. His name, originally inspired by his shy, hesitant walk, has taken on a whole new meaning—now he happily “cha-cha’s” in his kennel when he knows it’s time for a walk! Stutterstep is full of energy and loves to play, bringing laughter wherever he goes with his bouncy, silly personality. He also does well with other dogs and would enjoy having a playful companion. Meet Skye, a sweet nine-month-old Pittie mix who is ready to find her forever home. When Skye first came to us, the world felt overwhelming. She didn’t know how to walk on a leash, was very frightened, and would “gator roll” when touched. It was clear she needed time, patience, and gentle support to decompress and begin building her confidence. Skye often glued herself to the back of her kennel for comfort, but we soon discovered how much she benefits from canine companionship. With confident dogs to role model, Skye has shown wonderful progress and continues to grow braver each day. She’s now learning to walk on a leash, enjoys peaceful walks in the grass, and absolutely melts when she can rest her head in your lap. Skye does great with other dogs, loves to share her toys, and thrives in positive social settings. Skye would greatly benefit from a home with another confident dog and a patient adopter who will continue nurturing her confidence. Dash is a 2½-year-old Husky mix with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! He was found as a stray and luckily, he had a microchip. We had no luck with his owner but found out he was with CACC multiple times in 2025. He has just been in and out of the shelter system for so long. Now, he’s more than ready for stability and a true forever home. Dash is high-energy and loves to go 100 mph. Zoomies are his specialty, and he’ll happily run laps around us on a retractable lead in the field to help burn off that Husky stamina. He thrives on activity and would do best with an active family committed to providing plenty of daily exercise—both physical and mental. Long walks, hikes, runs, puzzle toys, and structured playtime will help this fun-loving guy be his very best self. Because of his high energy, zooms, and being mouthy during playtime, Dash is looking for a home without young children (8+). He does well with other dogs that can appreciate (and keep up with!) his big personality and impressive endurance. Dash is hoping this is the LAST time he ever has to call a shelter home.
