** DO NOT CLICK ON 'START AN INQUIRY'** You must follow the instructions below if interested. Shay is a very gentle and calm doodle. She does not shed. She is housetrained. Could you get more perfect?! She gets along with other dogs but would be fine as an only pup too. She is a little shy at first but warms up quickly and then is your shadow and best friend. She weighs around 45lbs and will not get any bigger. When we got her, she was super matted and so we shaved her - before and after pics are shown so you can see what her fur looks like! All of our pets are located in Houston TX and will not be transported until adopted.  You will get to video chat with the pup once/if your application is approved.  We are not first-come, first-served but rather strive to match dogs to their best fit homes!  If you are interested, you MUST FILL OUT AN APPLICATION at www.recycleddogsrescue.org.  The adoption fee is $850 + transport (if applicable).  We cannot guarantee breed, size, or behavior!

Story
THEO is a very sweet and playful mixed breed dog. He's around 3 mo old and 7lbs but will likely be 20lbs full grown. He's very active and loves to give kisses. He gets along well with other dogs and appears non-reactive to cats (although he does not live with any). He would be fine with small children and adults alike. He enjoys chew toys and bones of all kinds and adores wrestling with anyone who will give him the time of day! He is NOT pottytrained so be prepared to deal with all things puppy (housetraining, chewing, etc). He is a very active puppy and would do best with someone with a lot of time and enregy! He is fostered in Houston TX and will not be transported until adopted. His fee is $850. You may pick him up in Texas or we can discuss flying him to you. The first step in adoption is to fill out an application at www.recycleddogsrescue.org.

Story
Chewbacca is the sweetest little nugget you'll ever meet who is always at your side snuggled up. He's a terrier though, so he can be feisty walking by other dogs on a leash but he's all bark and no bite. He adores his people and would do best in a home with children, another playful small dog and a family who is home often. He does mark inside on occasion but is housetrained most of the time. His fee is $850 - he is located in Houston TX and will transported upon completed adoption. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION IF INTERESTED AT: www.recycleddogsrescue.org/adoption-application

Story
Meet Luna! This sweet girl came to us when her owner could no longer care for her. She's now living it up in a foster home where she's proven to be the cuddliest girl ever! She loves to snuggle on the couch and will happily sleep the day away with you if you let her. Being a senior girl, her days of playing are long behind her and she's looking for a more relaxing lifestyle. Luna is a very polite house guest. Her foster reports that she's incredibly potty trained and is also crate trained and "checks herself in" at night to her crate as to not crowd out her human friends in the bed. Luna has met other cats and dogs, but it seems like she'd prefer to be your only pet. Sharing the spotlight isn't what this superstar wants. Luna also has chronic allergies that will require lifelong medication. Don't let this deter you! Her allergies are well managed on the medication and her itchiness has subsided. Luna adores her foster home, but she's ready to find a more permanent placement where she can retire and live out her golden years. If you're interested in Luna, fill out an application at this link: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ACIL/Dog and make sure to include her name and ID number on the application!

Story
Meet Pepper! After spending a few years with a loving family, Pepper sadly lost her housing. In the shelter, Pepper was a bit too shy to come out of her shell. She lucked out with foster placement where we've seen her personality truly shine. Here's what Pepper's foster has to say about her: "This dog is truly one of a kind. She is sweet, loving, gentle and just wants to be invited to the party. Pepper’s favorite thing is being near her people. If you move rooms, she follows. If you sit down, she quietly leans in like she has always been part of the family. She connects quickly and genuinely with the people she meets, and her gentle nature shows right away. She is medium sized with a short low shed coat and soft, expressive eyes, incredibly sweet and remarkably gentle. She loves people and warms up quickly to new ones. She takes cues very well and responds nicely to direction. She already knows sit, stay, and give paw, and she is eager to please. One of the nicest things we learned about Pepper during foster, is how well she matches the energy around her. If it is playtime, she is excited and ready to go. Toss a ball or grab a rope toy and she is all in. If the house is calm, she settles right along with it and relaxes nearby. She is fully potty trained and crate trained. When she is ready to rest, she walks right into her crate on her own and settles comfortably. On walks she does well and enjoys getting out to explore. Pepper has also been wonderful with the other dogs she has met so far. She is a curious little thing that sniffs everything and will try different foods - has not met a food she dislikes yet! Pepper would do beautifully with someone who wants a dog that is affectionate, responsive, playful, and calm when it is time to unwind. An individual or a family - she is just happy to be invited to the party. If you are looking for a loyal dog who will bond quickly and bring warmth into your home, Pepper is the dog you have been waiting for." Pepper is hoping that her next home will be forever. Interested in adopting? Fill out an application at this link: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/ACIL/Dog Make sure to include her name and ID number in the application. A staff member will reach out to you shortly about setting up a meet and greet.

Story
Meet Luna! This senior gal is looking for a quiet, calm home to retire in. Luna lived in her previous home for all of her 8 years so it may take her some time to adjust to a new situation. Sweet Luna is gentle, polite on leash, and very potty trained. She doesn't make a mess at home, but she may be vocal when she misses her companions - Luna loves to be around her people all the time. Luna is a Special Care pet due to needing long term medication for anxiety. Her adopter will receive a discount for services with our recommended vet behaviorist. Luna has all the love in the world to give in exchange for a home to live out her golden years. If you have a soft spot for a sensitive soul, adopt our Luna today! Interested in adopting? Swing by our downtown Chicago adoption center at 510 N. LaSalle, to meet these sweethearts in person. We offer same-day adoptions, free parking, and guide you through the process from start to finish! Learn more about hours and the adoption process at https://anticruelty.org/adopt-info.
