Story
Thor is truly a gentle giant!  This sweet big boy has been described as friendly, affectionate, goofy and eager to please. He's a very heavy chewer and is a champion at destroying toys, balls, and yak bones.  He loves things that squeak, playing tug and keepaway, and his chews.  He also loves to lay outside and take in the scenery when the weather is nice.  Thor is incredibly patient, his foster dog friends like to hop all over him but he takes it in stride and only moves when it's his idea. He has some weakness in his hindquarters and prefers to play in short bursts, take short walks, and needs lots of rest.   Thor was recently diagnosed with GOLPP (Geriatric Onset Laryngeal Paralysis Polyneuropathy). GOLPP is a common clinical condition affecting geriatric, large-breed dogs in which the laryngeal innervation degenerates over time. Affected dogs exhibit respiratory stridor, exercise intolerance, dyspnea, throat clearing, and may even collapse. Because of this, Thor won't be your hiking buddy but he'll definitely love spending time with you in the home and relaxing out of the heat. Dogs can live several years with this condition while others can survive months. Thor does cough and have a weakened back end but still in great spirit. Ideal home; no stairs and mostly carpeted. Relaxed home that isn't seeking an energetic companion. Cats: Thor has lived with cats in the past and has been very friendly. Like we said - gentle giant! Dogs: Yes.  Thor currently lives with another dog and does well. Kids: Yes Potty Trained: Yes Thor will give a soft bark at the door when he needs to be let out. Adoption Fee: $75 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us.            Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine, heartworm test and microchip. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Story
Have you seen a cuter face?! Mooshu was surrendered because the child became allergic and let me tell you, the family was DEVASTATED because he is a gem! He's the perfect addition to any home. Age: 14 Breed:  Japenese Chin Weight: 12lbs Kid-friendly: He is great with kids! Dogs: Yep, does good with dogs his size. Cats: Totally fine Crate trained: Yes but doesn't need it Potty trained: Yes! Likes: He LOVES to be pet and loved on! He enjoys any and all things with his people. He also enjoys laying outside and enjoying the fresh air. We recommend a fenced in yard. Health concerns: He did have some diarrhea due to the change in a new home so we recommend a bland diet until he gets adjusted. Also, very minimal dry eye that he'll need drops for occasionally. Adoption fee: $375 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us.      Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). Story
Lucy is a gem!  She's the sweetest mellowest dog.  She loves greeting people, likes to greet other dogs - she sniffs and is interested but then goes on her way.  She's very quiet, she's only barked 3 times - which was because she was angry she wasn't getting human food during dinner time.  She loves her soft sided kennel - it's her favorite spot.  She likes to sleep by herself at night in the kennel, pet bed or on a blanket.  She'll jump on the couch with you and snuggle away - she will paw you in case you slack off on petting her.  She's perfectly potty trained.  Loves to go for short walks, and loves to 'sun bath' even in the hot temps.   Lucy is looking for someone to spoil her as that's what she's used to. Name: Lucy Age: 15 Sex: Female Spayed/Neutered: Spayed Breed: Poodle Shitzu mix Potty-Trained: yes Crate-Trained:yes Dog-Friendly:yes Cat-Friendly:yes Kid-Friendly:yes Adoption fee: $325 Current Health Concerns (if applicable):May have food allergies and ligament in back hind leg has had surgery Current Medications (if applicable): Apoquel Reason for Surrendering: This is not our dog, it is our elderly mother's dog.  We live in CO.  Our mother had to be put into assisted living and unfortunately, isn't mobile enough at this time to take care of Lucy.   As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us.      Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine and if able, a microchip. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans.
