Story
You may not have heard of Captain Patch Sparrow (73 lbs) yet, but he’ll quickly steal your heart and leave an everlasting mark on your memory once you’ve corrected that mistake. He came to us as a stray, but we’ve learned that he’s an absolute sweetie who’s very versatile when it comes to your daily agenda. Walkies? Check. Cuddles with a stuffed toy? He’ll make you swoon with his gentle goofiness. Play time in the yard? Watch him wind up his wiggles and go, go, go!He’s a lot of excitement in an equally large package, so he’s looking for sturdy family members who can be on board with helping him to develop and maintain his best behaviors, as well as show him the best sniffin’ spots available on your walks! Because of his history as a stray, we can’t predict how he’ll be around other animals, but we’d love to set up a meeting between him and any resident dog/s for you during our open hours Wednesday-Sunday 12-4:30 (Thursday 12-6:30). Don’t worry about bringing the rum, though; he much prefers cheese. You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. HUDSON (male) came from a litter of 7. 5 girls; 2 boys. Mama is a white shepherd-type dog about 40#. Daddy was probably the local Casanova, maybe a Border Collie mix. These pups were born on the first night we had freezing weather and 2 courageous ladies went out in the cold and caught the stray mama and her 7 puppies and brought them to our rescue. DOB 1/17/26. They are all playful and very happy. They have great color and a tail that curls over her back. They currently are about 13-16# and will probably be about 30-40# when grown. They are all spayed/neutered, vaccinations including Rabies, Bordetella, 3-4 DAPP. These will be great family dogs. Like most puppies, they do bark … not good for an apartment. They are used to be in kennels as well as being in the puppy pen outside. This is a great deal!!! Get in on the ground floor and adopt now so that the family can bond and have fun for the summer! Look at our YouTube Videos: April Puppies #1 https://youtu.be/m5GpCnts49c April Puppies #2 https://youtu.be/Q1ane0ehd50 This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you will have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. Story
Calling all connoisseurs of distinguished doggos! We’d like to invite you to enjoy Whiskey, a gorgeous dark amber pup of six years (and some change), and a good weight of 68lbs. Of particular note for her: those ears. As expressive as her sweet chocolate eyes, those ears will always give you a hint about her mood, whether she’s on alert to the mailman at the front door, or laid back and relaxed during couch cuddles. Whiskey is on the lookout for a quiet and casual home for herself, where she can really embrace the balance between brisk walks with her people, and lazy time in the home. She loves going into the car for ambling drives and has a few good tricks in her repertoire to dazzle you with. If you’re on her list of preferred people, that means you’ve invested the time to help her get comfortable, and you have a friend for life. She’s a little selective about the company she keeps, so let’s have a discussion about helping her to get settled with other animals in the home. Why not come by to meet her during our open walk-in hours Wed – Sundays, 12pm to 4:30pm (extended hours until 6:30pm Thursdays)? Story
This handsome guy is Kirby (51 lbs). Kirby`s been our guest for eight months, so we`ve gotten to know this bouncy good boy a lot better now! He believes in experiencing life to its fullest, usually with a good rugged chew bone in the sunny play yard. He`s joyfully exuberant, and if you happen to have a little bit of cheese, you`ve got a new bestie in him! He loves to explore along the way during walks, which also gives him the perfect opportunity to practice some of his best tricks - for a treat, of course. When it comes to other dogs, he`s honestly a bit awkward, but he may be able to settle down with another mellow dog. We can`t predict how he`d get along with any other animals in the home, but we`d love to have a conversation with you about it, after you`ve had the chance to meet him for yourself. If you`d like to meet this sweet boy and get to know him a little better, stop by the adoption center Wednesday-Sunday 12-4:30 (Thursday 12-6:30). Story
You don`t have to ask Mackerel (45 lbs) to say `cheese` twice to catch that sweet grin of his! Brought to us as an owner surrender due to a move, he’s becoming well known for being super playful with friends, and committed to forming strong bonds with those that he’s familiar with. At just a little over four years old, he’s still got a lot of pep in his steps, so we expect that he’ll do well with a dog who can meet him on that same level. Mackerel is very active and loves to go on walks or short to mid distance runs. He enjoys wide open spaces and chasing squirrels. Mackerel loves company and would be great in a house where one of the owners works from home. He is a very cuddly dog and will likely crawl into your lap given the chance. He’s been friendly enough with cats in his previous home, and while he’s never lived with children, he’s demonstrated genuine curiosity for them whenever he’s run into them. Come on in to get a glimpse of that infamous smile for yourself during our open hours of 12 pm – 4:30pm Wed - Sundays (6:30pm Thursdays), and maybe even fill out an application before you head out.You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221

Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. ELLIE is a sweet female and needs TLC. She weighs about 30#; DOB 11/1/25. Will probably get to be 45-50# when grown. She is cream and white with her paws having some light red speckles. We believe she is Lab mix. A DNA test would help. She is happy and playful. Loves to be with other dogs and is not aggressive towards cats. She just thinks cats are like the Duracell Bunny…they keep on going. We are working on house training as well as leash training. She has learned to deal with stairs (not always something that comes naturally to a dog). She loves to go outside with the rest of the dogs. ELLIE deserves a family, kids, walks, hikes, swimming, and anything else you like to do.
