Story
We adopted Khari on our honeymoon and she has been such a special addition to our family ever since. Shortly after getting married, we found out we were expecting our first child. After having our son, I experienced severe postpartum depression, and we made the decision to move back to my hometown to be closer to my parents and support system.Unfortunately, that transition also meant moving into an apartment, which hasn’t been the ideal environment for Khari, especially now with a busy toddler and recently welcoming our second child. We love Khari deeply and have since the day we brought her home, which is what makes this decision so difficult. At this point, we feel like we aren’t able to give her the life she truly deserves. She deserves space to run, play, and thrive, and we know an apartment without a yard isn’t the best fit for her long term. Our hope is to find her a loving home where she can get the time, attention, and space she deserves.

Story
Lucy is a spirited, energetic pup who wants to flat out run. She is very sweet and has had what training we could manage. She is my late mother’s dog and unfortunately we can’t keep her due to allergies. She will need some work but is a smart and trainable pup for the right person.YouTube link: (Because the site keeps erasing it from the proper spot)https://youtu.be/8Lm3H8x4Vnc?feature=shared

Story
You may not have heard of Captain Patch Sparrow (73 lbs) yet, but he’ll quickly steal your heart and leave an everlasting mark on your memory once you’ve corrected that mistake. He came to us as a stray, but we’ve learned that he’s an absolute sweetie who’s very versatile when it comes to your daily agenda. Walkies? Check. Cuddles with a stuffed toy? He’ll make you swoon with his gentle goofiness. Play time in the yard? Watch him wind up his wiggles and go, go, go!He’s a lot of excitement in an equally large package, so he’s looking for sturdy family members who can be on board with helping him to develop and maintain his best behaviors, as well as show him the best sniffin’ spots available on your walks! Because of his history as a stray, we can’t predict how he’ll be around other animals, but we’d love to set up a meeting between him and any resident dog/s for you during our open hours Wednesday-Sunday 12-4:30 (Thursday 12-6:30). Don’t worry about bringing the rum, though; he much prefers cheese. You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221

Story
This handsome guy is Kirby (51 lbs). Kirby`s been our guest for eight months, so we`ve gotten to know this bouncy good boy a lot better now! He believes in experiencing life to its fullest, usually with a good rugged chew bone in the sunny play yard. He`s joyfully exuberant, and if you happen to have a little bit of cheese, you`ve got a new bestie in him! He loves to explore along the way during walks, which also gives him the perfect opportunity to practice some of his best tricks - for a treat, of course. When it comes to other dogs, he`s honestly a bit awkward, but he may be able to settle down with another mellow dog. We can`t predict how he`d get along with any other animals in the home, but we`d love to have a conversation with you about it, after you`ve had the chance to meet him for yourself. If you`d like to meet this sweet boy and get to know him a little better, stop by the adoption center Wednesday-Sunday 12-4:30 (Thursday 12-6:30). Story
Meet Teddy Graham (69 lbs)! This handsome guy came to us without a lot of history, so we`re taking our time getting to know him, and helping him to get settled in with lots of fetch in the play yard, and scrumptious treats. He appreciates slower paced introductions when it comes to getting to know new friends, and he may need a little extra time to feel comfortable. But once that’s out of the way, he’s ready to jump around and show you his extra favorite purple rolly-ball.Since we don’t know a lot about his history, we`re unsure how he’ll do in a home with cats or kids. If you already have a dog, our adoptions team can set up a meet-and-greet to see how they get along! We’ll be updating Teddy’s profile as we learn more about him. Would you like to get to know Teddy Graham? Stop by our adoption center Wednesday–Sunday: 12:00–4:30 PM (Thursday: 12:00–6:30 PM)You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221

Story
Pearls take time and patience to achieve their lustrous glow and size, and at 2 years of age, our sweet Pearl (62 lbs) has grown to her full glorious black and tan proportions! She comes to us due to an unfortunate death in the family, along with her friend Momo. While she’s initially a little shy about meeting new friends, some patience and delicious string cheese can forge strong bonds between you all! She’s a sweetheart when she’s at ease, and enjoys a good walk in the sunshine where she gets to explore. While we’re not sure of how she feels about other animals or smaller children in her home, our Adoptions team has many suggestions for making sure that everyone feels at ease together. Want to meet Pearl and see if she’s a match for your family? Visit our adoption center Wednesday-Sunday: 12:00-4:30 PM (Thursday: 12:00-6:30 PM)You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221(Adoptions Category: Lilac)
