Hi there, they call me Whiskey and I`m a 60 pound 5 year old babe with ears for days! As you can see, my ears stand straight up when I`m alert. They will lay flat if I`m nervous or relaxed, which gives me many different `looks` so you`ll never tire of my cute face! I can be a little skittish around new people and new places, so please be patient and gentle when we first meet. Once we`re besties, I love neck scratches and, if you do it right, I`ll probably flop over some belly rubs! I like to play with toys too and make silly noises sometimes. I got adopted a while back, but my person had to move to a smaller space and there wouldn`t be room for me. With my person, I got to go on walks every day, lounge on the couch or bed, and play with my favourite squeaker duck! There was a cat there too, and I did ok, but if you have a cat at your place, our staff will suggest a good way to be sure we can co-exist peacefully. This handsome guy is Kirby (50lbs). He was brought in as a stray from the Town of Ithaca, so we unfortunately don`t know much about his history in a home. Here at the shelter, he absolutely loves playing with toys and chewing on them in the company of his volunteer friends. He is a very smart boy and has learned a lot since coming here! Olive is a 60-pound girl who was brought in as a friendly stray. The kind people that found her held onto her for a couple days and Olive got to hang out with some younger kids (1, 9 and 10) and did well with them. There was also another dog in the home, however, they didn`t care for sharing their space with Olive. If you have another dog in the home, once all the humans in the home meet Olive, we`ll set up a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs to see how they get along. Say hello to Baxter (49 lbs), a lively young man who`s always up for a good walk! He came to stay with us because the family he was with unfortunately couldn`t keep him. He’s crate trained and will be all too happy to point out the most fascinating smells on your walks together. We know that he’s lived with dogs previously, but we’d still love to set up a meet and greet between your dog and him. Meet Blair (60 lbs)! This sweet girl came to us as a stray from downtown Ithaca. Here at the shelter, she walks very well on a leash and loves cuddling with our volunteers. Her favorite thing in the world is cheese. Since we don’t know her history in a home, we`re unsure how she’ll do in a home with cats or kids.
