Story

We adopted Khari on our honeymoon and she has been such a special addition to our family ever since. Shortly after getting married, we found out we were expecting our first child. After having our son, I experienced severe postpartum depression, and we made the decision to move back to my hometown to be closer to my parents and support system.Unfortunately, that transition also meant moving into an apartment, which hasn’t been the ideal environment for Khari, especially now with a busy toddler and recently welcoming our second child. We love Khari deeply and have since the day we brought her home, which is what makes this decision so difficult.At this point, we feel like we aren’t able to give her the life she truly deserves. She deserves space to run, play, and thrive, and we know an apartment without a yard isn’t the best fit for her long term. Our hope is to find her a loving home where she can get the time, attention, and space she deserves.

Zora (55 lbs) is a glorious bundle of exuberance and eagerness to explore, and her zeal for life is sure to inspire glee wherever she goes! Zora joins our amazing roster of dogs due to time constraints for her family, but they knew that she’d have little difficulty making new friends to dazzle. At a little over ten months old, Zora still has much to learn about the world around her, so she’s looking for patient but equally fun-loving cohorts to help guide her to the best version of herself. This handsome guy is Kirby (51 lbs). Kirby`s been our guest for eight months, so we`ve gotten to know this bouncy good boy a lot better now! He believes in experiencing life to its fullest, usually with a good rugged chew bone in the sunny play yard. He`s joyfully exuberant, and if you happen to have a little bit of cheese, you`ve got a new bestie in him! He loves to explore along the way during walks, which also gives him the perfect opportunity to practice some of his best tricks - for a treat, of course. When it comes to other dogs, he`s honestly a bit awkward, but he may be able to settle down with another mellow dog. We can`t predict how he`d get along with any other animals in the home, but we`d love to have a conversation with you about it, after you`ve had the chance to meet him for yourself. Welcome Oozo (58 lbs), who joins us due to unfortunate health issues for his person, who truly wanted what’s best for this gentle boy. When out on a walk, Oozo gets a little startled by new noises in his world, but he recovers swiftly and resumes his investigations on the go. We`ve also learned that he`s got impeccable leash manners! He finds cats a little too exciting, so he’d probably do best in a feline-free environment. He`d likely get alone well with another chill canine friend, but unfortunately we don’t know how he feels about hanging out with smaller children. Just shy of two years old, Teddy Graham came to us initially as a stray, but overtime has opened up and shown us just how wonderful he can be. He’s a huge fan of chasing sturdy KONG balls around the yard and splashing into our newly donated dog pool on the patio. He’s known to savor a leisurely stroll out and about with his friends, pausing to enjoy a good hearty sniff around before heading in for a treat and some cool water.Teddy Graham is looking for a home where he can be your one and only, and he’s looking for friends who are willing to let him drive the pace of getting to know each other before he can relax and show you his favorite purple rolyball. Zeke is a boy who appreciates life on the go, go, go! He’s a big guy (77 lbs) with an even bigger heart and love of stuffed toys that he’d like to share with you. He’s been known to get along with similarly friendly, bouncy dogs, but we’re not sure how he’d do around other animals in the home. He’s on the lookout for someone who loves rambling walks (with plenty of pauses for a good sniff or three) and can appreciate a very good boy who knows how to ‘sit’ for a treat.
