Story
Jimmy's original owners house burned down when he first got there at 8 weeks old. I have been unable to get a response from them on taking him back and it has been over a year. He is a very sweet young pup. His 1 year birthday was in September. He is good with my cat and my children. He is a "velcro" dog and loves to cuddle. He would be best in a home without other dogs, as he resource guards his food. My dog is older and I cannot take on the added training. He would do great somewhere he can get a lot of attention. He is mostly potty trained and crate trained but he does have accidents when you leave. He knows basic commands like sit and down and crate. Does well on a harness.

Story
This handsome guy is Kirby (51 lbs). He`s been a guest with us for nearly five months now, so we`ve gotten to know this bouncy good boy a lot better now! He`s especially enamored with his big comfy blankets, especially on super chilly days! He`s joyfully exuberant, and loves to play with toys, and if you happen to have a little bit of cheese, you`ve got a new bestie in him. When it comes to other dogs, he`s honestly a bit awkward, but he may be able to settle down with another mellow dog. We can`t predict how he`d get along with any other animals in the home, but we`d love to have a conversation with you about it, after you`ve had the chance to meet him for yourself. If you`d like to meet this sweet boy and get to know him a little better, stop by the adoption center Wednesday-Sunday 12-4:30 (Thursday 12-6:30). Story
Is your favorite time of day that gorgeous transition between sunset and dusk? Then come say hello to Twilight, a sweetly shy gal who`s learning how to be brave. She came to us with her sibling Oreo, and while she`s reported to have had some living experiences with other animals in the home, we`ll still go over some guidelines for successful introductions. As an eight month old pup, she`s got a lot of zoom under the hood that likes to come out when she`s in the play yard, but she`s taking the time to learn her manners with our volunteers, and is a delight on the leash with them. Come by to meet her at our adoption center Wednesday-Sundays: 12:00 PM-4:30 PM (Thursday: 12:00-6:30 PM)You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221

Story
Calling all connoisseurs of distinguished doggos! We’d like to invite you to enjoy Whiskey, a gorgeous dark amber pup of six years (and some change), and a good weight of 68lbs. Of particular note for her: those ears. As expressive as her sweet chocolate eyes, those ears will always give you a hint about her mood, whether she’s on alert to the mailman at the front door, or laid back and relaxed during couch cuddles. Whiskey is on the lookout for a quiet and casual home for herself, where she can really embrace the balance between brisk walks with her people, and lazy time in the home. She loves going into the car for ambling drives and has a few good tricks in her repertoire to dazzle you with. If you’re on her list of preferred people, that means you’ve invested the time to help her get comfortable, and you have a friend for life. She’s a little selective about the company she keeps, so let’s have a discussion about helping her to get settled with other animals in the home. Why not come by to meet her during our open walk-in hours Wed – Sundays, 12pm to 4:30pm (extended hours until 6:30pm Thursdays)? Story
You might not like the flavor of black licorice, but wait until you`ve met this dynamic guy who`s an absolute sweet treat! Licorice (40lbs) came to us when his owners had to move and sadly couldn`t take him with them. At just five months old, he`s already got a few tricks under his belt, and as long as you`re not a vacuum, he`s interested in getting to know you! He`s very friendly, but he`ll need to get to know you before he`s going to show you his favorite blanket or ball. We know that he`s lived with kids and other dogs, but we`d still love to set up a separate meet and greet for any current resident canines. Come by to meet him at our adoption center Wednesday-Sundays: 12:00 PM-4:30 PM (Thursday: 12:00-6:30 PM)You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221

Story
Is there a doctor in the house? No, but there’s a Doc in the Dog Wing! Surrendered to us when his family realized that they couldn’t give him the fullest amount of attention that he deserved, he’s now waiting patiently for his next interview - with you, maybe? He’s very happy to meet new friends, but sometimes in his excitement, he forgets how wonderfully big he is (62 lbs). He’s done best in partnerships with other calm and friendly dogs, but we’re not sure how he’d do with cats. Why not come by and see if he’s the specialist for you during our open hours Wed - Sunday: 12:00pm - 4:30pm (extended hours until 6:30pm Thursdays)You can also reach our adoptions team:by email: adoptions@spcaonline.comby phone (during open hours): 607-257-1822 x221
