Story
Me and my teammates in college adopted smokey about over a month ago. We fell in love with smokey right away as he was the cutest most playful puppy ever. Smokey is now 4 months old and it has been a struggle to give him all his needs because we are all student athletes. I am looking for a stable good caring owner that can aid smokey with all his needs such as, a home where he can play, get trained and someone to take care of him for most of the day. We really did not want to put up Smokey for adoption but it is best for him because we are busy students that find it a struggle to take care of him all the time.

Story
Buttons is deaf, but this does not limit him in any way. He is resilient, sweet, and so smart. He knows a lot of commands, as he went through an 8 week training with a very thorough and talented trainer through the New Leash on Life program. However, since Buttons is deaf, he will be dependent on his person/people to be his ears and guide. He will stick close to his person/people at all times. He loves to be close and that is partly out of just being a sweet, loving, loyal buddy and for his comfort and security.Buttons is also very independent when it comes to play. He doesn't choose to spend his time playing with the other dogs in the foster home, and is most content chewing on Nyla Bones and lying on the couch beside his foster mom. His absolute favorite thing is sunshine and light. His sense of sight is so heightened and he is happiest sitting in the sun. A fenced-in yard would be ideal for him, as it would keep him safe, secure and able to spend as much time outside as he would like. He loves to sunbathe! As soon as he gets up in the morning, after a potty break, his favorite thing to do is sit on the couch and watch and occasionally chase the sunlight coming in from the windows. He will also chase a laser light, so he is basically a large, precious cat!Speaking of cats, he is very curious about the cats in the home with him and can get very fixated on them. So, unless the cats can be fully kept separate, it will most likely be better that he is not in a home with cats. It is very important that his person/people are patient with Buttons, since they will be his ears and he feels most secure being in the same room with his person/people at all times, except when he is in his crate. He was crated during his time in training and since he has been fostered. He does well in the crate and settles in pretty quickly. He will bark for a short period of time, but that should lessen once he is assured and comfortable that his person/people are coming back. He is also great and content sleeping with his person/people.Won't you consider giving Buttons a chance? He truly is a special, loving boy!If you are interested in adopting this animal please fill out an application at heartofthefoothills.org/adopt. You can email us at adopt@heartofthefoothills.org

Story
This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue for information. Contact information is provided below.Adrian is a 3-year old American Bulldog. She is spayed and fully up to date on her shots and health checks. She also has papers to be registered. Adrian is very sweet and very protective with humans. She has gotten along well with other bullies. However, she has shown aggression with other dogs outside of her own breed. When the incidents happened, it was around food or close spaces. She would be perfect in a home with a couple or someone that travels. She loves to be on the go. She is crate trained. If you are interested in Adrian, please contact Leah Haney at 704-214-0076.

Story
Hi! My name is Donut! Cute, huh? I was born on June 14, 2022. I was adopted from Heart of the Foothills as a puppy, but then ended up at the animal shelter in another county. The shelter contacted Heart since they were listed on my microchip. They were not able to ever reach my adoptive parents, so I went back to Heart and have been there ever since.I'm an Australian Shepherd, so I'm very sweet, but also very high energy. My very favorite thing to do is run around outside. I could run forever! I'd really love a home with a fenced in yard to help keep me safe while I explore and play. I also really love my swimming pool!I'm a very smart guy; I know several commands. I am friendly with other dogs, so if you already have a pup, I'd love to make friends with them! I would do best in an active household with older children. I'm still a young dog, so sometimes I don't understand my strength. I'm very friendly, but I may be a little much for a small child. I currently weigh about 50 pounds; I shouldn't get too much bigger, no more than about 60.I'd really love a home of my own with my very own forever family. If you're looking for a new best friend, please give me a chance! If you are interested in adopting this animal please fill out an application at heartofthefoothills.org/adopt.
