Story
Lily is a 3-year-old pit bull mix with a big personality and an even bigger love for life. She enjoys running and playing, chasing the ball, soaking up lots of pets, and then settling in for a well-deserved afternoon nap. Snacks are definitely one of her favorite things! Lily is an active girl who would make a wonderful walking, hiking, or running buddy. She follows commands, is housebroken, and appreciates having some independence while still enjoying quality time with her people. She would thrive best in an adult-only home where she can be the center of attention. Lily has not been around children and would do best with adults who can match her energy and give her plenty of playtime. She prefers to be the only dog in the home, as she can become jealous and territorial around other dogs. Domestic cats are okay, though she may occasionally try to chase them. Lily is looking for a home where she can truly be the princess she is—loved, active, and spoiled just a little.

Story
This is George. George is a Saint Bernard/Great Pyrenees mix and weighs apprx 115-120 lbs. For close to 2 years, George was being starved living off portions of table scraps (when he was allowed to eat at all). He had basically NO shelter from the elements. What little water he had was muddy and not drinkable. He attempted to get water off of a small tin roof when it rained that barely covered his living area (which was chained to a post and unable to move past approximately 5 feet). George would be punched and kicked by the father and kids of the family. He was severely underweight. He is a beautiful soul who simply needs understanding, patience, and time to adjust to a new environment. He will not be a lap dog or cuddle buddy. He shows great affection but also needs his alone time to just hang out and not be smothered. He will lay at your feet while you do the dishes and lay on the floor and watch tv with you. He tends to follow the temperament of the Pyrenees in him.

Story
Houston was adopted from Happy Tails Rescue 4 years ago. I reached out to them first, but have not received a response. He is an indoor dogs, but needs a fenced in yard to run around and play. He has been trained to stay off furniture, out of the kitchen and bedrooms, and not allowed upstairs. He is up to date on shots as of June 27, 2025, has his 3-year rabbies certificates, 2 months of heartworm medication left (tested negative). I have a large dog bed and crate. He's a little skittish by people and cars when on walks, but he is good on a leash.

Pharaoh Hound Pitbull Boxer Mix

Female, Young
Hickory, NC
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Piper is a Pharaoh Hound-Pit Bull mix and came from an abusive family. She was both caged and chained within the cage in a confined area where she could barely turn around. She was fed table scraps if she was fed anything at all and was starved to the point that she had no choice but to consume her own poo to stay alive. What little water she had was muddy and not drinkable. Fast forward to today and you are looking at one of the most affectionate, healthy animals who loves everybody. Piper is crate trained and weights approximately 35 pounds and will not get any larger. She is a high energy dog and would be great with kids. Piper is a hugger and would make a great indoor family dog. She does not like thunder, gun shots or fireworks. She loves to play keep away with her toys. She seems to be good with other dogs, but would not be a good fit with cats or other small animals. Piper will be a cuddle buddy. Piper is a resilient survivor and deserves the very best!
