Story
Meet Casa Casa came to us under heartbreaking circumstances with his two housemates, who have since found their forever homes. When their owner was evicted, Casa and his furry friends were left behind with no one to care for them.At one point, all of them were well-loved, and we could see it in their gentle spirits and healthy appearances. Thankfully, they hadn’t been alone for long before they were rescued, and they’ve been showing us nothing but love ever since. Our staff and volunteers have spent time getting to know this sweet boy, and here’s what we’ve discovered:* Gentle and sweet-natured – One volunteer even called him the “perfect dog.”* Housebroken – Casa keeps a tidy kennel and prefers to potty outside.* Knows basic commands – He already knows how to sit and is treat-motivated* Gets along with other dogs – Though he prefers more independent play* A bit of a toy hoarder – He likes to steal all the toys away from his furry friends. * May prefer a female-led household – During a recent meet-and-greet with a couple, Casa showed a preference for the wife and was not a fan of the husband, so he might be a ladies’ man at heart.Casa would thrive in a loving home where he can be the center of attention. He’d do well with another dog who doesn’t mind his toy-stealing antics, or as an only dog where he can have all the toys to himself! A household with women or a female primary caregiver may be the best fit for this handsome boy.If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle spirit and a heart full of love to give, Casa might be your perfect match. Come meet him at the shelter (??430 Bristol Dr., Statesville, NC).

?? Meet Zuko: The Bestest Boy! ??This handsome 3-year-old shepherd/husky mix came to us as a stray, and he`s ready to find his forever home! Zuko is already a star—he knows how to sit and wait patiently for a tasty treat, showcasing his sweet and gentle nature. When Zuko met another dog at the shelter, his tail was wagging wildly, and he was remarkably tolerant of the other dog`s high-energy and playful jumping around. It just shows how easygoing and patient he is! We can totally see him fitting right into a loving home.If Zuko sounds like the perfect addition to your family, we`d love for you to come meet him at the shelter!*Before adopting, we always recommend meet-and-greets with other dogs and children who will reside in the same household to ensure it`s a good fit.*

Story
Meet Honey-Bun This sweetheart is as sweet as her name suggests! Honey-Bun came to us as a stray after being found running in the roadway when our officer arrived. Since arriving, she’s been an absolute sweetie at the shelter, and we’re head over heels for this little love bug.Honey-Bun is a Work in Progress (And That’s Okay!)Here’s the thing about our girl Honey-Bun: she’s basically an adorable, wiggly blank slate just waiting for someone patient and loving to help her discover how amazing she is.What we’ve learned about her so far:?? Tiny but mighty – At just 31 lbs, she’s perfectly portable! ?? Leash training needed – Honey-Bun doesn’t know how to walk on a leash yet, but she’s learning! Thankfully, she’s small enough to carry when needed.??Cautiously curious with other dogs – When she met another dog at the shelter, she was a little nervous at first and let him sniff her. But after a few minutes? ZOOM! She started zooming around like the playful pup she is.?? Building confidence – During her time with our dog enrichment volunteer Caroline today, Honey-Bun was nervous and hesitant to leave her kennel. She walked a little as she got used to the leash, but needed to be carried back. She’s taking baby steps, and that’s perfectly okay!Honey-Bun needs a patient, loving home that understands she’s still figuring out this whole “pet life” thing. She needs someone who will:? Teach her that leash walks are fun, not scary? Show her everyday experiences with kindness and encouragement? Give her the time and space to blossom at her own pace? Love her through the nervous moments and celebrate the breakthroughsIf you have the patience, love, and dedication to help this beautiful girl discover her best life, come meet her at the shelter (430 Bristol Dr, Statesville, NC).

??Meet Kash - A Loyal Companion Looking for His Forever HomeKash’s story breaks our hearts ??, but we know it will have a happy ending with your help. This sweet 4-year-old boy was recently surrendered to us when his family was evicted from their home. They loved him dearly from the time he was a puppy, and saying goodbye was incredibly difficult for everyone involved. Unfortunately, we’re seeing far too many situations like this, and these families and their beloved pets need our compassion now more than ever.Kash is the complete package - a well-loved, well-trained companion who’s ready to bring joy to a new family. He’s housebroken and crate-trained, making him an easy addition to any household. He’s spent his life as an indoor dog and when he does go outside, he’s always leashed and well-behaved.This adventure-loving pup thrives on outings and quality time with his people. He absolutely loves trips to the dog park, where he enjoys playing with other dogs ?? and shows off his friendly, social nature. Whether it’s a hike, a walk around the neighborhood, or just hanging out at home, Kash is happiest when he’s by your side.Kash does wonderfully with children ?? and gets along great with other dogs?? , but he would do best in a ???? cat-free home. He’s looking for a family who will love him unconditionally, take him on adventures, and give him the active, engaging life he deserves. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal, loving companion, Kash is waiting to meet you at the shelter ( ??430 Bristol Dr., Statesville, NC). He’s lost his family through no fault of his own, and he’s ready to give all his love to someone new.Kash (A313363)-4 years old | Neutered Male | Weight: 70 lbsHis adoption 8??0?? includes: ?? Neuter | ?? Microchip | ??Age- appropriate vaccines | ?? Current dose of heartworm & flea prevention???? We always recommend meet-and-greets with any resident dogs or children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for everyone. And don’t forget the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet:• 3 Days to decompress• 3 Weeks to learn routines and start bonding• 3 Months to feel fully at home and show their true personality
