Story
Daisy was found at a sawmill, pregnant. She was picked up by a shelter and then taken in by a rescue. After she had her puppies, she was adopted by her current family. They tried for a year but were not able to get her to accept their teen son as part of the family. She loves her people but prefers only animal siblings. She has been around cats with great success. Her first foster had dogs and they said she was fine with them however, she hasn't been around other dogs for a year. She is very sweet and loving. Enjoys walks and napping on the couch with her people. She seems to feel most comfortable with women but will warm up to men. She would do best with a family that doesn't entertain a lot.

Story
Lucky was adopted from us in 2021 but sadly found his way back to the shelter after his owner passed away. He’s understandably confused, and we would love for him to spend as little time here as possible. We are still getting to know Lucky, and he is still getting to know us. He gets excited when he sees us, sometimes jumping up and rubbing against our leg, but other times he is grumpy and confused, as if he isn't quite sure why he is around us all of the time. He definitely needs more time to decompress and adjust to life without his family. Hopefully his second chance at happiness is out there. So far, Lucky has been very well-behaved and easy-going. Around five years old and 65 lbs, Lucky is neutered and house-trained. He previously lived with an older female dog he adored, so he may be dog-friendly as well. Come meet this sweet boy and give him a soft place to land.

Story
Max was left on our front porch one morning, and while we don’t know anything about his past, we do know what an incredible dog he is. At about 2 ½ years old and 95 lbs, he’s a big boy, but also a well-mannered one! Max is house-trained, non-destructive, and knows "sit", "paw", and "down". Max loves to romp outside and play with toys. He particularly loves to catch toys and play tug-of-war. But the moment you show him love, he will abandon play time for his favorite -- cuddles. He loves to get pet and will lean into you for head and back scratches. He will even sometimes try and go underneath your legs to get closer to you. Despite his size, Max has a timid side. He can be easily startled by loud noises and needs a little time to warm up to new people and places. He warms up quicker with women and children -- and treats are always a good way to get on his good side, too. Once he feels safe, you’ll see his playful, loyal, and incredibly sweet personality shine through. So far, Max has met a few female dogs. He did well with them, but did try and mount one a few times. He has met kids and loves them, though keep in mind he is a large boy and he definitely likes to lean and sit on you. He has yet to meet a cat! If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s equal parts playmate and loyal companion, Max may be the perfect match.

Story
Penny came to us as a stray, but she didn’t stay a stranger for long. She quickly made friends of the staff and volunteers. This sweet, friendly girl loves getting pets, cuddling on the couch, and being close to her people. She also enjoys walks and seems like the perfect adventure buddy in the making! Penny is about 1 year old and around 35 lbs. She’s on the smaller side, has a medium-length coat, and a distinctive curly tail. While she looks a bit like a Plott Hound, her exact mix is a mystery. She will need some potty training, but Penny is eager to please and very treat-motivated. She has a gentle, submissive personality and does her best to be polite with both people and other dogs. We think she’d do great with kids and other dogs, but meet and greets are always recommended. With a little structure and basic training, Penny will make an incredible companion. She’s affectionate, playful, smart, and loyal… and ready to find her forever home!

Story
Hannah is a very healthy senior dog looking for a new home to live out her golden years. She is a sweet, beagle mix who spends the majority of her days resting. She appreciates a good walk where she can sniff to her heart's delight. She is crate and house trained, and prefers to talk one daily walk when possible. She knows basic commands: sit, stay, and down. Hannah would thrive in a home with older children or no children. She likes her space and prefers a quiet home where she can rest easily in her favorite spots (the couch, her bed, or the family bed). She likes to start her day with a walk. From there, she'll have breakfast, take a nap, find a sunny spot, and nap some more. If your energy allows, she loves to take a second walk. She is a lover of Greenie dental chews and can't go a day without one.

Story
Meet Churro! A Beautiful Boxer, Rigdeback mix breed dog with a wonderful personality. Churro loves to play, is friendly and curious. He learns fast and already knows; sit, down, stay, paw, wait, come, place, kennel and he is fully house trained and crate trained. He is almost leash trained, but still yanks when he sees a squirrel or sometimes another dog he wants to play with. He comes with his crate, crate bed, another large new bed, 3 leashes, a harness, chew resistant kibble holding toys, treats, food bowl and spill resistant water bowl and 2 dog brushes. He does not shed or very little. He has had all his shots and is neutered. He is absolutely ready for a new home! I am looking for a loving and active new home for Churro. The rehoming fee is to help cover the expenses I have in getting Churro off to a good start after rescuing him. Thank you.
