Story
Meet Molly!! She is a four year old, female spayed American pitbull terrier mix and is about 47 pounds. She is currently being fostered and looking for her forever home!! Molly is one of the sweetest girls I have ever met!! She LOVES being pet, going for walks, playing fetch, playing with her toys, cuddling, napping, and rolling around in the grass. She is potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go, and recalls well. She gets along with other dogs (slow introduction needed), likes to chase bugs, knows sit and paw, and is a quick learner. Molly would thrive in an active family that has a yard. I am unsure if she is good with cats, but I do know she really is the best dog and is extraordinarily loving and loyal. PLEASE help her find her forever home!!!

Story
Hiro is a senior gentlemen at 10-11 years old, who is looking for a new soft spot to land after his former family had children and he was not getting the attention he deserves. His former owner is experiencing complications and cannot care for the young children in the home and Hiro. They feel he is not safe around small children, and want to ensure Hiro is removed from an uncomfortable situation before anything happens to anyone. He loves other dogs of all sizes, and would love a buddy or maybe two, but could definitely be happy to the the king of his castle. Hiro is crate trained, house broken, has some off leash training, does not require a yard, is very gentle taking treats, and loves people. He has a short, but thick double coat, that should be easy to maintain with regular brushing. He last saw the vet in April, and is UTD on his core vaccines. He is a really chill dude just looking for a cozy, quiet(ish) house to call his own. Feel free to contact for further information.

Story
Max was left on our front porch one morning, and while we don’t know much about his past, we’re getting to know what an amazing dog he truly is. At about 2 ½ years old and 94 lbs, he’s a big boy, but also a well-mannered one! Max is house-trained, non-destructive, and already knows “sit” and “paw.” He walks nicely on the leash, checking in with his person often, and loves to romp around outside or play with you. He is energetic and would love an outlet for his energy! Despite his size, Max has a timid side. He can be easily startled by loud noises and needs a little time to warm up to new people and places. Because of this, he’ll do best in a calm environment with patient adopters who can help build his confidence. Once he feels safe, you’ll see his playful, loyal, and incredibly sweet personality shine through. So far, Max has met one female dog. He did well with her, but did try and mount her a few times. He has met kids and loves them, though keep in mind he is a large boy and he definitely likes to lean and sit on you. He has yet to meet a cat! If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s equal parts playmate and loyal companion, Max may be the perfect match.

Story
Meet Cody, an 8 month old bundle of energy and love. This goofy boy is affectionate, playful, and eager to please. He was surrendered because of his high energy that is typical of a young dog. He knows "sit" and although gets jumpy when excited, does listen and shows training potential. He is extremely gentle when taking treats from you. He is a happy boy who gets sporadic zoomies and twirls when he gets attention. He's up for any adventure and will bring a big smile to your face! His previous owner noted that he is friendly, loves toys, and loves kids. Though he is new to the shelter, we get the impression that he is affectionate, sweet, and adventurous. He would make a wonderful dog with some structure and basic training! He is sure to brighten your life, so come and meet this wonderful boy and add a little curiosity and fun to your life! Cody is not yet neutered but will be prior to adoption. He has not been dog tested but displays positive body language to the other shelter dogs.

Story
Bailey was found wandering around Bailey Park in Cornelius, greeting everyone she met with her nonstop tail wag and signature butt wiggles. She’s an incredibly affectionate, friendly girl who loves meeting new people. If you’re sitting, she wants to be by your side; if you’re talking to her, she’ll twirl in happy circles and wiggle her whole body in excitement. She is a happy-go-lucky, loyal girl. Bailey enjoys soaking up attention, pets, and especially butt scratches. She wiggles so hard she sometimes hits herself in the face with her own tail, but she doesn’t mind one bit. She’s gentle, sweet, and enjoys playing with toys, especially stuffies. She is all-around low-energy and calm but gets really excited when a stuffed toy comes out. She play bows and gets the zoomies, it's adorable! What We Know About Bailey: • Medium-sized mixed breed at almost 3 years old • House trained, spayed, and up to date on vaccinations • Loves people and thrives on companionship • Rarely barks or makes a fuss • Has not been dog tested but doesn’t seem bothered by them • Barks at cats so may not want to live with them • Would make a wonderful family dog Bailey is ready to find a loving home where she can be close to her people and enjoy all the affection she deserves. If you’re looking for a gentle, joyful companion with a heart full of love (and a tail that never stops), Bailey may be the perfect fit for you.
