Story
Hiro is a senior gentlemen at 10-11 years old, who is looking for a new soft spot to land after his former family had children and he was not getting the attention he deserves. His former owner is experiencing complications and cannot care for the young children in the home and Hiro. They feel he is not safe around small children, and want to ensure Hiro is removed from an uncomfortable situation before anything happens to anyone. He loves other dogs of all sizes, and would love a buddy or maybe two, but could definitely be happy to the the king of his castle. Hiro is crate trained, house broken, has some off leash training, does not require a yard, is very gentle taking treats, and loves people. He has a short, but thick double coat, that should be easy to maintain with regular brushing. He last saw the vet in April, and is UTD on his core vaccines. He is a really chill dude just looking for a cozy, quiet(ish) house to call his own. Feel free to contact for further information.

Story
Lucky was adopted from us in 2021 but sadly found his way back to the shelter after his owner passed away. He’s understandably confused, and we would love for him to spend as little time here as possible. We are still getting to know Lucky, and he is still getting to know us. He gets excited when he sees us, sometimes jumping up and rubbing against our leg, but other times he is grumpy and confused, as if he isn't quite sure why he is around us all of the time. He definitely needs more time to decompress and adjust to life without his family. Hopefully his second chance at happiness is out there. So far, Lucky has been very well-behaved and easy-going. Around five years old and 65 lbs, Lucky is neutered and house-trained. He previously lived with an older female dog he adored, so he may be dog-friendly as well. Come meet this sweet boy and give him a soft place to land.

Story
Luna is a gorgeous blue merle Mini Aussie (~27 lbs, 7 yrs) with a striking blue crescent moon in her brown eyes and fluffy coat. She has been with us since age 1. She is smart, loving, and full of life. Highly intelligent, she needs mental work or a job to stay balanced and happy. Affectionate, relaxed after exercise, great with people, excellent at boarding, shines at dog parks, and loves frisbee catch. Fully vaccinated with solid obedience training. As a herding breed, she has protective instincts and may nip/herd when stressed. She thrived on our half-acre but struggles with younger kids in our blended family, with a few minor bites in high-stress moments. She would excel in a calm home with older kids (or none), experienced herding-breed owners, plenty of space, and purpose (herding, agility, hikes, tasks). We adore her and want her to have her happiest life. Would love to get updates/photos for our 12-year-old girls. Perfect for an active, experienced owner with space.

Story
Penny came to the shelter as a stray, but it didn’t take long for her to win over the hearts of staff and volunteers alike. She is incredibly sweet, friendly, and affectionate. Penny loves getting pets, cuddling on the couch, and spending time close to her people. She also enjoys going for walks and seems like the kind of dog who would happily join you on adventures. Penny is about one year old and weighs around 35 pounds, making her a smaller, manageable size. While she resembles a Plott Hound, her exact mix is unknown. She has a medium-length coat and an adorable, distinctive curly tail. Penny is currently perfecting sit, down, and paw. We have also caught her play bowing with other dogs between kennels. Because of this, we believe she would do well with other dogs and children, though meet-and-greets are always recommended. With some structure and basic training, Penny has all the qualities to be an amazing companion. She is affectionate, playful, smart, and loyal. Most importantly, she is ready to find a loving home of her own. Fun tidbit: She wiggles her butt when she gets excited!

Story
This sweet girl is Molly, my sister’s dog, currently located in Cornelius, NC. She’s about 5 years old and is ready for a loving home where she can truly thrive. Molly is very smart, potty trained, and crate trained. If she isn’t let out regularly, she knows to use a pee pad. She loves men and would do especially well with a male owner who has a large, fenced yard where she can safely run and play. Molly would do best as the only pet in the home, as she does not get along with other dogs or cats. She’s a rescue, and we believe she may have been used as a breeding dog in the past. Because of that, she could benefit from continued training and patience as she settles into a stable, loving environment. Right now, we have to keep her separated from our two small dogs, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult. Molly deserves a home where she doesn’t have to be isolated and can receive the attention and care she needs. She truly deserves a second chance with someone who will love her.
