Story
Nova is such a sweetheart, she just wants love and cuddles and to run around, and she is super intelligent - she adores her people and has great puppy energy but is also very happy to hang out around the house We got her as a buddy for my son, but it turns out he’s really not much of a dog person ☹️ we thought he would warm up, but he’s just not very interested. We have twin babies and our older son is 5, and since she’s really not a companion for him the way that we hoped, it doesn’t make sense for us to keep her She is potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps perfectly over night Only charging the $250 fee because we’ll send along all her things (crate, heart worm and flea prevention meds, food, a bed, two leashes, a collar, treats, toys, food/water bowl, etc.)

Story
Name: Finn Breed: Cur/Lab Mix Sex: Neutered Male Age: 1.5 years Weight: 45lbs History Finn had been on our surrender waitlist when we found him running around the town with another dog. Personality Finn is new to the shelter, so we are still getting to know him. So far, he has been sweet and playful. He comes across as shy at first and will nervously "smile" to show he isn't a threat. Once he gets a pet or a treat, he is ready to cuddle and play. He will rub against your legs like a cat in an effort to get pets and absolutely loves the attention. He also likes to play with toys and seems to have some energy. Behavior What we know so far is limited, but we do know he is house-trained, knows "sit", and came to the shelter with a male dog, so he may be dog friendly. Health Finn is already neutered, up to date on his vaccines, and microchipped. He is perfectly healthy!

Story
Breed: Miniature Pinscher / Possible Chihuahua Mix Gender: Neutered Female Age: Around 14 years old Size: 10lbs History Lucy was surrendered with her senior brother, Skipper, after their owners could no longer take care of them. Skipper has already been adopted. Personality Lucy is a sweetheart that just wants to sit on your lap for attention. She loves to cuddle and is quite content with a comfy bed, a quiet home, and a person to give them pets and love. She could sit on your lap or snuggle into your shoulder all day if you let her. When people walk in the room, she will get really excited and whine until they give her at least one head pat! Temperament Lucy likes to be near her person and will bark/whine loudly when left alone, so apartment living may not be the best. She came in with another senior dog who she loves, but she does display food reactivity. If you have another pet, we suggest a meet and greet and feeding her separately. She does great with children of all ages! She is house-trained, though would benefit from more frequent bathroom breaks due to her age. Health Despite being in her teens, Lucy is quite healthy. She recently had surgery to remove some old teeth and clean others, and she did amazing! Lucy also enjoys going on walks and is still active. She will even get spurts of energy and try to run around!

Roxie

Foxhound American Pit Bull Terrier

Female, Young
Cornelius, NC
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Roxie is a 2 1/2 yr old spayed, microchipped, girl looking for the right home. She is house trained, lays in her crate on her own. Roxie is incredibly affectionate, smart, energetic, playful and loves snuggles. Her favorite things include outdoor adventures, swimming, easy trail hikes and long walks. Her play style is more wrestling, so she’d do best with dogs who enjoy rough and tumble play. She would thrive in a home with fenced in yard that allows her to run. She needs a family. She does best in a quieter neighborhood, less traffic, activity and noise. She gets overwhelmed and anxious living in her busy apartment. This decision has been incredibly difficult, but due to my health, she needs more than what I can give. She deserves the best life, a home where she feels safe, relaxed and has the space she needs. Most importantly, to be loved. If you want a loyal, loving companion who enjoys outdoor adventures and cozy snuggles. Roxie could be the perfect addition to your family….

Story
Name: Winston Breed: Border Collie Mix Sex: Neutered Male Age: 5 years Weight: ~60lbs History Winston was surrendered by his owner, who no longer had the time to care for him. Health When Winston arrived, he had severe ear infections that were never treated. This resulted in growths in both ears. Luckily, we were able to remove these growths! He is now mostly deaf. Personality Winston is a big sweetheart with a wonderful personality. He loves affection and soaking up attention, whether that means cuddling on the couch or simply sitting beside you. He truly enjoys being around his people and is a little snuggle bug. While he loves to play and go for walks, he’s just as happy relaxing and keeping you company. He makes a fantastic companion. Behavior Winston is house-trained and non-destructive. He knows “sit,” is very smart, and is highly treat-motivated. We are unsure how he does with other dogs and recommend a meet-and-greet if you have a resident dog. We are also unsure how he is with cats. Winston could thrive in a variety of home environments.

Story
Bodhi is a very intelligent dog. He loves car rides, walks, puzzles, and snuggles. He does not do well with other animals. He loves kids, but can’t be trusted without supervision. He enjoys being outside and looking out windows. Bodhi would do best as an only dog for an active owner, as he loves walks, but is very strong. It breaks my heart to rehome him, but in trying to start a family, the safety of an infant takes priority. He is up to date on all shots and sees the vet regularly. He is a very happy and loving boy and will make a great companion for the right owners.
