Story
Mia came to us as an owner surrender and has been with Match since the summer of 2025. Her foster mom has worked incredibly hard to help her build confidence, resilience, and impulse control. When Mia first arrived, she was eager to go outside but extremely fearful once away from the house — even in quiet neighborhoods. Since then, she has truly turned a corner and blossomed into a different dog. Mia is soft, cuddly, and affectionate. She enjoys her beauty naps just as much as she enjoys being near her people. One of her favorite hobbies is tossing around small plush toys and entertaining herself. Because of her early anxiety, Mia still uses a Ruffland kennel to ensure she stays safe and secure when unsupervised. Over time, she has learned how to settle quickly and comfortably relax inside her kennel, though she may still try to negotiate bedtime with new handlers. She is kennel trained, house trained, and walks nicely on a loose leash. Mia genuinely loves people, but fast and unpredictable toddler movements have startled her in the past. With gradual exposure, she has learned to remain neutral and comfortable around young children from a respectful distance. That said, we believe her ideal home would have older children who understand boundaries and canine body language. A huge part of responsible dog ownership is advocating for our dogs and helping them feel safe, which builds trust and prevents unnecessary reactivity over time. Mia currently lives with several foster sisters and does well with respectful dogs when given slow, thoughtful introductions — after a proper decompression period, of course. She is very communicative and gives clear warnings when uncomfortable, which we see as a positive trait. She will growl before escalating, allowing handlers the opportunity to step in and support her before situations become stressful. Mia is also fairly independent and often wanders away from the group to find a sunny spot for a nap. We strongly believe in advocating for all dogs in multi-dog homes: when a dog asks for space, we listen and support them. We have seen some leash reactivity in situations where another dog suddenly appears barking or lunging behind a fence. In those moments, Mia can react quickly and intensely. The good news is that she also recovers quickly — often relaxing and wagging her tail again by the next house down the street. Everyone at the rescue adores Mia. Because of her strength and the unpredictability of busy environments, she will do best with an experienced large-dog owner who understands management, advocacy, and continued confidence building. Mia thrives with two short walks per day and about 30–45 minutes of exercise. She is not a dog that requires hours of intense physical or mental stimulation to be successful. Mia is a slightly picky, wonderfully expressive girl with so much love to give to the right home. If you think you might be her person, we would love to hear from you.

Story
Meet Bowie 💙 A deeply loyal, big-hearted dog who loves with his whole soul. Bowie is the kind of dog who forms a tight, meaningful bond with his people. He is the kind of guy who is affectionate, cuddly, and fully devoted to his family. He thrives on closeness, loves being touched by his favorite humans, and will happily lean in for vigorous neck scratches any chance he gets. If you talk to him, he’ll tilt his head and listen like he’s trying to understand every word. At home, Bowie is a rock-solid companion. He’s fully crate trained, happily settling in overnight without complaint, and has been 100% potty trained for years — he’ll even alert you when it’s time to go outside. He understands structure and does beautifully with it, holding his “place” when asked and respecting boundaries. He’s quiet and observant, barking only when something truly seems out of place, like a car pulling into the driveway or a knock at the door. Bowie enjoys his daily walks, walks politely on leash, and responds reliably to commands like “heel” and “come.” He’s not reactive toward dogs or people while out and about, though squirrels and stray cats can definitely test his self-control. Bowie has a lot of professional training under his "belt", is very attentive when off leash and has great recall. He loves tug games, playing hide-and-seek with his family, short car rides, and gleefully dismantling squeaky toys. Toss him an ice cube and he’ll try to catch it midair like it’s the best game ever invented. Socially, Bowie does great with other dogs and regularly attended free-range doggie daycare without issue. Bowie would love to have a canine friend in his new home. He lived peacefully with a cat who was already part of the household, though he did chase unfamiliar cats or small critters outdoors. When it comes to visitors, Bowie is protective of his home and family. He needs clear boundaries and management with new people, especially children outside his immediate family, and does best when his space and routines are respected. With familiar adult visitors, he can relax and coexist comfortably. Bowie is ready for a home that values loyalty, structure, and deep connection. He doesn’t need to be everyone’s dog — he wants to be your dog. In the right home, with patient, confident humans who appreciate his devotion and respect his needs, Bowie will be an incredibly loving and rewarding companion.

Story
Hi there, I’m Charli! I’m a bright, lovable girl with a silly streak and a whole lot of heart. I’m on the lookout for my forever person — someone who appreciates a mix of fun, smarts, and snuggles. I enjoy staying active, but I’m not an all-day athlete. Give me a good game of chase in the yard or a nice walk, and I’m one happy pup. When I’m excited, my whole body wiggles — it’s kind of my signature move. I absolutely LOVE affection. If you’re handing out pets, belly rubs, or sweet words, I’m your girl. Cuddling at the end of the day is one of my favorite things, and when you tell me I’m a “good girl,” I glow with pride. I’m great with kids, though I’m a bit of an enthusiastic goof, so very small kiddos might get gently toppled in my excitement. I’d also love a dog buddy who matches my energy and size. With slow, proper introductions, I’ve done really well with my foster family’s dogs. I’m respectful with the little ones, a little too playful for the cats (I mean well!), and I especially adore playing chase with the dog who’s my size. After a good run, I’m able to settle down and focus like a champ. I do best when I have routines and structure — they help me keep all my happy energy in check so I can shine my brightest. I’m affectionate, goofy, eager to please, and full of life. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with a big heart and an even bigger wiggle, I just might be your girl.

Story
Meet Scooter, a one-year-old puppy who loves backyards and sleeping on the couch. He’s only 10 pounds, loves being part of a pack, and is great with kids. Scooter can be timid with adults at first and may take a little time to warm up, but once he feels safe, his sweet personality really shines. He also loves chewing, so be sure to provide plenty of toys and keep other items out of reach. Scooter is house-trained and does well in his kennel during the day and at night. He gets excited to see his family each morning and wants to yip, but he’s working on that. While he was very shy with his new foster at first, he’s been warming up incredibly well and continues to gain confidence. Scooter is quite independent but would do best in a home with another playful, confident dog to help him feel secure and show him the ropes. He’ll also need some leash training once he’s comfortable with his new family. Overall, he’s a sweet, happy boy who just wants to find a forever home where he can feel safe, supported, and loved.
