Story
I found frosty at a kennel and instantly fell in love, after working with him everyday for a few months I finally took him home. I took him in as a foster, but overtime have realized he deserves someone who can spend more time with him and more time training him. He is four years old, and only knows a few basic tasks that I have taught him. He was found in California, locked in a backyard with his mother, he had no clue how to play with toys, play with other dogs, and never had a place he felt safe enough to relax. Over the last few months he’s been amazing with my dog and every dog he’s come into contact with, and has been good with people as long as he’s introduced right. He’s become very protect of me and my family and has issues with being alone with other people. I feel he would be a perfect “one person” dog, and amazing guard dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Bruhno Bruhno is still a work in progress.  Bruhno is a very shy English Mastiff.  He is learning to walk on a leash and ride in cars. Bruhno is good with other dogs and was raised with children.  It will be a while before we feel he is ready for adoption. His future "furever" family will need to be prepared for the long haul. Bruhno is terrified of new situations.  His main and immediate response is to immediately empty his bladder  Any adopters will have to be prepared for this.  He is house trained; this is a fear response. If you are interested in Bruhno or any of our fosters, please go to our website at www.mastiffrescueoregon.org, click on adoption info, and submit an application online. An application is required for any meet and greet. All of our fosters are in private homes.  Please be courteous, and do not call prior to 8:00am or after 8:00pm  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 16, 2024, 11:13 am

Dog meet and greets are by appointment only, please answer the questions below the bio, either through Petfinder, Adopt-A-Pet, Rescueme.org or by directly e-mailing us at shelter@hbpets.org. Please be patient, we try and get back to you as quick as possible. Longest dog resident: 595 days, that is how long Luca has been at our shelter, 595 days, as of 4/18/24. We don't understand why, Luca is sweet, lovable, goofy, his recall is 90%, he knows sit, stay, leave-it, kennel and handsome boy (he tilts his head), he has a long list of many different breed dogs he has played with (from cattle dogs to Labradors to malamutes to German Shepard's), he does well at he groomers, he loves water, any kind of water, whether that be pool water or a muddy pond. Luca came to us in 2022, from a local county shelter who have been hit hard with abandoned dogs, he was on their list to be euthanized due to overcrowding, they reached out and we took him in, we never expected him to still be here 595 days later. Sure, he cannot live with cats, he doesn't like intact male dogs or Alpha dogs and he shy's away from children under 10yrs, but he truly is he most amazing dog, he is coming up on his 2yr anniversary here, is there no one who will give this boy a home before then?? My adoption fee is $150: This includes neuter, vaccines, microchip, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1 pound bag of food. 1. Do you own or rent? 2. Do you have a private fenced yard? 3. Do you go hiking, jogging or do physical activities that he can be a part of? 4. How many people and age groups live in your home? 5. How many animals, types and what they are like! 6. Do you have time to continue his leash manners? 7. How many hours a day will he be alone? 8. Do you have time for brushing? 9.Please tell us more about how he would spend his days and what activities you would plan!

Please be patient, we try to get back to everyone quickly. 3rd longest dog resident at 384: Meet Mason, he came to us in 2022 as a stray. He was adopted shortly after arriving as he is such a good boy. Mason was having a tough time adjusting to a toddler and after a almost a year of trying to make it work, his adopters posted him to be re-homed, through the re-homing site they found his old owner, who also said he doesn't want to be around children and is scared of some men. Mason is a well trained dog, he needs a home with children over age 14yrs, he is cautious of men, specially men who are loud, he does very well with our two guys here. He needs a home with someone who understands heeler behavior, he loves to play fetch for short periods, specially now that he has lost the some weight, he would love a quiet home, loves calm female dogs, he has no issues with woman. He just needs someone who understands him, he is a very sweet boy. His play buddy is Cody a Pit Mix (Available for adoption). My adoption fee is $125: Included Neuter, Microchip, vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment and a 1lbs bag of food. 1. Do you have a privately fenced yard? 2. How many humans and ages live in your home? Male/female for adults? 3. How many animals, types and male/female for dogs? 4. Do you have the patience to allow Mason to get comfortable with you? 5. He needs an owner who can take him on walks and play chase, is this something you can do?
