Story

Got him when he was 3 years old from a family member who was not taking care of him. He was no problem while I was working from home but now that I have returned to the office, he spends most of his day in a crate. This is stressful for both of us so a new environment where he can get more attention will be better. He is very friendly but excitable. He loves car rides to local parks (l live in an apartment so he has no yard) and is generally good with other dogs that are not too aggressive. He does not like to be groomed so he does need some sedation for it. Note that the adoption fee will include his crate, toys, food and treats that he is used to.

We are looking to responsibly rehome Sky, a 4-year-old (estimated) Husky mix we adopted from a rescue about 5 months ago. We sadly have to acknowledge that our home is not the right environment for him. I can no longer trust him around my girls. Sky needs an ADULT ONLY home and a fenced yard he can run in. He was clearly mistreated before coming into rescue and can be skittish, especially in high-energy environments. With adults, he has been affectionate, loyal, and responsive. With kids he can be reactive. About Sky; Neutered; Microchipped; Up to date on prevention meds; All vet records and paperwork available; Walks great on leash (loves trail walks); No food aggression; I can take food or bones without issue; Fabulously house trained. Crate trained and loves car rides. Also not a vocal husky. He does not bark excessively. Things to know; Needs continued work on jumping; Will occasionally counter surf; Best fit would be in a calm, structured home without kids.

My heart is breaking as i am writing and I'm not even sure how to begin. I am going on 2 years of being divorced. I am now a single mom of 2 kids. I was a stay at home mom before and my financial situation looked much different. I now have multiple jobs that require me to be gone for long periods of times and when I don't have my kids, I have to travel for work. My dogs used to get daily walks, rides in the car and fun to baseball games and school drop offs. They've been raised with kids of all ages and dogs of all shapes and sizes.. but now they sit inside all day long and are not getting the love and attention and exercise I know they need. They're each 100 pounds and the dog food and vet costs and grooming on top of the lack of time is too much. If anyone would be interested in keeping them together, it would be an answered prayer. but I understand that's a lot of commitment for anyone. They are used to space and are beep trained (no shock) collars. They walk with harnesses on.
