Story
Kai is a sweet heart and very loyal. She is always right by your side and has hilarious mannerisms. Kai loves going on walks and loves to run around in the back yard. She loves to tease you with a toy and hopes you will chase her to get it. She’s very expressive and a great buddy! Kai was 3 in December, I don't know if that counts as "young" or "adult". I am not sure about how she is with kids because we aren't around them too often. Our neighbor (and her kids) watches Kai when we are out of town, they stay and swim and have no issues with Kai and have done so for years. I don't know that Kai has been around cats but suspect she might come right up to sniff them. We have four other dogs right now and Kai is usually good with them. She’d be better off without other dogs or a dog that is closer to her size so they can play. She is 4 times as big as the rest of our dogs so it's tough to play. She did have a problem with one of our dogs

Story
Meet Wesley, who we saved at the 11th hour from a large, high kill shelter in Texas......As it turns out, this handsome gentleman, with a perfect shooting star marking on his chest, is just that - A STAR...❤...Wes is a VERY loving, happy, well behaved boy, who is dog friendly. Wes is about 6 years old, weighs 70 lbs and is very healthy...We do not know how he is with cats and have no way to test him. Wes is currently in boarding in Texas and would love a home with a family who will shower him with love and include him in their adventures...Could it be you?... If you live in the northeast OR Texas and feel you have what it takes to make Wesley's dreams come true, please follow the link below to fill out an adoption application and we will be in touch promptly...Hope to hear from you soon! Wesley's adoption fee is $500, which includes complete vetting, new bed, collar, harness, leashes, bowl, food for transitioning, complete medical record, HW prevention and transport north.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Denise (sharpeisnchihuahuas@msn.com) for more information about this pet.Irene was dumped at the gate of a high kill shelter in WV one weekend.  She is a sweet dog that deserves a family for the rest of her years. Poor Irene has been diagnosed with Cushing disease and will require cushings medication for the rest of her life. With her Cushing Irene pees alot very frequently. She needs someone that will take her out every couple hours to pee. She sometimes needs to pee in between so foster mom has xlarge size pee pads inside which  she will go on. Also the same with overnight. She can't hold it an entire night even though she is on meds. She is on 2 different kinds of meds and requires a test every couple months to make sure meds are regulated. She is so sweet and friendly. She walks perfectly on a leash. She likes to be petted and be with people. She is great with other dogs and pigs. ** LOCAL CENTRAL PA APPLICATIONS ONLY **Her adoption donation includes spaying, vaccinations, implanting of a microchip, application of flea meds and worming. Irene is in foster care so please complete an application at our website (www.castawaycritters.org) before meeting her. Completing an application does not obligate you to adopt; however, it is required. Applications are processed in the order received in an effort to find the best match possible for both the dog and the adopter.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 3, 2024, 7:33 pm

PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.9/16/23 Still available 4/24/23 Still available!    3/14/23 Could this guy be any cuter?? Here’s what his foster mom says about him-  Dale (40 lbs) was taken in from a bad situation, along with his brother Dink (35 pounds), in May 2022, along with many other dogs. The owner failed to spay and neuter his dogs, but seemed to keep most all of the puppies. There were so many dogs living there. We were contacted when he was being evicted and wasn’t taking any of the dogs with him. They were very shy upon intake, but have made tremendous progress! Dale LOVES to play! He loves running around in the yard and playing with his toys and other dogs. We would love to see him go to a home with another dog for him to play with. He is good with older kids, might be a little too rambunctious around small children. Not aggressive in any way, he just might accidentally knock little ones over. He enjoys cuddling, especially with my son in his bed at night. He is not completely housebroken, but he does use the pads inside during storms, etc. Working on the leash, he'd much rather run! Not cat tested. His breed is anyone’s guess! He kind of looks like a shrunken Lab! Dale was heartworm positive on intake but he's been treated and is now ready to find his forever home! He is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, on heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 3/30/24 Celeste is a darling little lady who has been looking for a home for a while now. She was part of an accidental litter. Her mom is on the smaller side at about 40 lbs. We believe mom is a Kelpie mix. Maybe a Shepherd mix. Celeste is the smallest of the litter, at about 5 months old and only about 20 lbs, so she won't be very big once grown. My guess is her adult weight will be around 30 lbs. She is almost fully house trained. She gets along fantastic with other dogs of all sizes and ages. She will be a great choice for any family situation, with her happy, outgoing, playful demeanor.
