Meet Buddy: Buddy is a friendly Husky/Pyrenees/Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix that is 1 year old (as of July 2025) and weighs around 79 lbs. Buddy was found as a stray in a subdivision going from house to house looking for someone to help him. Buddy is very friendly and loves people. We are working with him on jumping up and hugging you, walking on a leash and counter surfing. Buddy is very playful and loves to play with lots of toys or grab a rug/robe and run in the yard with it. He is crate trained and has not had one accident in the home. He gets along with other dogs and because he plays hard we would recommend no small dogs. Buddy definitely needs a fenced in yard and a family that is very active. Meet Maurice: Maurice is a 2 year 3 months old (as of April 2025) pit / lab mix (best guess) that weighs around 53 pounds. Maurice is timid but sweet. He gives lots of kisses, likes belly rubs, and will paw for more attention. He loves being outside where he can sniff things, watch squirrels and birds, and run around. A fenced-in yard or someone looking for a walking buddy would be ideal for Maurice. He is great in the car, crate and house-trained, and will entertain himself with chew bones. Maurice is currently in a foster home in the Leesport, PA area. Maurice gets along well with other dogs, but prefers female canine companions who don't mind that he's an attention hog. Maurice is fearful of men and would thrive best in a home with only women. We would love for Maurice to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play! Meet Alba: Alba is about a 2 year old (as of November 2025) terrier mix that weighs 46 pounds. Alba was spotted wandering in a park by one of our rescuers while they went to and from work. The rescuer was able to get her to come to her after about a week of stopping to try. We are so glad we were able to get this sweet girl to safety. Alba is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Alba is super energetic, super friendly and a very social girl. Alba does great in the car! Alba is friendly and affectionate and loves to play. With her energy and playfulness we believe she would thrive with some training to harness her good girl abilities. Alba has been fostered indoors and does well with other dogs and cats. Alba is house trained and crate trained. Alba is up to date on her shots and spayed. Meet Rocco: Rocco is estimated to be about a 2 year old (as of December 2025) chihuahua mix (best guess) that weighs 16 pounds. Rocco was found as a stray around some garbage cans looking for food. Rocco is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Rocco has a very sweet personality. Rocco gets along well with other dogs. Rocco can be a little shy at first but warms up quickly. Rocco loves snuggling in your lap and is a really sweet boy. Due to Rocco’s size, we would recommend a home with children over 7 or children with dog experience. Rocco is house trained and prefers to cuddle in bed at night with you. We would love for Rocco to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can play freely, but it is not a requirement. Rocco is up to date on his shots and neutered. "Do you like Velcro dogs? Are you looking for a shadow/cuddle buddy? Do you like to take walks? If so, Gerald and his extra large kissable ears would love to meet you! Gerald demands to be in the presence of his people at all times and gets along with three other dogs of similar size in his current foster home. Gerald has free run of the house when the humans are not at home and is not destructive. He enjoys sleeping in the humans' bed and hanging out in the fenced back yard. Need a watchdog? Gerald has a seal-like bark that makes him sound larger than he truly is. Although initially suspicious of strangers and visitors, Gerald warms up quickly and settles down with bribes of treats and attention. He thrives on human interaction and just wants to give and receive love. Gerald is estimated to be about a 7 year old (as of August 2025) chihuahua / Jack Russel terrier mix that weighs around 16 pounds. Gerald is currently being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area and would love to meet his forever family. Gerald has a little bit of hair loss due to a previous flea allergy. Meet Penny! Penny is a sweet terrier mix estimated to be 8 years old (as of March 17, 2025) and 50 lbs of pure love. She is such a happy, friendly, and smart dog and deserves to have a family of her own! Penny was on the list for euthanasia at a high kill shelter when her foster Mom stepped up to save her. Penny is a laid back gal who loves to smile and roll over for belly rubs. Her favorite past time is snoozing but she’s always down for a good romp around the yard with her puppy friends. She is good with other dogs, people, and kids. She is being fostered with another senior dog. Penny is shy with men at first, but warmed up to her foster dad just fine over time. She enjoys walks, and would love someone who would like to walk with her. Penny is crate trained and potty-trained. She is a sweet soul who wants to be loved and give love. Penny is very calm and well-mannered. She knows sit, down, stay, and heel. She is so well trained that she won’t start to eat until given permission.
