Story
Meet Draco: Draco is about a 4 year old (as of May 2026) pit / lab mix (best guess) that weighs about 45 pounds. Draco was found in an abandoned apartment in Memphis where the owners moved off and left him behind. Someone called one of our rescuers and luckily she was able to go get him. Draco is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Draco is a very friendly, gentle and sweet boy. We are confused on how someone could leave him behind. Draco loves people and loves to be petted and snuggled. Draco has been good with both other dogs and the resident cats. Draco walks well on his leash and is both crate and house trained. We would love for Draco to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can run and play freely. Draco is up to date on his shots and is neutered. Draco has lots of love to give to a family. Meet Sunshine: Sunshine is about a 10 year old (as of May 2026) dachshund mix that weighs about 10 pounds. Sunshine was surrendered by her owner with 2 other companions when the owner could no longer keep them. Sunshine is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Sunshine came to us appearing to have been a well loved family pet. Sunshine is a consummate lap baby who is happiest in someone's lap or under the covers at night time. She's very gentle and would be great with kids. Sunshine is not showing her age at all. She's very active and runs around the yard with the best of them. Sunshine appears to be house trained. We would love for Sunshine to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. Sunshine did test heartworm positive and went through treatments. Sunshine is up to date on her shots and was spayed recently. If you are interested in sharing in Sunshine’s golden years and basking in some of her rays of light, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
** PA Foster/Adopter Needed!   Meet Buddy:  Buddy is a friendly Husky/Pyrenees/Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix that is approximately 1.5 years old (as of January 2026) and weighs 90 pounds. Buddy was found as a stray in a MS subdivision going from house to house looking for someone to help him. Thankfully he walked up to the right home and the family brought him into their home until he found a foster in PA. Buddy is being fostered in the Pottstown, PA area while he waits for his forever family to come get him. Buddy is very friendly and loves people. Buddy loves being outside either alone or with another dog. He plays nicely with his furry foster sisters, one his size and the other half his size, but does not like male dogs. We recommend no small dogs or small children because Buddy plays hard and does not realize his size. Buddy is your typical Husky/Pyrenes mix. He is very intelligent but has a stubborn side too. He knows a few commands – sit, down, paw, and look. Buddy will need additional patience and training as he continues to learn not to jump up and hug you to say hello, walk nicely on a leash, and not to counter surf. Buddy's Pyrenes and Husky show though the most as he guards the home and occasionally howls as Huskies do.  Buddy is crate trained and has not had one accident in the home. In the evening, he settles and hangs out with his human and other dogs in the home. Buddy definitely needs a fenced in yard and a family that is very active. Buddy is up to date on all his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.   REQUIREMENTS: Fenced in yard and a female dog in the home.   CURRENT LOCATION: Foster Home in Pottstown, PA 19464 Kennel License #17584 ##2367372##

Meet Georgia: Georgia is a 15 week old (as of May 18, 2026) pit / hound mix (best guess) that weighs about 15 pounds. This sweet artist litter (Artemisia (Arte), Georgia and Frida) was rescued from a ditch on the side of the road in Mississippi. These fun, curious, creative, cuties were named for famous painters after they knocked over a bucket of paint after arriving at their foster home. Georgia is being fostered in the south and would love to catch the next freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! Georgia, and this full litter, is a group of your typical very playful, sweet and cuddly puppies! Georgia loves playing with her toys. Georgia has been great with other dogs and even cats. Georgia really enjoys human companionship and wants to be near her people. She has done well with children, too! Georgia is crate trained. As a puppy, Georgia will need some patience while she works on her house training. We would love for Georgia to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run and play freely. Georgia is up to date on her puppy shots and will need to be spayed when age appropriate. If you are interested in giving this creative girl lots of love and a great life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Meet Elly Mae: Elly Mae is a 9 week old (as of May 17, 2026) beagle mix (best guess) that weighs 5 pounds. This sweet litter (Elly Mae, Luke and Duke) was found on the side of the road in the country. The guy who found them said if one wouldn’t have moved, he would’ve never seen them. The little sweeties were only 1-2lbs and 3-4 weeks old when they were found. The rescuers spent an hour picking ticks off of these tiny babies and worked to get them hydrated and healthy. They are all thriving now! Elly Mae is being fostered in the south and would love to catch the next freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families! Elly Mae, and this full litter, is a group of very loving and playful pups! Elly Mae is curious, sweet, and ready to snuggle. As a puppy, Elly Mae will need some patience while she works on her house training. We would love for Elly Mae to have a home with a fenced in yard for her to run, sniff  and play freely. Story
Meet Mocha:  Mocha is estimated to be about five years old (as of February 2026) Shepherd Mix (best guess) that weighs 66 pounds. Mocha entered our rescue when a man called us to see if we could help get Mocha off the streets before something bad happened to her. Mocha had been living on the streets of Memphis, even had some litters of pups, when she befriended this older gentleman who always played with her, fed, and watered her over 2/3 years. The man just wanted Mocha to have a better life. Mocha is currently being fostered in the York, PA area and would love to meet her forever family. Mocha is a very sweet and friendly girl who is crate trained, house trained and walks on the leash very well. Mocha loves lots of affection and to be petted and loved on. Mocha is good with people and once she trusts you, she will become your shadow. Mocha is good with other dogs that are the same size as her or larger. She likes playing with other dogs, but does not like it when they get into her face. She would do best in a house with dogs that will respect that. We are still determinging if she is good with cats. We recommend a home with children that are 10 years or older and that know how to respect a dog's space, as she is still firguring out what it is like living in a home. She was overly interested in the cat in her former foster home. Mocha loves to go for walks, play tug of war or just sit close to you and chill out. She has just discovered that she loves to play fetch! She's an easy going girl with so much love to give.  We would love for Mocha to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can play freely and enjoy the outside. Mocha is up-to-date on all of het shots and spayed. Mocha is currently going through heartworm treatment and doing great. If you are interested in giving this sweet girl a great home please go to Charlie's Crusaders website at  (www.Charlie’s Crusaders.org) to fill out our application.   CURRENT LOCATION: Foster Home in York, PA 17403 License #17584 ##2714517##
