Trooper is a loving dog, but he has some fears. He is scared of going outside and needs a house with a fenced in yard to help him acclimate. He does not like loud noises. He also gets very energetic inside the house and needs to be around children older than 5. He is playful but sometimes too much and does not realize his size when he runs around.

Story
Khan is a very handsome young pit bull looking for an active/structured house. Having been abandoned at the shelter, we don't know any specifics about his background. We do know that he LOVES humans and craves attention! Khan is extremely energetic and very strong. When we first met him he had absolutely no manners. He can get overstimulated and will jump or nip to get your attention. He has completed Intro-to-Training class twice and walks with a Gentle Leader and a chest harness. He will benefit greatly from continued consistency with his training and commands. He is very smart, and he shows that he can absolutely be a Good Dog with consistent handling (and the right yummy incentives). After more than a year here at the shelter, he is much calmer and better able to process his surroundings. His loves are car rides, walks, swimming, and PEOPLE! At 65-70 lbs his strength can be a challenge. His jump has a 5-6 foot clearance from standing! Khan has not shown any signs of aggression toward other dogs but he does forget his manners in an effort to play with them. We have not specifically cat-tested Khan, but he has been in our lobby where he can see cats and he is very interested in them. We suspect that he would chase anything smaller than himself.

Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Miles was originally rescued in Arkansas as a puppy due to a hoarding situation. He was adopted by me and my son in August 2023. Unfortunately, due to job loss I am being forced to sell my home and move in with family. I am unable to take this boy with us and it is heartbreaking. Miles needs to be in a home with a yard that he can run. He spends a lot of time outside and prefers to be outdoors whenever possible. He is wonderful with children but I would recommend the child be at least 5 and experienced with dogs. Miles is extremely loving and gets very excited (we have been working on his jumping). He is crate trained, and fully house broken. He is 1 year old, UTD on all vaccines until August 2024. All of his items including his crate will be provided. We are heartbroken to part with our boy but we want him to have the best home.

Story
Gunnar is an incredibly sweet dog! He was born 12/15/23 and we got him through a small local breeder. He's housebroken and is trained to sit, lay down, come, stay, and shake. He is super playful and loves a good game of fetch. He loves to cuddle but loves to wrestle too. He's great with other dogs. While he hasn't done any harm to our cat, our cat has hurt him. He just wants to play and chases the cat around, but our cat hates that (he is a 6 year old grump). So, while we think he'd be ok with cats, we aren't sure cats would be ok with him. We adore Gunnar and it will be very difficult to give him to a new home, but we want what is best for him. We are looking for a loving home with or without other dogs and a backyard for him to run in to play fetch and get his zoomies out. He loves walks because he gets to meet other people and dogs. He's great with young kids and wouldn't hurt a fly. He'll do just about anything for a treat and loves/needs toys to chew on.

Story
Tanner is a 8 year old Bloodhound rescue mix approx. 65lbs.He is a loving old man who needs a quiet home and would love a yard to explore. He loves being outside, and does great on car rides. He is a gentle giant that, loves other people and does well with both cats and other dogs. He is housetrained, and crate trained. He can be goofy at times, but is very laid back. He enjoys doing his own thing most days, which includes observing everything and sleeping in the sun. Although Tanner is a good boy, he does have some quarks to him. We suggest that if you have other dogs or animals, you feed him in a separate room where the other animals are not able to bother him. The same goes with children. He enjoys that time to himself. Tanner, does not like children which has led him to this path. We would like someone to adopt him that has no children living in the house. Unfortunately, the situation he is in now is not ideal for him. He is a good boy, that deserves to live out his golden years.
