Story
Meet Vickie: Vickie is about an 18 month old (as of June 2026) long haired small dog mix (maybe Shetland sheepdog, papillon and shepherd of sorts, best guess) that weighs about 23 pounds. Vickie was found in Memphis as a stray with her brothers (Charles and Victor) and taken into a local shelter. The 3 siblings were kenneled together and were very vocal of their disinterest of losing their freedom. They continuously barked as people passed for attention and were ultimately relocated to a back corner kennel and ultimately were overlooked by any visitors. Our rescue heard of them and were able to spring all 3 to get them into a foster home where they could decompress together freely. Vickie is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Vickie has never met a stranger and is a wonderful little buddy. Her brothers were shy and took time to settle into the foster home, but Vickie was the most outgoing and least shy of the trio. Vickie is described by her foster as one of the most affectionate and attentive dogs you could hope to find. Vickie is currently house trained to a doggie door and may need patience while adjusting to a new process. We would love for Vickie to have a home with a fenced in yard so she can run and play freely, but it is not a requirement. Vickie is up to date on her shots and spayed. Vickie had tested positive for heartworms but she has completed her rounds of treatments and is ready for the rest of her happy and healthy life to begin now! If you are interested in a little buddy, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
Meet Raya: Raya is about a 2 year old (as of August 2026) boxer mix that weighs 40 pounds. Raya was surrendered to a high kill shelter with her litter of 7 puppies when we were able to rescue them from there. Raya is currently being fostered in the Mountville, PA area and would love to meet her forever family. Raya is a very, very sweet girl! She's very friendly and loves to meet new people. She loves playing with toys or chomping on chew bones, and is food motivated. Raya just loves attention and affection from anyone willing to give it to her. She would thrive best in a home with another dog. Raya loves to play with and snuggle the resident dog in her foster home.  Raya needs owners who are patient and understanding that due to past trauma, it takes Raya a week or so to fully trust another dog and she may exhibit some guarding behaviors if she feels scared or threatened. This occurred on occasion during the first ten days or so in her foster home but now she is a loving and loyal playmate to the resident dog. Raya has NOT exhibited these behaviors towards humans and loves every person she meets and is amazing with kids! Raya is very much a shadow dog that loves to be wherever her humans are. She spends her days curled up against her foster mama on the couch and playing with her foster fur sister. Raya loves being pet and will paw for more. Raya is both crate trained and house trained. Raya walks well on a leash and would be a great walking buddy. She also does well in the car. She will happily sleep overnight in her crate but also makes the best bed buddy! Raya is up to date on her shots and is spayed. If you are interested in a sweet lady, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
** PA Foster/Adopter Needed!   Meet Buddy:  Buddy is a friendly Husky/Pyrenees/Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix that is approximately 1.5 years old (as of January 2026) and weighs 90 pounds. Buddy was found as a stray in a MS subdivision going from house to house looking for someone to help him. Thankfully he walked up to the right home and the family brought him into their home until he found a foster in PA. Buddy is being fostered in the Pottstown, PA area while he waits for his forever family to come get him. Buddy is very friendly and loves people. Buddy loves being outside either alone or with another dog. He plays nicely with his furry foster sisters, one his size and the other half his size, but does not like male dogs. We recommend no small dogs or small children because Buddy plays hard and does not realize his size. Buddy is your typical Husky/Pyrenes mix. He is very intelligent but has a stubborn side too. He knows a few commands – sit, down, paw, and look. Buddy will need additional patience and training as he continues to learn not to jump up and hug you to say hello, walk nicely on a leash, and not to counter surf. Buddy's Pyrenes and Husky show though the most as he guards the home and occasionally howls as Huskies do.  Buddy is crate trained and has not had one accident in the home. In the evening, he settles and hangs out with his human and other dogs in the home. Buddy definitely needs a fenced in yard and a family that is very active. Buddy is up to date on all his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adopting this sweet boy, please go to our website at charliescrusaders.org and fill out our adoption application.   REQUIREMENTS: Fenced in yard and a female dog in the home.   CURRENT LOCATION: Foster Home in Pottstown, PA 19464 Kennel License #17584 ##2367372##

Story
Meet Cody: Cody is a 5.5 month old (as of August 24, 2026) hound mix (best guess) that weighs about 36 pounds. This adorable litter of hounds (Ruby, Rosie, Zoe, Josie, Teddy, Jake, Levi, Cody and Wyatt) was dropped off by their owners at a high kill shelter at just 6 weeks old. The owners kept their mama, but discarded the pups. We are hopeful that mama will be spayed soon to avoid this happening again. Cody is being fostered in the Mohrsville, PA area and would love to meet his forever family! Cody is very friendly and loves meeting new people. He can be shy with adults at first but warms up quickly. Cody is amazing with children and loves getting attention and being pet.  He is very sweet and wants nothing more than to be with his humans and give kisses! Cody is a very chill, calm, laid-back guy that doesn't bark much at all. Cody is great with other dogs and is cat friendly, too. He is house trained, crate trained, and walks well on a leash. We would love for Cody to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely as he grows. Cody is up to date on his puppy shots and neutered. If you are interested in giving this sweet pup lots of love and a great life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
Meet Chunk: Chunk is about a 14 month old (as of July 2026) border collie / lab mix (best guess) that weighs about 60 pounds. Chunk was born in a shelter on May 1, 2025. His mommy and siblings had all been adopted and found their homes and he was left behind. For one year he lived in the shelter not knowing any other life. Chunk went to many adoption events where everyone loved him but no commitments were made. Due to shelter stay length without interest, he found his name on the euthanasia list! The shelter director reached out to our rescue to see if we could help this sweet guy out. We are thankful we had a spot for him and can give him the chance at the life he deserves! Chunk is now being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Chunk is a total sweetheart! He is great with all people, including children. Chunk loves attention, playing with his toys, and having snacks! Chunk could spend his days rolling in the grass and hanging out with friends and be the happiest guy around! Chunk is great with other dogs and has done well with cats, too! Chunk is house trained and crate trained and walks well on a leash. We would love for Chunk to have a home with a fenced in yard so he can roam, run, roll and play freely until his hearts content. Chunk is up to date on his shots and neutered. Chunk is such a great package and ready to be your new best friend forever!
