Story
We rescued Khloe a little over a year ago and she's a very sweet girl, loves to snuggle, has a ton of energy and is a really great companion. She has food aggression issues that have led to her biting if you attempt to get the food back from her. With two little children in our home, we've decided Khloe just isn't a great fit for our family. I do not recommend a home with children or other cats/dogs.

Story
Boo has had a lot of stressful and confusing transition in her short life. She was surrendered to our rescue after her owner was diagnosed with a serious illness. She had only been with her for a few months and previously in her original home from what we have been told she lived with other dogs in both of these homes. Due to the urgency of her situation we placed her into a foster to adopt home. This unfortunately did not work out due to an incident with the other dog in the house. She has been tested with other dogs and cats and with structure and boundaries would be ready for a new dog friend. She currently lives with a cat. We are working on some separation anxiety that developed due to her being bounced around so much. She is doing really well and loves her foster mom. Boo loves to go for walks and likes to snuggle. She is very intelligent and wants to please you. Home visit and adoption donation required. Boo is @ 1.5 yrs old.

Story
Khan is a very handsome young pit bull looking for an active/structured house. Having been abandoned at the shelter, we don't know any specifics about his background. We do know that he LOVES humans and craves attention! Khan is extremely energetic and very strong. When we first met him he had absolutely no manners. He can get overstimulated and will jump or nip to get your attention. He has completed Intro-to-Training class twice and walks with a Gentle Leader and a chest harness. He will benefit greatly from continued consistency with his training and commands. He is very smart, and he shows that he can absolutely be a good dog with consistent handling (and the right yummy incentives). He has been started on Prozac and is much calmer and able to process his surroundings much better now. His loves are car rides, walks, swimming, and PEOPLE! At 65-70 lbs his strength can be difficult to handle. His jump has a 5-6 foot clearance from standing! Khan has not shown any signs of aggression toward other dogs but he does forget his manners in an effort to play with them. We have not specifically cat-tested Khan, but he has been in our lobby where he can see cats and he is very interested in them. We suspect that he would chase anything smaller than himself. Khan is currently being treated for a hind leg joint injury and may need surgery in the future if conservative treatment fails.

Story
Bernie is a 3 y/o half Great Pyrenees/half Bernese Mountain Dog. He is goofy, loving, silly, playful and friendly. His older (non related) brother is a cattle dog mix and they have not been getting along lately. Bernie is used to a fenced in back yard and would need a leash without a fence. He loves car rides and playing at the dog park. He gets along with cats and dogs but has not really been around kids. I’ve had him since he was 9 weeks old, bought (unfortunately) and he has some mild separation anxiety. He has a typical prey drive and wants to chase bunnies, squirrels, etc. He is working on his manners but does know his basic commands. His ideal home would have plenty of outside space for him and love to give scratches and affection! If you’ve read this far, hopefully you’re still interested! Bernie does show mild food aggression towards other dogs occasionally. Other than that, he’s mostly a typical big goofy dog with a happy-go-lucky personality who does not like to miss out!

Story
Tanner is a 8 year old Bloodhound rescue mix approx. 65lbs.He is a loving old man who needs a quiet home and would love a yard to explore. He loves being outside, and does great on car rides. He is a gentle giant that, loves other people and does well with both cats and other dogs. He is housetrained, and crate trained. He can be goofy at times, but is very laid back. He enjoys doing his own thing most days, which includes observing everything and sleeping in the sun. Although Tanner is a good boy, he does have some quarks to him. We suggest that if you have other dogs or animals, you feed him in a separate room where the other animals are not able to bother him. The same goes with children. He enjoys that time to himself. Tanner, does not like children which has led him to this path. We would like someone to adopt him that has no children living in the house. Unfortunately, the situation he is in now is not ideal for him. He is a good boy, that deserves to live out his golden years.

Story
Domino Daisy here was adopted from the SPCA in August of 2023. She was reported to be good with kids, and we have four (soon to be 5) so that was great to hear. She was up to date on her shots and spayed and said to be very friendly and sweet. Those things are all true (except she may or may not need her updated rabies now, everyone is unsure because of the lack of full info when she was originally surrendered). The issues we’ve run into are that she is fearful, and strong. By which I mean she still doesn’t trust us, and without that strong trust and bond we haven’t been able to train her. So she jumps on us and knocks my little kids down and gets the zoomies outside and crashes into the kids seemingly intentionally to be close and they get hurt. She has intense nails too that hurt my kids and me honestly when she jumps on us too. And with her strong fear, if I reprimand anything she runs and hides and learns nothing. My ultimate conclusion is that she’s not the right fit.
