Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet. 9/21/23 We had an approved adopter who wanted Lily. We confirmed she was kid and cat friendly, as the adopter had a young child and cats. We thought it was a go. Lily’s foster mom sent some new pictures of Lily to them (all the pictures you see her, except the last one). They’d seen the last picture posted here, on our website but upon seeing the new pictures, they said she definitely had Pit Bull in her and given her husband had a “bad experience” with a supposed Pit mix, they no longer wanted her. They also said they were misled because of differences they saw between the original picture and the new pictures. So, Lily is being judged because she might have Pit in her, even though we know she’s kid friendly, they don’t want her. How unfortunate. We do not KNOW Lily’s breed, because she’s a rescue and we don’t know who/what her parents were and she hasn’t been DNA tested. Does she have some Pit in her? Probably, because most mixed breeds tend to have some sort of Bully breed mixed in, but Lily is probably a mix of many different breeds. Though we don’t know her breed, we do KNOW that she is a happy, friendly, loving, sweet, playful dog who deserves a family of her own!!! Here’s what her foster mom says about her- “Lily is a fantastic dog. She may look intimidating to some, but she is quite the contrary. She’s smart and eager to please. Treat motivated. She plays great with my younger and larger dogs yet knows to be gentle with my older and smaller dogs. She hasn’t had an accident in the house in weeks. She comes when she’s called unless she playing and I might have to call her a couple times. She doesn’t mind the crate when I have to leave for work. In fact, she goes in it on her own when she sees I’m getting ready to leave because she knows the routine. She’s not destructive. She loves Nylabones and other safe chew toys. She burns her energy during the day and at night she loves to snuggle up and cuddle. She loves to play with other dogs and is scared of cats! We believe she can live with cats with no issue. She has also been around kids (toddlers) and was just fine with them.” **Lily looks much bigger in pictures than she really is! She’s only about 30 pounds. She’s about 1.5 years old. Spayed, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
