Story
Gomez was found as a stray and was never reclaimed, but this gentle soul is ready to find a quiet, loving home to call his own. He’s a very shy guy who prefers a calm environment where he can sit close to his person and soak up soft, gentle pets. Gomez may take a little time to warm up, but once he feels safe, he’s perfectly content just being by your side. While he did come in with another dog, Gomez did not do well during dog testing and will need to be the only pet in the home. He thrives when he can bond closely with his person without the stress of other animals around. Gomez is still learning his leash manners and isn’t the most confident walker yet, so he will need patience and continued training to help him build confidence. He is truly a country dog at heart and does not do well being kept behind a small fence or in a kennel. He would do best in a home with plenty of space where he can feel secure and not confined. Gomez is microchipped, fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and neutered. If you’re looking for a sweet, quiet companion who just wants a cozy spot next to you and a gentle touch — and you can offer him the space and understanding he needs — Gomez might be your perfect match.

Story
Howlywood Undead was brought in as a stray and was never reclaimed. He is a friendly, rambunctious boy who absolutely loves people and thrives on attention. He has a big personality and isn’t shy about using his voice—especially when left alone—so apartment living would likely not be the best fit for him. Howlywood is great with kids, strangers, and cats, but he is not good with other dogs or livestock, so a home where he can be the only dog is recommended. He is potty trained when taken out frequently and does best with a consistent routine. He did well being left alone and will continue to thrive with structure and regular outings. True to his heeler breed, Howlywood can be mouthy and does like to nip, and he can jump up which may result in scratches. This behavior is not aggressive, but adopters should be prepared to work on manners and provide appropriate outlets for his energy. He loves going on walks and enjoys getting out and about. Howlywood walks fairly well on a leash but can be very excitable and is still learning to walk calmly at your side. He rides great in the car and loves attention, being pet, cuddling up, and cozy warm blankets. His foster describes him as a great dog who just wants to be loved. Howlywood Undead is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and on prevention.

Story
Kaloni was brought in with a puppy and sadly was never reclaimed. He’s a friendly, energetic guy who clearly doesn’t enjoy shelter life and is eager to get back to the comforts of a real home. Kaloni is dog friendly but not a good fit for a home with cats. While he has done well indoors, he is not fully potty trained yet and will need a little consistency and patience as he continues learning. Kaloni is a very sweet boy, a fast learner, and truly wants to please, which will make training a rewarding experience. He’s still learning to walk politely on a leash but improves more every day. Kaloni is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed. He is heartworm negative and on prevention.

Casienova

American Pit Bull Terrier

Female, 6 yrs 11 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Details
Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Casienova (Casie) is a loving, gentle girl who adores belly rubs and head scratches. She’s a big sweetheart with a wiggly rump once she gets the attention she craves. While she can be a bit anxious and tries to avoid kennel moves, she settles well once in her crate—she just needs a little help getting inside. Casie is housebroken, friendly with strangers, and enjoys cuddles and attention. She can be vocal when she feels ignored or when other dogs bark around her. She’s good with small dogs but still learning how to be gentle with them. She has shown some barrier aggressin here at the shelter, but her foster said she did good with other dogs, so a meet and greet with any current pets is highly recommended. Due to her energy level and tendency to chew on fencing, Casie will do best in a home with a privacy fence. She also has a severe flea allergy that requires prescription flea and tick prevention. Casienova was recently adopted and returned through no fault of her own. She thrives in calm environments and will do best with a patient, loving family who can help her feel secure and loved. She is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm negative, and on prevention.

Story
Bear was surrendered due to his owner’s health and is now ready to start a new chapter with a family of his own. He is a very happy-go-lucky puppy who absolutely loves attention and isn’t shy about soaking up all the pets and affection you’re willing to give! Bear came in with another dog and should be dog friendly. His playful, upbeat personality would likely make him a great companion for another canine buddy. We’re still getting to know him and will continue to share updates as his personality shines through even more. Bear has received 2 of his 3 DHPP vaccinations, a Bordetella vaccination, microchip, and dewormer.
