All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption Fee: $850   Toast is an 8 month old Miniature Labradoodle who is ready to serve up a plate of cuteness topped with love! Toast was rescued from the shelter with a few of his furry friends. We don’t know how a guy as handsome as Toast could’ve been left behind, but we know that his future is looking delicious! We scooped him up, covered him in jam, and promised him the best forever home in the world, like he deserves! Toast is a hypoallergenic dog who is an option for those with allergies. Interested homes should be prepared to discuss grooming and coat maintenance. Don’t let this handsome hunk pop out of the toaster without scooping him up! Adopt Toast!     Toast is the perfect start to any morning meal! He is friendly and affectionate and loves soaking up all the pets and snuggles his foster home has to offer. He loves cuddling and snoozing on any open lap he can find. He would love an endless pile of toys in his forever home and loves zooming around the house with his plushie of the day. He loves his snuggle time but also loves his zoomies. We think he would be a fabulous addition to any summer adventures you have planned, as he has a smile that never dims and a tail that never stops wagging. Toast is also super smart and very food motivated, which makes every training session a complete blast. Toast would love a home where he can be adored like he deserves. He is so handsome and he has such a bright outlook on life despite being left behind by his former family. We know he will be the apple of his forever family’s eye and we can’t wait to see all the adventures he gets up to ahead! Toast’s party trick? He loves to dance when you hold him up. He’s already mastered the Cha Cha and he can’t wait to learn the Waltz! What more could you want in such a handsome gentleman?  Toast starts his morning at 7 AM with a big stretch as he hops off the recliner he spends the night snoozing in. He heads outside for a morning potty before he trots back inside for breakfast. He eats breakfast at 8 AM and then spends his morning alternating between napping, getting snuggles, and playing with his ever-expanding pile of plush toys. Toast gets a walk in the afternoon where he eagerly greets his canine neighbors with a wagging tail and a smile on his face. He eats his dinner at 5 PM and then spends his evening sniffing around the backyard as his foster family unwinds from the day. He then gets some cuddles and pets on the couch as his foster family watches TV. After one last potty break, he hops back up onto his recliner and snoozes the night away. Toast adores every dog he meets and even gets along with the resident cat who is tolerant of her dog visitors. Toast would love a playful companion in his forever home, but he would also be just fine as the solo receiver of your love. Toast is learning how to walk on a leash. His forever home should be prepared to continue his training and socialization that his foster home has started. Toast is ready and eager to find his forever family to show him all the adventure and excitement the world has to offer!     Toast is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 10. July 26, 2024, 2:33 pm

Story
Lexi was adopted as a puppy in 2016 and was bonded to her elderly adopter until her passing December 2023. Adopter's husband has been caring for Lexi since then, but decided to euthanize her as he is not able to care for her any longer. His granddaughter posted on Facebook urgently seeking someone to re-home her and I scooped her up. She has already become my shadow — when she's not trotting around the yard getting her sniffs and old lady zoomies in, she's snoozing next to me on the couch. Her previous owner had grandchildren of all ages whom Lexi loved! Lexi is mellow, smiley, and sweet. She is housebroken and enjoys short walks when it's not too hot.
