Rescued: 7/19/2022 Age at the time of rescue: 3 years Current weight: 8 pounds What an amazing survivor! Cruiser has beaten the odds and is living his best life, but we know he deserves more than a shelter life. He was hit by a car and never take to a veterinarian for evaluation. His spinal column was crushed leaving him without the ability to control his bowel or urine heartbreakingly. He uses his diapers and is such a good boy! Full of energy, love and desire for life. He is fast in his wheelchair and loves running around. We are looking for a home that understands his challenges, but welcomes his passion for life. We provide him some special food to help with his challenges, but he's thriving! Fully vetted, sterilized and ready to fly home with his wheelchair! I may be a senior, but let me tell you, I’ve still got plenty of love and energy to go around. I’m a total indoor dog—I mean, who needs the great outdoors when you’ve got all the cozy comforts of home, right? Whether it’s rain or shine, I’m perfectly content to do my business outside and then hurry back indoors for some quality snuggle time. Toys? Oh, I can’t get enough of them! Soft, crinkly, you name it—I’ll play with anything you give me.  I do not need a fenced yar, as long as you always go out with me.. Sure, I enjoy the occasional walk, but I’m not dependent on it for bathroom breaks. I’m more of a in-and-out kind of guy when it comes to outdoor activities. Plus, I’m not the best on a leash and new things can make me a little nervous, so having a safe and secure yard where I can play without worry sounds like a dream. But let me tell you, when it comes to snuggles, I’m the absolute best. I’ll cuddle up with you for hours on end, bringing joy and warmth to your home every single day. I am prone to allergies and ear infections. To keep these in check, I am on the Adored Beast Leaky Gut allergy protocol.  I also eat raw rabbit, which is the best protein source for me.  I love it so much, there are no words!  My allergies have also improved considerably since I started on this yummy food and supplements.  I do also have dry eye, fairly common to my breed and I just need an eye drop in each eye, twice a day.  I don’t mind this at all because I know it will make my eyes more comfortable. So if you’re looking for a loving companion who’s just as happy playing with toys as he is snuggling up on the couch, then look no further—I’m your guy, Archie, ready to bring a whole lot of love into your life! I’m a 7-year-old Shih Tzu, and if you’ve ever dreamed of having your own personal Ewok, I might just be the gal for you! At 10 pounds, I’m the perfect size for snuggling up on the couch or being carried around—which is something I love. I’m a laid-back little lady who enjoys exploring the yard (though I do get a little sneaky and might try to crawl under a fence if there’s a gap). When we’re out and about, I’m calm but prefer being held over walking on a leash. I’m not fully potty trained yet, but I’m working on it. I do well on a leash for short potty breaks and exercise, but I sometimes freeze and need a little encouragement. A family with patience will help me continue to improve! At home, I’m an excellent companion—I can be left alone outside of a crate without getting into trouble, and I’m just as comfortable resting in a crate if needed. I have dry eyes and need a little extra TLC with my eye drops and ointment, but I’m very cooperative about it. Soft food is my preference since I only have a few teeth left, but I’m not picky about treats! I get along with cats, kids, and even big dogs. I’m a 3-year-old Shih Tzu with a sweet and gentle soul. I might seem a bit shy at first—I like to take my time to warm up to new people and places. When I first arrived here, I felt safest in my crate and needed some space. Now, I like to hang out in the same room as my humans and feel much more at ease. I’m doing really well with my house training, especially when I’m kept on a schedule. My crate is my little safe haven, but I do prefer to sleep close to my people at night. I’ve recently discovered how much fun toys can be and love to play with other dogs. Treats are also pretty awesome, and spending time in the yard is one of my favorite things. Sometimes loud noises and busy places make me a little nervous, and I’m still getting the hang of leash walking. I might freeze up on walks, but with a bit of patience, I’m slowly building my confidence. I’d love a fenced yard so I can feel free and safe while I explore. There’s a playful, happy dog inside of me, and I know that with time, love, and trust, my true personality will shine even more. I even do a little dance when I’m excited! My name is Bruce, and I’m an 8-month-old Shih Tzu puppy with a big personality packed into my tiny 7-pound frame. I’m the kind of pup who lights up every room I enter—people just can’t resist my charm! At home, I’m a bundle of energy and fun. I love to zoom around, play with my favorite toys (I’m partial to cat-sized ones since I’m such a little guy), and chew on tasty bones. I get along great with kids and even respect the resident cats! I’m still mastering my potty-training and crate training skills. I do bark a bit when left alone or crated at first, but I settle down quickly and wait patiently for you. When we’re out and about, I do get a little nervous in new situations—it’s all just so exciting and different! But with a leash in hand, I’m ready to explore the world with you. I don’t need a fenced yard since I love my daily walks. I’m loyal, loving, and oh-so-cute! Whether we’re playing or snuggling, I’ll always do my best to bring smiles and love to your life. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! P lease note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Hi, my name is Koda, which means friend or companion in Native American. I will be your forever friend especially if you have treats. I do get excited but foster mommy is teaching me to be a lady. I am very food motivated as you can see by my generous waistline. My foster mommy feeds me just the right amount of kibble to make sure I am healthy. I love playing with my toys, which gives me some exercise but going for strolls are just as fun! I really like being the center of attention and will let you know if you are giving too much love to another by using my signature basketball block out move :)! Well, a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do! I do well with the doggie door, but I do not like to go outside and get my feet wet when it has been raining. I'm just a girly kind of girl.
