Story
Brodie and his two sisters, Bubbles and Buttercup were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd this year so they are nine months old. Brodie has been neutered, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. He’s also microchipped. He weighs just under 12 pounds and is probably full grown now. Brodie is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. He needs a little practice on the leash and he’s making great progress on his house training. Brodie absolutely loves being held! He is a real snuggler! He would be fine with older children, and he loves his sisters so after proper intro he would like other 4 legged family members. If you would like to give this super affectionate love bug his forever home, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you do not see a response, please check your spam folder.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Sunday, December 7th from 10:30-11:30 am. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.      Gravy is the perfect little scoop of comfort—warm, smooth, and happiest when he’s poured right at your feet. He’s a gentle, sweet-natured pup who likes to pretend he’s shy at first, but really he’s just deciding where to place his future favorite nap spot… which is probably wherever you are. He adores other dogs and thinks having a canine buddy is pretty much the best thing ever. He naps with them, follows them around, and occasionally tries to convince them he’s faster than he actually is. He’s also great with older kids who understand that small dogs aren’t indestructible, even if they bounce like rubber balls when they’re excited. Gravy is a champion sleeper and snoozes beautifully in his crate—especially if you let him sleep nearby so he can keep tabs on you. During the day, he happily settles for little naps with the other dogs, and he doesn’t mind hanging out in his crate for short stretches when needed. Potty training is still a work in progress, but he has mastered the art of backyard potty breaks and is learning that the leash is not, in fact, a noodle monster. He’s playful, affectionate, gentle, skittish in a cute baby-deer-on-ice way, and always ready to offer a soft little tail wag as encouragement. Gravy is loyal, loving, and just waiting to become someone’s constant companion and cozy little shadow. If you’re searching for a happy, bouncy pup who wants nothing more than to be your devoted, fuzzy sidekick, Gravy is ready to bring a whole lot of love—and maybe some wiggles—into your home. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  T his puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours, or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is to place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs. Visit this link  www.underdogrescuemn.com/donate   to donate.  (Please note: A Paypal account is not necessary to use Paypal. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Krystal is a gorgeous Japanese Chin with a silky coat, a princess attitude, and a talent for staking out every cozy pillow in the house like it’s her personal throne. She adores her chosen person with her whole heart and will melt into gentle pets, lean in for affection, and hand out the sweetest little kisses. Once she feels safe with you, she becomes your loyal, fluffy shadow who wants to be loved, admired, and occasionally worshiped. She’s a curious explorer who insists on inspecting every corner of every room, and she’s bold enough to hop onto tables if she suspects snacks or interesting treasures might be hiding there. Once, she tried to drink from her foster mom’s glass and sent water flying, and she seemed extremely proud of her investigative work. She loves freeze-dried alligator treats, blueberries, soft beds, fluffy pillows, and rolling around on her back in the grass like a tiny woodland creature living her best life. Outside, Krystal enjoys short walks and slow adventures, especially when she can sniff around like she’s reading the neighborhood gossip. She walks politely on leash, rides well in the car, and is fully potty trained with a good routine. She sleeps quietly in her crate overnight and will give only a brief “how dare you leave me” protest bark when crated during the day. Krystal is sweet, affectionate, smart, and eager to please, but she also has a spicy streak that makes her a bit of a diva. She tends to guard her special person and has strong opinions about sharing love and attention. She can snap when she feels insecure or overwhelmed, and she has been unpredictable at times with adults of all genders. With dogs, she is still learning manners and has shown jealousy toward both males and females, especially if they dare receive attention in her presence. Her favorite foster dog is Sylvester, whom she occasionally “romances,” but even he needs reminders about personal space. Because of all this, Krystal needs an experienced, patient adopter who understands dog behavior and can gently help her feel safe and confident. She would thrive best as the only pet in a calmer home, ideally with one primary person. She’s not a match for children, but she could be a wonderful companion for an adult who appreciates a quirky, loving, slightly dramatic little dog with a big personality. Krystal is beautiful, bright, funny, and full of potential. With the right person who can guide her with kindness and structure, she’ll blossom into the loyal little companion she so badly wants to be. Story
Meet Nilla Bean a 5 year old Papillon and Chihuahua mix, who is a happy story of transformation.  While she still has spicy energy and excitement about life as a dog, she is far from the resource guarding pup she was 2 months ago.  She has learned how to play with toys to amuse herself, and incorporate the zoomies alone or with an agreeable dog to expel excess energy.   She also tolerates timeouts in the crate when she gets overwhelmed.  She loves to explore the fenced in yard and shows no signs of wanting to escape.  She occasionally potties in the house but mostly she does her business outside.  She would benefit from walks or dog park visits (after she has bonded with her human).  She loves snuggles and massages and sleeps happily through the night with her humans.  She settled well in the car the few times she’s been a passenger.  She’s a vigilant pup, noticing every movement or sound, and does bark at new noises or people.  For new people visiting, I have her on leash or in the crate until they are in and settled so she can sniff and check things out without the stress of arrival greetings and movement.  She is more comfortable every week with new experiences.  She responds to calm instructions, such as ‘you’re ok’, or ‘come here’ or ‘no bark’ etc.  She is treat and food motivated and in general is learning to trust people and a loving home.  I’m not sure how she would do with kids or cats, but again if they take it slow, I  think she will do fine.  A playful confident resident dog would be great for her, although I think with enough socialization she would also do well as an only dog.  She’s just waiting and improving her doggy skills for her forever family.   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $425.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 21, 2025, 8:38 am

Story
Hi, My name is Benny...Ben...Ben...Benny, I'm as fast as a flying squirrel and I can fly (well jump) like one too!!! I also love to make a nest and curl up in your lap and take a nap. I also gather up toys and take them to my little tree. Foster momma says it is a kennel. So, I guess that means I am kennel trained, whatever that means. I go in there when it is time to eat or foster momma leaves. I am potty trained. I learned I needed to go outside and do my business from my foster siblings. I love my foster siblings. We play chase, we wrestle, and we take turns with toys. I like to take all of them out of the basket to find the perfect toy! I am also a little scavenger if there is paper, kleenex, or anything I can tear up, consider it done!!! I would love to have a family that is as active as I am. I am a busy body. Now, about my back story. I was found in a grocery store parking lot. The nice ladies tried to find my family, but were unable. They reached out to God's Dogs and asked them if I could join their family and here I am. That night I met my foster momma, grandmomma, and siblings. I DO NOT LIKE HATS!!! Foster momma had one on and I did not want to go anywhere near her. So, if you think you can handle a little squirrel, adopt me. I am your guy!!! Local adoption fee is $400 out of state adoption fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $650
