Harley is a wonderful, 8 year old dog who does well with children but not other dogs, specially bigger ones. He is protective and full of playful personality. Needs extra attention to have him fully house trained. He is a beautiful companion and very intelligent. He always wants to play and run. He loves open fenced areas to be free in and run around. He always wants attention and deserves an owner that has the time to dedicate to him and his vibrant personality. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Luffy - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey hey all you fabulous people out there. My name is Luffy and I'm here looking to adopt me a family, a home...one I can say will be all mine! And since you're reading this, I'm hoping that you'll consider making ME a part of yours!!!! I is a real sweetheart, adorable and playful year-old pup coming in at about 16lbs that is an on the go and energetic. I is sure to win over your heart with my charming ways and playful personality. I is ready to start this next chapter in life with lots of puppy kisses, tail wags and playtime with my new family!! I has a lot of energy and playfulness that makes me the perfect companion for lots of adventures, everything from the mundane daily to your weekend exciting. I do great with the other foster pups here but would do just fine getting ALL the attention as your one and only. I would probably do best in an adult only home or with older kiddos (10+), as sometimes I can play kinda rough. I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting any of those creatures y'all call a cat. I do great with people and my dream is an active family that would love to have a tag-a-long to share in all the joys of hanging your head out the car window, going on sniffaries or sleeping on the ground on camping trips. I am up to trying them all...and having a blast doing them with you! I am crate trained but still working on the house training so I will need continued encouragement. I so love sleeping in bed, of course...snuggled up to you but I sometimes need to go out to potty thru the night. I seem to have a larger dome head and although it hasn't been confirmed, the vets seem to think I could possibly have hydrocephalus which is a condition where an abnormal accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) inside the skull causes the brain to swell and increase pressure. There are some treatment options that vary depending on the cause and severity of hydrocephalus, but may include medication to reduce fluid production, surgical shunting to drain the excess fluid, or in severe cases, palliative care. Some breeds like the chihuahua naturally have a dome shaped head and don't always indicate a problem. This doesn't seem to affect my sweet personality and I'm just a happy happy boy that is ready to live life to the fullest! There just isn't anything like the pure pleasure I feel when I catch a glimpse of you from across the yard, if I happen to get that far away! You can see it on my lil face and in my body, I am so darn happy to see you even if it was just 2 seconds ago! I am definitely a shadow pup, even when the sun is hiding behind clouds, sticking close and following you...everywhere!! I am sooooo ready to unleash all this awesomeness on a family and be that lil heartbeat at your feet or maybe preferably on your lap, so if you think I'd be a pawsome fit for you and your lifestyle, please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application! It can be found at haydudeequine.org

Meet Boots! Boots is a male Shih Tzu with silky black fur, a white chest, and adorable white paws that suit his name perfectly. He was born in December, 2024 and he’s playful, affectionate, and full of puppy energy! Boots loves playing with other dogs and even gets along with cats. If he is adopted by a family who already has another small dog, it should be one with similar energy and playfulness. Boots enjoys walks, meeting new people, and playing fetch (he’ll bring the ball back a few times before moving on to the next adventure!). He’s doing well with potty training, especially in the mornings, but will need frequent, continued consistency throughout the day to reinforce his training. Because he is working on his house training, he would do best in a home where someone is around during the day. Boots would benefit from attending general puppy training classes as well. Boots is a snuggler with a big personality—he’ll even let out a bark if he feels left out! He may gently nibble ears when excited, and supervision is necessary if he has interaction with children. A fenced yard is a must—Boots loves running and bringing his toys outside to burn off energy. He’s looking for a loving home that can match his playful spirit and help him grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. These are the requirements for Boots’ new family: 1. Because Shih Tzus can live 16+ years, applications will be only be accepted from age appropriate individuals who will be able to provide the care and attention Boots needs for the rest of his life. 2. A family who is home much of the day and who will continue Boots’ training. Attending puppy training classes is strongly encouraged. 3. Another small dog in the family with similar energy and activity would be great, but Boots would be okay as an only dog too. 4. A family with children over the age of ten who have had experience in gently and respectfully interacting with a small dog, especially a puppy, will be considered. 5. A secure, fenced yard where Boots will be supervised is a must. He loves running outdoors and needs the opportunity to release his puppy energy. 6. Commit to attending the annual Shih Tzu rescue reunion held in September every year. Boots is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and on heartworm and flea/tick preventative. His adoption fee is $520.00 plus sales tax of $46.93 for a total of $566.93. To meet Boots, please complete an adoption application at the website listed in the first paragraph. Or you can also see him and the other dogs available for adoption from Shih Tzu Rescue of Minnesota by visiting with us from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon the first Saturday of every month at the Southtown PetCo in Bloomington, MN

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Come and meet me at an Adoption Event!! I will be at the Wayzata Chuck & Don's 1135 Wayzata Blvd, Wayzata, MN 55391 on Saturday, June 14th 1:00-3:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.        Hi there, I’m Ashby — an 8.5-pound puffball of puppy dreams, on a mission to grow up happy, healthy, and totally loved. I may be little, and I may be a bit shy, but don’t let my timid start fool you — once I trust you, I’m all tail wags and puppy joy. I’ve been busy learning what it means to be a dog in a warm, safe home, and let me tell you, discovering toys, cozy kennels, and the occasional sunbeam nap has been absolutely magical. I’m still a baby — six months old — and have some growing to do, both physically and emotionally. My vet found a few little quirks to keep an eye on: some stubborn baby teeth that’ll need to be pulled when I get neutered, a bit of an overbite that just needs watching, and some teeny hairs in my eyelids (I know, weird) that caused a scratch. Nothing serious now, but definitely things for my forever family to keep an eye on. What I lack in size I make up for in heart. I adore other dogs — seriously, all sizes, from tiny lap pups to big, bouncy besties. I learn so much from my doggie friends, and I’ll absolutely need one in my forever home to help me build confidence and teach me the ropes. I love to play (sometimes a bit too enthusiastically), so a dog who can handle puppy energy is a must. People? I’m curious, even if I don’t quite know what to do with them yet. I like to hover near my foster mom and watch her, clearly saying, “I want to trust you... I’m just not there yet.” I’m not into pets or cuddles yet, but I’m working on it. I need a home that’s quiet, calm, and full of patience. My crate is my comfort zone — I tuck myself in at bedtime and store all my treasures in there like a tiny, toy-hoarding dragon. I’m not potty trained yet, and I’m still figuring out crate manners and leash stuff — honestly, harnesses and walks are kind of terrifying right now. But I’m smart, observant, and eager to learn. I just need time, love, and a safe space to grow at my own pace. A fenced yard is a must for me right now since I’m a bit of a flight risk when I get scared. If you’ve got a big heart, a gentle soul, and a playful pup who’s ready to show me the way, I think we might just be a perfect match. I may take some time to bloom, but I promise — once I do, it’s going to be something beautiful. **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters. Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter. Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized. If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.  This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion.   Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward. ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now? Please consider sponsoring an Underdog. Your donation will help us buy dog food and pay for medical costs.
