Story
My name is Fiona and I am a sweet bundle of energy! I am a very loyal companion who wants all your attention and absolutely love children! Although I sometimes have to be reminded not to jump I’m getting better at that. I am not a fan of cats when they run. It makes me want to chase them. I am more fond of women sometimes men can scare me at first, but once I get to know them and with a few treats I’ll be your best friend. I enjoy being around dogs. Except I don’t care for dogs with high energy like me. It makes me nervous. I really love to go on runs and I love my toys...I love chew toys. I do better in my crate after I’ve had plenty of exercise and if you have dogs at home meeting them first would make me feel better. I absolutely love water. My foster mom bought me my own kiddy pool and it’s my favorite thing to do besides following around my foster mama. I’ve been living with two children, age two and seven and I love my foster kids. When I finally am awake I am a big cuddle bug. I like to give hugs and kisses if you let me, I am a big baby with a huge heart of gold! I love to talk/bark when I get excited my tail wags like crazy and I will do spins in circles to show you how cute and smart I am. I catch on pretty quickly to routines and overall just want to be around my people. I know my perfect home is out there and would love to meet you to see if you are the one. I'm almost 2 yrs old, and weigh approximately 40 pounds. Puppy kisses Fiona ♥️ 🐾 If interested in adopting Fiona, please fill out our adoption application: info@salvagedsoulspetrescue.org.

Story
Patch had a rough start to rescue life. He came to us well behaved and not underfed: about the only two good things he had going for him. His skin had a severe yeast and bacteria infection, making his whole body an itchy, flaky, red uncomfortable mess. To make matters worse, he had a bad reaction to the first round of meds and his lowered immune system allowed bronchitis to settle in. The good news? He was brought in to the vet ASAP, and on the new cycle of meds his cough cleared up, and his skin began healing soon after. None of these things had gotten this guy down. Now that he has the energy, he enjoys chasing the squirrels in the backyard and gathering all the dog toys in a happy little pile. He pulls a bit on walks and needs coaxing to walk into wet grass to do his business. He’ll need careful diet and monitoring, and a simple pill regimen to keep his allergies in check. He does, however, keeps chewing to dog toys and treats. No ruined shoes or kiddo toys at all. He has been given free rein of the house while we’re gone and we’ve had no issues. He is smart and responsive to corrective verbal commands. Velcro dog, will follow you to every room. Snuggles so hard he might squeeze you out of your bed. This guy will fit in to nearly any home environment that can give him the patience and attention that he needs to stay happy and healthy.

Story
Meet Paris 🩷 Some puppies are the life of the party. Paris is the one who finds her favorite person and says, "Cool... I'll be right here." Born around May 2026, this 12-pound sweetheart is a gentle little soul who believes life is better with cuddles, playtime, and someone nearby to share it all with. Paris is part of our East Texas crew who came into rescue after mom, Sabine, and another mama, Trinity, were surrendered to a small rural shelter with their eight puppies. We couldn't leave them behind, so we made the trip to Deep East Texas and brought the whole family into NTASR. Now, after being loved, cared for, and growing into her own little personality, Paris is ready for a forever family. We know mom is a Mini Aussie, but dad? Your guess is as good as ours! Paris is a one-of-a-kind mystery mix with her own special combination of traits, quirks, and puppy magic. And honestly... we think the mystery makes her even more fun. Paris is a little bit of an introvert, but once she loves you, she loves you. She'll let you know when she thinks you've been gone too long, when it's time for attention, and when cuddles are officially required. She's playful, affectionate, and has the sweetest little expressions that make you wonder what exactly is happening inside that adorable puppy brain. And then there's her little star. Paris has the cutest star-shaped marking on her chest that makes her impossible to miss. It's almost like she came with her own built-in reminder that she was meant to shine. Now that her puppy vaccines are complete, Paris is ready for all the fun parts of growing up: training, socialization, adventures, and finding the people who will love her forever. If you're looking for a puppy who's equal parts cuddle bug, gentle companion, and tiny best friend, Paris is ready to steal your heart. 🩷

Story
Meet Mimic 💙 Mimic is the kind of dog who reminds us why second chances matter. When she arrived at rescue, we were told she needed immediate medical care for what appeared to be a broken back leg. After further evaluation, we discovered the truth was even more heartbreaking — Mimic had suffered an old femur fracture that had healed incorrectly. Her leg had been left with little function, and she was unable to properly use it or bear weight. But Mimic was given the chance she deserved. Our orthopedic team took on the challenge of repairing her leg, and after nearly five hours of surgery, her femur was carefully re-broken and repaired. Today, Mimic is walking on that leg, putting weight on it, and continuing the hard work of recovery through rehabilitation. Watching her go from a leg that once dangled behind her to confidently using it again has been nothing short of incredible. Now, this beautiful one-year-old Standard Australian Shepherd is ready to start the next chapter of her story. Mimic is smart, curious, and eager to be part of everything her people are doing. She loves being outside, exploring her surroundings, and staying close to her humans. She isn’t the type of dog who wants to wander off — she wants to know where her people are and be included in the adventure. She is also a big fan of toys and treats, which makes training much easier because Mimic is motivated and ready to learn. She is currently working on her foundation skills, including house training, basic manners, and understanding what life as a family dog looks like. Like many dogs who have experienced uncertainty, Mimic is also learning that she doesn’t need to protect the things she loves. She is working through some resource guarding around toys with the help of her foster family, who are providing patience, structure, and positive guidance. Mimic enjoys the other dogs in her foster home and is continuing to build confidence with play and social interactions. She is still discovering that the world can be a safe and happy place, and she is making progress every single day. Mimic isn’t looking for a family to feel sorry for her. She’s looking for a family who will celebrate how far she has come and give her the time, patience, and consistency she needs to continue thriving. The girl will bob-and-weave for hours for treats! She’s walking well and building back muscle in that leg and retraining her brain to use that leg again. Getting stronger. But when she stands, she shifts all her weight to her good leg. Mimic will likely need a little more PT when she goes to her forever home to continue to retrain her brain to use the leg and continue to build muscle mass.  Her ideal home will be one that understands the intelligence and sensitivity of an Australian Shepherd, enjoys helping a dog learn, and wants a companion who will be right by their side for all of life’s adventures. Mimic has spent enough time surviving. Now she’s ready to be loved, included, and finally experience what it means to be someone’s dog. ❤️

Story
Meet Rocky 🐾 Rocky came to NTASR as part of the Smith County hoarding case, where 38 dogs were rescued from unimaginable conditions. While we'll never know everything he experienced before rescue, we do know one thing for certain: his past does not define him. It's simply one chapter of his story, and the best chapters are still ahead. If you're looking for a low-maintenance best friend, Rocky may just be your perfect match. This sweet, snuggly boy is the definition of a velcro dog. His favorite place in the world is curled up beside (or preferably on) his person. Whether you're watching TV, reading a book, or working from home, Rocky is happiest simply being close to you. He's already mastered all the important house manners. Rocky is potty trained, crate trained (he'll happily go in when asked!), walks nicely on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and has an easygoing personality that's hard not to love. He enjoys leisurely sniffing around outside but is just as content relaxing on the couch and watching the world go by. Naps are definitely one of his favorite hobbies. Like many dogs from difficult situations, new experiences can make him a little unsure at first. He's especially cautious around unfamiliar men, but with a little patience, kindness, and a few tasty treats, he continues to build confidence every day. Underneath that initial hesitation is a curious boy who genuinely wants to trust and explore. Rocky gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is more of a "roommate" than a wrestling partner. He doesn't need a playmate, but he's perfectly happy sharing his space with another calm, respectful dog. He has shown a little possessiveness around his food bowl with other dogs, so feeding separately is all that's needed. He hasn't met cats or children yet, but based on his gentle nature, we think he'd likely do well with thoughtful introductions. At around 33 pounds, Rocky is the perfect medium-sized cuddle buddy. He'd likely adjust well to many homes, but we think he'd truly thrive in a quieter, laid-back household where he can soak up all the love, cozy naps, and quality time with his people. If your dream dog is calm, affectionate, incredibly sweet, and happiest simply by your side, Rocky is ready to fill that role. All he needs now is a family to show him that home is forever. ❤️
