Story
My name is Fiona and I am a sweet bundle of energy! I am a very loyal companion who wants all your attention and absolutely love children! Although I sometimes have to be reminded not to jump I’m getting better at that. I am not a fan of cats when they run. It makes me want to chase them. I am more fond of women sometimes men can scare me at first, but once I get to know them and with a few treats I’ll be your best friend. I enjoy being around dogs. Except I don’t care for dogs with high energy like me. It makes me nervous. I really love to go on runs and I love my toys...I love chew toys. I do better in my crate after I’ve had plenty of exercise and if you have dogs at home meeting them first would make me feel better. I absolutely love water. My foster mom bought me my own kiddy pool and it’s my favorite thing to do besides following around my foster mama. I’ve been living with two children, age two and seven and I love my foster kids. When I finally am awake I am a big cuddle bug. I like to give hugs and kisses if you let me, I am a big baby with a huge heart of gold! I love to talk/bark when I get excited my tail wags like crazy and I will do spins in circles to show you how cute and smart I am. I catch on pretty quickly to routines and overall just want to be around my people. I know my perfect home is out there and would love to meet you to see if you are the one. I'm almost 2 yrs old, and weigh approximately 40 pounds. Puppy kisses Fiona ♥️ 🐾 If interested in adopting Fiona, please fill out our adoption application: info@salvagedsoulspetrescue.org.

Story
Patch had a rough start to rescue life. He came to us well behaved and not underfed: about the only two good things he had going for him. His skin had a severe yeast and bacteria infection, making his whole body an itchy, flaky, red uncomfortable mess. To make matters worse, he had a bad reaction to the first round of meds and his lowered immune system allowed bronchitis to settle in. The good news? He was brought in to the vet ASAP, and on the new cycle of meds his cough cleared up, and his skin began healing soon after. None of these things had gotten this guy down. Now that he has the energy, he enjoys chasing the squirrels in the backyard and gathering all the dog toys in a happy little pile. He pulls a bit on walks and needs coaxing to walk into wet grass to do his business. He’ll need careful diet and monitoring, and a simple pill regimen to keep his allergies in check. He does, however, keeps chewing to dog toys and treats. No ruined shoes or kiddo toys at all. He has been given free rein of the house while we’re gone and we’ve had no issues. He is smart and responsive to corrective verbal commands. Velcro dog, will follow you to every room. Snuggles so hard he might squeeze you out of your bed. This guy will fit in to nearly any home environment that can give him the patience and attention that he needs to stay happy and healthy.

Story
Meet Milksteak 🥛✨ AKA Wally, professional cuddle bug and full time lap dog. Milksteak is a 25 pound standard Australian Shepherd and double merle who was rescued from a breeder that planned to cull him because of his disabilities. Their loss, honestly, because this little guy is pure joy wrapped in fluffy chaos energy. Wally is deaf, but you’d never know it slows him down. He’s adventurous, playful, ridiculously affectionate, and fully convinced every human he meets was put on earth specifically to love him. He wants to be touching his people at all times if possible. Lap? Perfect. Couch? Amazing. Bed? Obviously. One unexpected perk to his deafness? Fireworks, thunderstorms, loud chaos... none of it bothers him. While other dogs are panicking, Wally is usually asleep somewhere upside down without a care in the world. He’s crate trained, potty trained, walks nicely on leash, and gets along great with dogs, cats, and kids. He’s food motivated, clever, curious, and always ready for the next adventure or snack opportunity. He's fully vetted and ready for his furever home. He does have an independent little streak mixed in with all that snuggly sweetness, which honestly just adds to his charm. Milksteak is the kind of dog that makes people fall in love instantly. He’s goofy, resilient, endlessly loving, and proof that “different” never means less.

Story
Meet Ford — the quiet soul who's learning life can be good. 🤍 When animal control entered a filthy home in Smith County, they found 38 dogs living in heartbreaking conditions. Ford was one of them. NTASR welcomed 21 of those dogs into rescue, and while Ford's past may have been difficult, we're determined to make sure his future is anything but. Estimated to be between 2 and 4 years old and weighing about 22 pounds, Ford is a gentle Mini Aussie with the sweetest heart. He's naturally shy and cautious around new people and experiences, and he'll need an adopter who understands that trust isn't something you rush—it's something you earn. Every day, Ford gets a little braver. He's learning that people can be kind. That home is a safe place. That good things happen when you take a chance. Food just happens to be one of those very good things. Nothing builds Ford's confidence quite like a tasty snack, and it's been one of the best ways to help him come out of his shell. While he may need a little encouragement to head outside, he's always happy to make his way back into the comfort of the house once he knows he's safe. Ford isn't looking for a busy household or someone expecting an instant best friend. He's looking for patience. Quiet. Consistency. Someone who understands that the biggest milestones might not look dramatic—they might be a wag, a curious glance, or choosing to sit just a little bit closer than yesterday. He's crate trained, puppy pad trained, gets along well with other dogs and cats, and would do best in a calm home where he can continue building confidence at his own pace. The adopter who chooses Ford won't just be giving him a home. They'll be watching a dog discover, one small victory at a time, that the world isn't such a scary place after all. And we have a feeling that's going to be pretty incredible.
