URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Wichita Falls, TX Meet Jolie! She is an 6 month old Australian Shepherd and weighs 19 lbs. She is up to date on shots and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t spayed. Jolie is nervous around strangers! She is good with kids and cats! No smaller dogs, due to her reactivity! Jolie wasn’t socialized while in her previous home, so she has some leash reactivity. She is fearful of bigger dogs and will need slow introductions to any dog that she meets. She is housebroken (for the most part and will let you know when she needs to go out) and crate-trained. The owner is surrendering her because she plays too rough with their other dog and her other dog is afraid of her. The owner is also expecting a new baby and won’t be able to provide the time and attention that Jolie needs. She needs to find a new home by 8/25. If you think you can provide a great home for Jolie, please contact the owner listed below. There is a rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. Denver is one of the gentlest souls we have seen. Inside the house he is the perfect dog. He doesn't chew anything up & has no accidents, he likes to lay next to you and be your buddy. He does not belong in an apartment complex, due to him being selective with other animals and being weary of people he doesn't know. We recommend a house with at least a small yard, no other animals and older children. He needs a backyard of his own where he can sniff, play and hang out with his family. He loves ear rubs and cuddles in bed. He has been returned a couple of times at no fault of his own. For now, he is at the facility getting love and walks until his forever family finds him. He was born in 2014 and is located at our rescue facility in Justin. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, heartworm preventative, heartworm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.

Kody came to me through my stepson who was unable to care for him long term. We’ve had Kody now for four years and have realized that our home is not what he needs as an Australian shepherd. He needs more time, space and stimulation than what we can give him. Because he has no “job” he’s taken to herding and protecting me as his “flock” and that’s beginning to cause issues with our other dogs in terms of resource guarding (mostly me!). Kody is timid when it comes to unknown noises and things he’s unsure of and is scared of thunder/fireworks. While he has overcome much timidity since being with us, he will require someone with patience and compassion while he adjusts to new surroundings. Kody walks well on leash, but becomes car sick easily. He is eager to please and knows basic tricks such as sit, lie down and paw. He has not been around young children or cats, so I cannot comment on his behavior in these circumstances.
