Australian Shepherd Mutt

Aubrey, TX
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less

Story
Pepper has been with us since birth as she is the sole puppy/child of our other two dogs, a pure breed Austrailian Shepherd male and a Golden-Retriever/mutt female. We didn't have the heart to give her up after she was weened because she was her parents first and only puppy. Over time she has grown into a very energetic, happy, agile, fun-loving young pup but has unfortunately become food competitive especially when around her 10yo mother. We have loved her for her entire two years of life and are sad at the thought of losing her but fear that her playful nature will result in frustration and fighting if she remains with her parents any longer. She needs a home with an owner/family who can give her lots of attention, regular exercise, and of course love, but loving her is the easiest part.

Story
Bubba is a great and loyal dog. He is so loving and loves to cuddle. He is a mix of what the vet thinks is Australian shepherd and collie. He is tri colored and beautiful. Bubba loves humans and other dogs. He really likes to play with other dogs. He gets along great with our corgi. He is house trained and crate trained. He knows how to sit, lay down and half five. His favorite toy is the brain teasers. He needs to be stimulated by having a backyard or going for long walks. He is fine with older children but he gets nervous around babies and toddlers. This is one of the reasons we need to rehome him. We found out we are expecting and do not want to make him uncomfortable. We also have a very small backyard and he needs more space. We rescued him and he is chipped. He is such a great dog but needs a family that has enough space and does not have littles. He needs someone who can give him time and attention he deserves.

Story
Hi my name is Willow! I have a very big personality. I need someone that is willing to take their sweet time to get to know me because new people are very VERY scary. Once I get to know you, I am very affectionate! I do have some separation anxiety so I will need to be crated when you leave the house. I would prefer to be the only dog. I am a very good jumper and climber so I need a very tall fence. I know I may come with terms and conditions, but I hope there's someone out there that knows I am still worthy of a home, I will be the most rewarding baby ever!Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, insurance for 30 days, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Female, Young
Denton, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Not good with dogs, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Dahlia is a loving, loyal, and very goofy girl. She is always down to play with her favorite toys, a racquet ball or tennis ball, squeaky stuffed animals or a cardboard box, she just loves to play with you. She also loves to run so a yard is a must. At night after a long walk, she loves to cuddle on the couch and sleep until it’s time for bed. Dahlia was adopted July 2022 and was a little over a year old, so i think her birthday is about June 2021. She is anxious around other dogs so would need to be the only one in the house, but I think with time and training, it’s fixable. She was attacked so she is skeptical of unfamiliar dogs. She has never been around a cat so i’m not sure how she would react around them. As for children, smaller children make her nervous since they’re so close to her face and she can get a little over excited and jumpy so it’s best to have older kids in a house. Dahlia now knows sit, down, stay(sometimes), still learning “come” but she loves learning. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Dahlia is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.April 17, 2024, 5:12 pm
