Story
We got him when he was a puppy, a bit more than a year ago. He grew up as an outside dog, spending more time outside than inside, that's why I'd say he is not house trained. He loves long walks and chew toys, he also loves car rides with the windows down. I do have to say he is vocal. He lets us know when a toy is stuck, when he wants some company, when he's ready for a walk. We live in a house that sits on .01 acre. We'd love for him to be somewhere where he has more space. My wife was a stay at home wife but she just recently got a formal job. We will not have as much time to be with him

Story
** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact Tracy Johnson; 214-697-7362 ** Meet Scout (aka Muffin.  The shelter called her Muffin, but we felt Scout was a better fit.  Feel free to re-name her when she is yours).  This soft-coated, beautiful dog is being fostered by our son in who is a college student in Waco, but Scout frequently visits us in Rowlett and will be with us most of July.  Scout is believed to be an Australian Shepherd mix, approximately 2 years old.  She is energetic, smart and loves to cuddle.  She is trained to sit & fetch, loves to go on walks and can entertain herself with her toys.   I cannot say enough wonderful things about Scout and would love to keep her, however we recommend that Scout goes to a home where she will be the only pet. She LOVES humans, smiles when she sees them, but Scout does not get along with other dogs (of any size) or cats.   Our male dog was incompatible with Scout as he can be skittish and aggressive.   After getting to know this sweet girl, we are confident she will be an amazing pet for the right person or family.  Scout is a true angel with our special needs nephew. Actually, everyone Scout meets falls in love with her, especially the neighborhood kids.   She is also great in the car (road trips or running errands)  she’s a little doll in public stores.   Also, she rarely has an accident in the house and is crate trained. Scout has been spayed.  At this time, she is heartworm positive, but scheduled for treatment in Waco on July 17th.   We will take care of this expense and will provide heartworm prevention medication for one year. We are committed to finding her a home as the Waco shelter does euthanize and we are not going to allow that to happen. Please contact us if you are interested.   We have plenty of videos and pictures to share.July 26, 2024, 8:27 pm

Story
My girl has been with me for two and a half years. I love her dearly but I have to find her a new home. I have a new grandson that I am babysitting every week and Snickers is not used to little kids because she has never been around them. She adores me and is a very loyal pet. She minds well. She sits, stays, lays down, shakes, plays ball and speaks! She sleeps in bed with me every night and gives me kisses on command. Her favorite thing is chasing squirrels and she would have been an excellent herder! She is absolutely beautiful and her breeder chose not to cut her tail so she has a gorgeous fan tail. She accepts other dogs once she gets used to them, but is very protective and territorial of me. She would make a great pet for someone looking for an older trained dog that perhaps has a large backyard or property and doesn’t have young kids. She has been through behavioral training also. She is my heart and it has to be the right home.

Adopt Daisy, and watch as she unfolds into the wonderful canine companion she was meant to be, bringing love, joy, and a touch of reserved charm into your home.History: Daisy, a sweet pup, was initially adopted from OHAR as a young and hopeful addition to a loving family. Unfortunately, circumstances changed, and her family made the difficult decision to return her. This sudden turn of events left Daisy heartbroken and bewildered, as her familiar world crumbled around her. Now, in a new environment, Daisy is in the process of adapting to her changed circumstances. As we uncover more about Daisy's personality and journey, her bio and photos will be updated to reflect the resilient and lovable spirit that defines her.Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess
