Story
Coco is a 1 1/2 yr old neutered male brindle Border Collie/Akita mix that weighs 83 lbs and was surrendered to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 6/10 along with a housemate Bobby. He was originally adopted from the MAS on 7/24 along with his housemate Bobby. They were both surrendered on 6/10 because the owners were not allowed to tether. I am told by staff that together they are quite rambunctious. They probably feed off of each other. However, individually, they were well behaved. Coco was the calmer and well mannered of the two. Coco knows the sit command and takes treats gently. He gives kisses. He’s friendly, active (but not overly so), alert, and affectionate. He responded to his name. He did his business when he got out into the yard. He did have a strong pull on the leash. He would do best having a secured yard to run and play in, then to live indoors a home, not an apartment so he can enjoy spending time indoors with his new family. That way he could show them how much love he’s saved up for them.

Story
Henry came to us as a young pup and was diagnosed with Megaesophagus. You can see by looking at him that it does not slow him down. The absolute only thing different between him and any other dog is that he has to eat on two feet. Everything else is normal. Eating on 4 feet is not an option for him. However, he can drink and have treats on 4. He is crate, house trained, and doggie door trained. He gets along well with all size of dogs as he has several foster siblings. He is very loving and affectionate and believe it or not is sensitive. When researching this condition, ask questions as not all cases are the same. His foster has had two different ME dogs and both are very different. He needs that special person who will look after him and make sure he stays and healthy and happy as he is now. He would love to have a playmate too.

Story
Gordy is a fluffy cookie monster, trapped in the body of a Border Collie. He doesn't know how to herd livestock or chase balls. He'd rather sit pretty for treats than run after sheep.Gordy is as handsome as they come! His right ear always stands at attention, while his left cocks to the side and a smile is stretched across his face. He loves to play tag in the yard with other dogs and tries to beat the neighboring dog to the end of the fence line. Gordy may be a little slow when feeling at ease in new situations or with new people, but once he knows you're a good person, he'll think you're the bee's knees and want to be friends!Would you like to wake up to Gordy's smile every morning? Then contact OHAR to learn more about how to meet him!History: Gordy was turned into the Mesquite Animal shelter when found as a stray. Gordy is a happy, playful guy who is eager to please. He is crate trained graduated from obedience training where he was a star pupil.Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. Story
Meet Rex – Your Loyal Companion Awaits! Rex is a special 8-year-old dog with a heart full of love to give. He was adopted from the Dallas Animal Shelter as a tiny two-month-old puppy and has been a faithful friend ever since. Unfortunately, his life took a turn when his owners were displaced, and he found himself living under a car for a long time. But even after enduring such hardship, Rex’s sweet nature has never wavered. Rex is a 40-pound boy who walks beautifully on a leash, goes into his kennel without a fuss, and has a calm, quiet demeanor. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, making him a remarkable companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend. He’s also the perfect size—not too big to be in the way, but just right to snuggle up with you on the couch. While Rex did test positive for heartworms, he’ completed his 3 shot treatment. During this time , until Feb 1st., Rex will need a calm environment, but with his laid-back personality, this should be no problem at all. We’re committed to helping Rex find a loving home where he can experience the comfort and care he deserves. Rex is looking for either a forever home or a foster home where he can stay safe, warm, and loved. He’s spent too much time without the comforts of a home, and it’s time for him to know what it’s like to be cherished indoors, whether it’s in the cool air conditioning during the summer or by the heater in the winter. Please consider giving Rex the life he’s always deserved. Meet this incredible dog, and you’ll see why he’s one of our favorites. Fill out an adoption or foster application today, and let Rex show you the true meaning of unconditional love. Adoption fee is $225 Dallas TX https://chloespetrescue.org/application
