Hi! My name is Lenore and I am from Alabama. From the foster: This sweet, 9-year-young Beagle named Lenore is ready to find her forever lap! Lenore is truly learning to be a dog and embracing all the joys life has to offer. She's a champion napper and kennel trained, making her an easy-going companion. Lenore's favorite thing in the world? Humans! She absolutely adores cuddling and wants nothing more than to be by your side, ideally curled up with you for sleepy time. She's a food-motivated quick learner and is doing great with leash manners, enjoying leisurely walks filled with interesting smells. She's incredibly quiet—we haven't heard a single bark! Though she's had a few accidents, she's a smart cookie and will use a potty pad when the weather's bad. Lenore just wants to be loved. Could that special someone be you?

Story
Hi! My name is Peg and I am from Arkansas! From her foster: Peg is a polite, sweet gal! She loves to cuddle & is fairly low energy. She's fully house broke. We haven’t tried leaving her when we’re not home but I’d guess she’d do fine. She’s good on a leash and great with other dogs. She’s a little timid but warming up to life in the city everyday! With a little love and stability this gal is going to shine! She has been working on being alone in her crate, and does well with a blanket over it and some relaxing music to listen to! She sleeps well in her crate overnights.

Story
Hi! My name is Albert and I am from Arkansas. From his foster: Hi! I'm Albert! Thanks for stopping by to read a bit about me. If you are looking for a 40 pound lap dog - I could be your boy. Don't get me wrong, I love going on walks, playing with my foster dog sister, and destuffing toys but my absolute favorite activity is snuggling up or even on top of my foster mom. My foster mom says that I am a very good boy because I am house-trained, kennel trained - never a peep out of me after enticed in with a treat, and I know not to chew on stuff that isn't mine. I do have an old leg injury but that doesn't slow me down. I play, walk, and chase around with the best of them. I'd love to meet you so you could see for yourself what a good boy I am. From the Vet: I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. My adoption can take place during treatment, while TBB manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment at The Bond Between Vet Center. Any other medical care needed outside of the specific care covered in the contract disclaimer, would be the responsibility of my new family. Albert came to us heartworm positive and upon completing his exam we notice that he walking abnormally. His legs show a fairly severe previous fracture resulting in a protrusion of his femur bone The injury occurred so long ago that surgical repair is not something our orthopedic specialist is recommending. We also discussed possible amputation, however he does use the leg when walking, but as you can see in his photos when he is stationary he will sometimes just hold it up. He will likely need some medical management for this life-long, but its nothing a young dog like him can't handle. We hope that he continues to thrive in his forever home!

COZY is a fantastic dog who is being cared for by one of our trusted rescue partners. COZY is NOT a Woof River dog. To apply for COZY please download an adoption application here Please email the completed application to John at jhayesp@gmail.com Please submit an application rather than an inquiry with no application attached. Meet Cozy! 🐾 True to her name, Cozy is the queen of comfort and a master at settling right in. This easygoing girl lives for the simple joys in life—lounging in the sun, car rides with the windows down, and soaking up belly rubs like they’re her favorite treat (they might be!). Cozy is a mellow, low-energy companion who’s perfectly content hanging out at home. But don’t let her laid-back vibe fool you—when it’s mealtime, she’ll let you know with a happy bay and bark, just to make sure you didn’t forget! She loves the company of other dogs and plays beautifully with her canine pals. Cozy is also crate-trained and does well when her foster dad is away. She’s still learning the ropes of leash walking, so a little patience and guidance will go a long way. If you’re looking for a sweet, sun-loving, snuggle-ready pup who brings calm and joy to every day, Cozy might just be your perfect match. ❤️ To see even more pictures COZY copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fo/06c7op1a877zsbexiebqy/APX5izSggI18u7BiPWff1xE?rlkey=04fo75w3ae4nfqv8v1aaqihmh&st=95g457ay&dl=0 COZY is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations. For an adoption application on COZY click here Please email the completed application to jhayesp@gmail.com. She will reach out to you as soon as your application is processed. Thank you in advance for your patience. Like all of Woof River's dogs, COZY will be beginning her journey in Memphis, Tennessee where she will remain until adopted. Once adopted, some pups stay local in Memphis. Many others travel via one of our transport partners to their new forever homes. We use Pet Express Transport (https://petexpresstupelo.wordpress.com) for our Nashville, Knoxville and New England adoptions. Breed selection is done in conjunction with two local vets and is not to be considered a guarantee but rather a well-educated decision from well qualified staff. Please LIKE Woof River on Facebook! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Rambler (6yo, 50lb) is a presumed Beagle/Lab/Terrier mix and needs a home with another dog around his size & age to show him that being a dog IS pretty cool! Rambler came to us from a background of hardship. We aren't sure about his whole story, but came to rescue as a meek and skinny boy and was missing half of his ear. He also came to rescue with heartworm. He was successfully treated and has been diligently kept on Heartguard (Tri Heart Plus) ever since.  He has made HUGE progress since being in rescue. This guy deserves to find his forever home. He is working on trusting humans, new dogs, and being away from his foster mom. We think Rambler would do best in a laid-back home with a solid 6ft fence, a confident dog, and a human who is patient and ready for him to break out of his shell. He is crate trained, potty trained, walks well on a leash, and tries to be very brave when he meets new dogs. "Treats!" is one of his favorite words! Rambler is a true diamond in the rough. He is our longest resident (Aug. 2021) and we are hopeful that his perfect human is out there.   Interested in adopting? Please complete an interest form on our website  here  If you are viewing this listing on PETFINDER there is often MORE INFO ON and MORE PICS OF the animal DIRECTLY ON OUR WEBSITE. http://redemptionroadrescue.rescuegroups.org *Rambler's a doption is $525 + tax* redemptionroad.mn@gmail.com https://www.facebook.com/RedemptionRoadRescue  All animals fully vetted appropriate for age: spayed/neutered, rabies vaccine, DHPP vaccine, 4DX test (@12 months or older), microchipped with lifetime registration, dewormed, flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention.  *Since we typically don't know a rescue dog's actual genetics, their breed and estimated size when grown on their bio is just an educated guess based on information ond observations we have.*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 28, 2025, 10:45 pm

Story
*PHYSICALLY FENCED YARD REQUIRED IN HOME* She is a huge, huge love bug and is getting braver every day. She is the most joyful pup and does spins when it is dinner time. Liz Lemon loves being outside and is much more comfortable outside than inside. She loves kids-more so than any other dog I've met. My guess is that she was an outside dog and only the children were nice to her. She has some hand shyness and spooks at sounds and hand movements. She does best if we sit down and let her come to us- and she'll climb right in the lap then. We are working on potty training- she will always go potty when we take her out, but we have to watch her closely inside. She's learned how to use the dog door, but she doesn't always take advantage of that. She has no issues in the crate. She loves other dogs and loves to meet new people on our walks. She walks really well on the leash. She does great in the car and does great with cats.
