Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.   Rambler is a Beagle/Lab/Terrier mix (we are guessing!) Who is oh so sweet and good natured. Rambler came to us from a background of hardship. We don't know the full story but was told part of one of his ears was shot off? Was he a stray in a rural area and was shot at? We are not sure, but he came to rescue pretty meek and frightened of humans.  He also came to rescue with heartworm. He was successfully treated for that and has been diligently kept on Heartguard (Tri Heart Plus) since then.  He also has made HUGE progress since being in rescue. He is now more trusting and happy and open. He is crate trained, potty trained, walks well on a leash and loves to be with other dogs.  We are looking for a home for him with another dog (it helps his confidence) and a fenced in yard.  Rambler is one of those "heart dogs" that just get to you as you watch them embrace the kind of life they were meant to live.  If you want to make a difference in Rambler's life by giving him a loving home, please fill out our form below! Apply on our website ( https://www.healingheartsrescue.org/adopt )  to  set up a private meeting or check below for my adoption event schedule. Come and meet me at our adoption event at Pets in the Park, Columbia Heights on 5/18 at 1:00 - 4:00 pm!   Age: 6 years old Weight: 33 lbs Dog friendly: Best in a home without other dogs. Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: No, respectful kids over 12 are ok. Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes Hi, I'm Lola, and I'm looking for my perfect Forever home. I am eager to please, obedient and completely potty trained. I do fine free roaming the house if you leave, but also does well in my kennel, especially if you cover it entirely with a blanket. I LOVE tennis balls, tug of war, and long stuffed toys that I can flop around. At night I snuggle up with Foster Mama in her bed, and I sleep quietly through the night. I can also sleep in my kennel, if you don't like company in your bed.  I love being outside, using my Beagle nose to explore the yard and the fence line, so a fenced yard would be so great for me! I am mostly a loving couch potato, but Foster Mama says exercise would be good since I could lose a few more pounds. I do like to let Foster Mama know in my Beagle voice when there are other doggos and people outside, so shared walls may not be the best for me.  Little kids do make me nervous, so I need a home with grown-up humans only or with very respectful older kids. I lived with a male beagle for the first years of my life, but I had a few conflicts with female dogs in my foster home, so everyone thinks a home without other dogs is might be best for me now. Overall, I am a happy, calm girl who likes routine and a quieter home  - will you give me all the loves forever? My foster mama says I'm something called a "stunner" since I have amazing coloring and did I mention I have 2 colors of eyes???  I love to play with my litter mates Helga, Wolfgang and Dieter. We really like to wrestle, play tug with these new things called toys and run around outside with all the neat smells. I'm super curious - everything is soooo exciting! I love to learn and explore. My favorite thing? I'm a goofball - I love to chase a yellow tennis ball around and try to carry it in my mouth. It's a bit heavy for me (I'm just a baby!), so I drop it all the time and chase it all over again. I sleep on my dog bed in this thing called an exercise pen. I am trying to learn to go outside and go potty, but I'm just a baby so I forget sometimes. Meet Sebastian! Sebastian is a special kind of boy.  He has a pretty rough life that only he knows what happened.  He lost his eye due to some kind of blunt injury and it left him a bit skittish if he can see you.  He is the kind of boy that really loves to be one persons dog.  He does amazing with our whole family (5 of us) and other dogs.  But trust is something you earn with him.  He will need time to warm up and meet and greets do not always go well but if you give him a chance he will surprise you.  He loves to snuggle, does great in his kennel even though he does not need to be kenneled.  He is house broken, does great in the car and loves walks.  Sebastian deserves so much more than his past, but he will need the most amazing people to give him is future.  Will that be you? Story
My name is Mason and I am in search of my forever home. I am a beagle mix born 1/20/23 and I weigh about 43 lbs. If you are looking for a running partner, I’m your guy! I still need leash training cuz I get a little over excited and forget my manners and tend to pull. I am a great jumper too. My foster mom thinks with the right training I could compete in agility competitions. I’m willing to try if you are! I love to go on car rides, but my tummy doesn’t always like it. I take a pill when we’re going on long car rides and my tummy doesn’t get upset anymore. My foster mom thinks I have a little anxiety so I wear a belly band whenever I can’t be watched or when she leaves the house. The dog who lives here is so much fun. So I think I’d like to have a furry friend in my new family. He really helps to get my energy out! I’m even getting used to the cat who lives here. My beagle nose tends to lead me astray sometimes so I probably need a fenced yard to explore. I also like to explore countertops for food. My mom uses the word off and l’m slowly learning to stay down. I know how to sit, shake and lay down. I don’t like to be locked in a kennel at all. My mom lets me sleep with her and roam freely when she’s gone. I am very leery of new people. I will hide until I feel comfortable, getting to know someone has got to be on my terms. But once I know you I will give lots of kisses and cuddle up by you on the couch. I’ve been around older kids and I love them, I’m sure I’d do just as well with little humans. There is so much more I could tell you about myself. Why don’t we meet so I can show you what a great addition to your family I could be! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxHenlo hoomans! I am Austin! I am a good beagle but I still have a few issues I’m working through with my foster pawpa and his fur fren. I came from da streets and so am still a timid boy and am slow to trust, but I want to it just takes time. I woof being outside and running around wif my fluffy fren and getting da zoomies out, but getting back in da house can sometimes be tricky as da outside is awesome! I woof all da treatos, but I especially woof da cheesy curds from Culver’s. I enjoy walkies, but I like to have the time to get the sniffs in so they sometimes take a while.    Some of my issues, besides being timid, are I can be a little vocal, but no more than you’d expect from a regal beagle like myself and I am having some issue with understanding that potty is to be always done outside, but da foster hooman and I are working on this. I’m also a bit of a chewer, so make sure I have chews to help wif my nervous chewing so I don’t go after your socks, or toys, or cables, or anything else I can get my teefs on I’m not supposed to have.     Won’t you give me a good, trusting home so I can show da world what an awesome boy I can be?Austin will require another confidant dog in his adoptive home If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Story
This is Chifon, she’s a Beagle born 4/7/2018. She spent her whole life being used for breeding and is now finally learning to be a dog. She loves her foster sister and lays preferably right next to her and touching her. This brings her great comfort. She’s doing well with potty training. She loves running around the yard but is always close to the other dogs in the house. Chifon also does well with the cat in the house and loves to sniff her. Right now, she seeks more contact with her furry foster siblings. She will come running to you but at the last minute gets spooked and runs away. She is still nervous when we get the chance to pet her but I am sure that will change over the next few weeks. At this point, she would do better with older kids that give her the space she needs to warm up. She tends to bark when she’s first put in her kennel. She is quiet and rides well in the car. She’s currently not walking on the least yet as she’s scared. She is looking for a patient home that will teach her love and trust. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet the sweetest baby beagle around, Deb! She had a rough start to life, living her first 16 weeks in a puppy mill but has been making amazing progress since coming into the rescue at the beginning of April. Deb is the sweetest little puppy who loves snuggling, playing with toys, belly rubs, zoomies and sniffing everything she can put her nose on. Deb loves other dogs and will follow them around or politely initiate play, if they're up for it. She would do great with another dog in the home to teach her to "dog". Deb is still getting used to new people but is getting braver every day and has completely bonded to her foster mom. If she could, she would snuggle up to her foster mom all day, so she would do best in a household where people are usually home or a pet companion. Deb is kennel trained and house trained with extra large potty pads. She just started being brave enough to go outside and is now loving it, so she just started working on pottying outside. Deb is a little nervous in the car but overall does really well. She will lay in a bed in the passenger seat for the entire car ride (and really appreciates it if you keep a hand on her to reassure her!) Deb is the typical beagle temperament-wise: she is loyal, sweet, playful and wants to please. Deb has been left alone for a couple of hours at a time per day and does well. She has not yet learned to walk on a leash but we are going to try it out soon! She is constantly getting compliments on her eyeliner and is not only completely adorable but I know she is going to make a wonderful & loyal companion! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Age: Approximately 6 years old Weight:  Dog friendly: No, needs to be an only dog Cat friendly: Unkown/not tested Kid friendly: Unknown/not tested Potty trained: mostly but with some accidents still  Crate trained: Does well being left loose in the house when left alone   Bellini is an approximately 6 year old Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen mix. She is a timid girl who likes to spend much of her day in bed and snuggling. She has the highest of standards, refusing to use the outdoor facilities when its dark or raining -- because of this she sometimes has potty accidents. She can be wary of new places, prefering one area that she is familiar with and needs support to explore unfamiliar places. Bellini is a smart pup, she knows Sit, Stay and Come but her high standards means she only likes to obey when she has a mind to. Bellini loves the attention of daily grooming, brushing and face washing to keep her feeling fresh and clean. She loves to be pet and if she isn't sitting next to you will jump up to ask for more.  She gets excited and barks at neighbors and their dogs when they are outside and she has the same level of excitement when people come to visit. She is very affectionate to her person and can sometimes have some protective behaviors towards others who want to be close to her person, she will benefit from positive redirection when having this behavior.  Bellini is a very sweet, affectionate girl who would love a snuggle partner to spend her days with. Apply to meet her! Adoption Fee: $495  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.INTERESTED IN MEETING ME?
