Story
Age: 3 years Dog friendly: Yes, needs another dog in her forever home Cat friendly: Yes Kid friendly: Yes Potty trained: Very close! Crate trained: Yes *PHYSICALLY FENCED YARD REQUIRED IN HOME* She is a huge, huge love bug and is getting braver every day. She is the most joyful pup and does spins when it is dinner time. Liz Lemon loves being outside and is much more comfortable outside than inside. She loves kids-more so than any other dog I've met. My guess is that she was an outside dog and only the children were nice to her. She has some hand shyness and spooks at sudden sounds and large hand movements. She does best if we sit down and let her come to us- and she'll climb right in the lap then. We are working on potty training- she will always go potty when we take her out, but we have to watch her closely inside. She's learned how to use the dog door, but she doesn't always take advantage of that. She has no issues in the crate. She loves other dogs and loves to meet new people on our walks. She walks really well on the leash. She does great in the car and does great with cats. She's learning basic skills and knows "sit."

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Rambler (6yo, 50lb) is a presumed Beagle/Lab/Terrier mix and needs a home with another dog around his size & age to show him that being a dog IS pretty cool! Rambler came to us from a background of hardship. We aren't sure about his whole story, but came to rescue as a meek and skinny boy and was missing half of his ear. He also came to rescue with heartworm. He was successfully treated and has been diligently kept on Heartguard (Tri Heart Plus) ever since.  He has made HUGE progress since being in rescue. This guy deserves to find his forever home. He is working on trusting humans, new dogs, and being away from his foster mom. We think Rambler would do best in a laid-back home with a solid 6ft fence, a confident dog, and a human who is patient and ready for him to break out of his shell. He is crate trained, potty trained, walks well on a leash, and tries to be very brave when he meets new dogs. "Treats!" is one of his favorite words! Rambler is a true diamond in the rough. He is our longest resident (Aug. 2021) and we are hopeful that his perfect human is out there.   Interested in adopting? Story
Age: 4 years old Weight: 12 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat Friendly: Yes Kid Friendly: Older/Considerate kids only Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: Working on it & doing great! *REQUIRED* Physical Fence Snuggly, sweet, and always ready for adventure — Bella is a 4-year-old kiss-giving, blanket-fort-loving, tail-wagging pro at stealing hearts. Whether she’s curled up on the couch or trotting beside you on a hike, she’s just happy to be with her people. According to her DNA results, she's mostly Yorkie. We don't see the resemblance (aside from her sass) so we're sticking with the next two breeds - beagle & chihuahua! :) Bella’s a smart cookie who’s picking up her basic commands quickly — all she needs is a little consistency, some treats, and a “good girl” (or a smooch, her favorite reward). She’s made great progress and would thrive with someone who enjoys training and bonding time. She’s done wonderfully with older, respectful kids and would be a loyal companion for a family who values both fun and chill time. While Bella is curious about other animals, she does have a strong prey drive. She would thrive with another calm, confident dog within the home & is doing great with her doggy sister and thinks the cat is ok too. She’s not overly barky, but she will alert you to surprises like slamming car doors or unexpected chatter. Apartment living isn’t her jam, but give her a fenced yard, a cozy couch, and a human who adores her — and Bella will give you the world in return. Adoption Fee $495

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxMeet Lupine, a 30-pound beagle mix with a heart as big as her smile! This sweet girl is the perfect mix of cuddly and cheerful – house trained, crate trained, quiet, and ready to wiggle her way into your life. Lupine lives for belly rubs and will gladly roll over to soak up all the love you can give. She’s wonderfully social with other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine companion or two, but would also love to be a solo dog. Whether she’s trotting happily on a walk, getting her sniffs in at the park, recharging in the sun, or curling up for a nap nearby, Lupine’s calm, gentle spirit would make her a great companion. Lupine sleeps through the night in her crate and will seek that safe space voluntarily during the day, curling up amongst her toys and blankets. She likes to spend time outside and politely sits and waits to be let in or out.  She’s past the puppy chaos but still full of playful charm. Lupine is a loyal, loving soul who just wants to find her forever home. If you're searching for a devoted, affectionate friend who’s already mastered the house rules, Lupine is your girl.    * I did test positive for heartworm and will be receiving treatment provided by MARS to live a long healthy life.   *A dog with Heartworms is not directly contagious to other animals. Story
You can stop scrolling through all the dogs on these pages now because you have come upon your new best friend: ME! My name is Mason. I am a little over 2 yrs old, and they tell me I am a beagle mix. I don’t want to sound like I’m bragging, but I’m a pretty darn good guy! I do have a few little personality traits that make me unique, but nothing that you and I can’t work on together.  I want so badly to find my forever family, but I tend to be very timid when I first meet people, so lots of people just pass me by. They don’t realize that some dogs are aware of stranger danger just like people, and that’s me, until I get to know you. Once I am comfortable around you, I have been known to give lots and lots of kisses.  I sleep with my foster mom, and she tells me I am the perfect bed partner. I have a strong dislike of being in a kennel. It causes me great anxiety, and I have been known to break out of one. I behave myself very well when no humans are home, I nap and watch out the window, anxiously waiting for their return. In fact, I get so excited when they come home, I like to jump up to greet them. My foster mom uses the word floor and I’m getting better at knowing what that means. Although I love kids, really little ones might not be the best fit for me. I get a little over exuberant at times and might accidentally knock somebody down. My absolute favorite thing to do is wrestle with the resident dog. We get the zoomies and chase each other. It is so much fun! I’d love to have a furry sibling to help me work off my energy. My foster mom started to use a thing called a gentle leader when we walk. She says I’m a good walker now. I don’t like that thing on my nose, but I like it when she says I’m doing good. Speaking of noses, I have a really good sniffer, and it sometimes leads me astray. I would prefer not to have boundaries, but my foster mom says a fenced yard would be the best for me. Want to go on an adventure? I’ll go with, but if it’s a long car ride, I should probably have some Dramamine. I do great with short trips, though. Remember I told you I broke out of a kennel once? Well, I hurt some of my teeth doing it, so the vet says that I’ll need yearly dental checkups now, and I can’t chew on anything hard, like bones. Oh, I forgot to tell you there is a cat that lives here. I so want to be friends with her and play, but she doesn’t like me. I wish she knew I don’t want to hurt her. The only time I chase her is when she runs. I thought that meant playtime, but she won’t play. One more thing I want to mention: I am very willing to learn and experience new things if you have patience with me, the world, and new people can be scary sometimes. I know that if I find a caring, loving family, I’ll feel safe and ready to take on the world!              Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 24, 2025, 10:08 am
