Story
Adoption Fee: $600 + tax Location: Foster Home Not all heroes wear capes! (Super) Pebbles is a 3-month-old female beagle mix. The coloring on her face makes it look like she's wearing a cute little black mask. Our little hero arrived in Minnesota alongside her sidekick sister and quickly adjusted to life here. She has a sweet personality and as a super pup, she is very active. She loves to jump, hang out outside, and she re-energizes by snuggling for hours. She's a great walker and enjoys the company of others. I think she'll be a great addition to any home. Pebbles is mircrochipped, spayed and up to date on her age appropriate vaccinations. To meet Pebbles, please complete an application on the Carver Scott Humane Society's website.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Stop scrolling! You've found your newest family member! This is Sugar (aptly named, since she is the sweetest little thing on three legs). This scrappy tripod is 15 lbs. of pure love, and she's ready to dedicate her heart to your family.   Sugar is a ten year old Beagle/Miniature Pincher who survived hurricane Maria in 2017, where she lost her leg, but that doesn't slow her down one bit. She can run, walk, jump and loves to be outside on new adventures. She is a great leash walker and is fully house-trained, and prefers to sleep in bed with humans and be free-roaming during the day.    Thunder scares her, as do loud things like garbage trucks, so she has a Thunder Jacket to help with anxiety.    When it comes to other animals, Sugar does great with very chill dogs and cats. High energy animals and people stress her out, so she would do best in a household with other animals her age/energy level. Kids under 5 and big, energetic dogs are a no for Sugar.   At her most recent vet visit, Sugar tested positive for Ehrlichia, which is a common tick-borne illness. She hasn't exhibited any symptoms, but a short treatment of antibiotics will help if she does. Here is a great resource for more information: Ehrlichiosis in Dogs   Sugar has been through a lot of transitions but is still the gentlest little spirit. If you are looking for a quiet, loyal and adventurous companion, please consider adding Sugar to your household! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination. Story
Hi! My name is Glitter and I am from a shelter in Alabama. From Glitter: My foster family calls me Gigi. I am a super happy senior beagle. I love to meet new people and dogs - I wish I could be best friends with everyone in my neighborhood. I love food! Treats are the best and mealtimes make me so happy that my back end does a little dance! I'm very good at making it known when it's time to eat and once I even got my foster mom to feed me two dinners! I love to nap! I have the comfiest bed where I like to snuggle in and take a long snooze. I don't mind being in a crate but require a few treats to get me to go in. At night I sleep in my crate and most mornings make for a good alarm clock to get the sleepyheads I live with moving. I'm told I'm a little hard of hearing but since I follow my foster mom everywhere in the house, it's no big deal. I like to walk around the block but it takes me a while, not because of my age but because I need to sniff and investigate everything. I love to have my back scratched! The more petting I get, the happier I am! I get along with the resident dog even though she isn't interested in me. From the foster mom: Gigi is such a sweet-tempered beagle. She is very interested in food! She doesn't have many teeth but that doesn't seem to stop her from eating. Right now, she eats a mixture of canned and dry food (we soak the dry food in water) which she happily gobbles down. In addition to being crated at night, Gigi also is crated on the days when we don't work from home and does just fine. She has bursts of energy and enjoys short walks. Otherwise, her favorite thing to do is to nap. She also likes to play with a few soft toys in between naps. Gigi would be great for any family but because she can be so loud when she gets chatty and excited, she might not be a good fit for anyone with shared walls. Hello! I'm pending some medical care but still available for adoption. I am currently being treated for heartworm disease. Heartworm is not contagious so your resident pets are not at risk! The treatment for this is 3-4 months long and requires a minimum of 3 appointments and strict rest/restricted activity. I will be adopted with an PMA (Pending Medical Adoption) contract so my adoption can take place, while SHH still manages the financial responsibility of my heartworm treatment. Any other medical care needed outside of this specific care covered by the PMA contract, would be the responsibility of my new family. My ear (pinna) is thickened due to a previous hematoma. It is stable and does not require any treatment at this time but the thickening is permanent. I have a bilateral grade 1-2 MPL (medial patellar luxation) that is not causing any persistent lameness or signs of arthritis at this time. My future adopter would be responsible for any care regarding my MPL's. I have a mammary tumor which will be removed and biopsied during my spay/dental procedure. These surgeries will occur after my heartworm treatment. My heartworm treatment, dental, spay and mammary mass removal will be covered by SHH as long as the procedures occur at SHH Vet Center in Minnetonka.

Story
Hi! My name is Margaret and I am from a shelter in Kentucky. Margaret loves all people and dogs. We call her Maggie. We don't know about cats but she couldn't hurt one if she tried. Margaret was born with a congenital malalignment of her jaw causing a severe overbite. She is able to happily eat, drink, pant, pick up things, chew on sticks, etc. A surgeon viewed her x-rays and said surgery would not be beneficial. She knows no different and is a happy girl just the way she is. She does have one rather funny trait, when she sniffs, she snorts (likely due to having her jaw in the wrong place). It took some getting used to, but now we smile and realize it is just her. Margaret could fit into just about any family and become your best friend. We did hear the Beagle bay voice this morning, which we hadn't heard from her previously, that could be a consideration for someone with shared walls. She would like a family where she isn't home all day by herself since she really enjoys being with you. She can scale any baby gate in a matter of seconds to get to you. She sleeps quietly through the night in a kennel in our bedroom. She has had a couple of bathroom accidents, so not totally house trained, but working on it. Hello! I arrived at Secondhand Hounds with a misshapen jaw/overbite. The SHH Vet Team, with the assistance of an orthopedic surgeon, determined that no surgery is recommended since it is not causing me pain and I can drink/eat. I am unable to open my jaw fully likely due to TMJ issues. My potential adopter should be aware of this and use caution when exercising me in hot/humid weather since I cannot open my mouth to pant heavily. It also may be difficult to perform a dental procedure so it is advised that my future adopter practice toothbrushing as preventive care. Any future treatment/monitoring for this condition will be at my adopter's expense.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please check below to see what upcoming adoption events I will be attending or apply here for a private meeting.  If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***   DOB: 12/08/2022 Requires another dog in home: No Okay with dogs of all sizes: Yes Okay with cats: Unknown Okay with children under 12 years old: Likely yes Weight: 10 pounds and growing to 20-30 pounds, estimated Requires a fenced yard:  No Note: dogs must always be leashed whenever outside of a contained area.  Invisible/ underground fencing is not recommended for most rescue dogs. Hi! I'm new here!  I am a super sweet little puppy. I love to play with toys and my siblings. I am happy, adaptable and loving- I would fit well into any home ready to take on a puppy!  I can smell food from down the hall and will show you just how good of a nose I have when it's dinner time! I am a foodie and love just about anything you hand my way.  I love all my doggie buddies - no matter the size! I love playing and wrestling and one happy guy!  I'd love to do an obedience class with you and I'll show everyone that I'm the best in class. If you have treats, I'll do anything you ask of me! Foster mom says I'm a smart guy and I have to say, she's right! I can't wait to meet you and start our life together! So, whaduya say? I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters.  Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter.  Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized.  If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a  particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.     This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.  We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated as the foster home RSVP's to attend. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. You may wish to consider applying and setting up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved.   ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions.   FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves. If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application.   NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.   YOU CAN HELP: Not able to foster or adopt right now?
