Story
Shadow was adopted from the shelter at estimated 3 years old. He is now estimated 6 years old. He shows signs of previous abuse and prefers a quiet home (preferably without kids). He does well with adults and is very fond of women. He is high anxiety and likes access to his crate or a closet for safety. He has always done well with new dogs outside of our home. At home he can be territorial unless he knows the other dog. We think he is part Basenji, and he extremely rarely barks. He is a lower energy dog and would be good in an apartment or smaller space.  Shadow is housebroken and uses bells to let you know when he needs to go outside. He knows basic commands, but they best demonstrated when he is not anxious. He loves a good bone but rarely plays with any toys.

Story
Bowie is incredibly sweet and loving, always happy to see you with a wiggle of his tail (butt wiggle included). He is almost 5, and was born sometime in October of 2020. He is great with other animals, has had two dog siblings, and a cat sibling. Wonderful with kids, absolutely adored my niece. He loves walks and car rides, but knows the words so be careful when you say them! He&#39ll get those little feet tippy-tapping and then you&#39re basically committed because who can say no. He is not super food motivated, but does enjoy treats and can sit and stay (but that&#39s the extent of his command training). Honestly, the best thing I can say about Bowie is that he is Just Happy to Be Included. Whether it&#39s with other dogs, or with his people. Very social and chill, no storm or separation anxiety. Will absolutely do a flop and let you rub his belly until your hand cramps and falls off. Seriously, it&#39s his favorite. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Bowie is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRMJune 22, 2025, 12:59 pm

Story
Victoria is 100% Border Collie per her DNA test results. She is 3 years old and weighs around 35 pounds. She loves to cuddle even if it&#39s awkward and clumsy sometimes Victoria is dog friendly. She is wary of new things, but just needs a loving/guiding person to let her know everything is okay and safe. Victoria would do best in a calm home with no children. Victoria is crate and house trained. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). Story
Kiwi is a super playful and smart girl. She even plays gently with smaller creatures like cats and rabbits. She is potty trained and has caught on quickly to simple commands like Sit and Stay. Kiwi is shy at first but quickly warms up. She was born 6/29/2019We got Kiwi & Peaches from the shelter as itty bitty pups, and soon found out that both of them had CHV (Canine Herpesvirus). Most puppies die at 2 weeks from this, however these two were fighters and besides runny noses here and there, are doing really well. They can have it the rest of their lifes and will be sick from time to time and because there is just not a lot documented on situations like this we have no idea what their future health could be. They should never be around puppies or attend public places or events.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.
