Story
Welcome Marcos to CCPAL Rescue. Marcos is a 13-week-old Border Collie mix. He is the one in the litter that looks most like the girls in the litter. He is black white and tan and is calmer than both of the white Border Collies in this litter. The momma dog is a pure-bred Border Collie and she is a farm dog that herds goats. Marcos was born on a farm. Marcos is one of the smaller boy pups in the litter. All the boys are bigger than the girls. He and the girls are the least active pups. These pups should be 40-45 pounds full grown is our best estimate. The other parent is a mystery. The momma is a farm dog and herds the goats. Marcos has medium length coat and it is nice and soft. The pups like water, are affectionate and smart. They were good getting their bath and Marcos is quiet when you pick him up and has the most beautiful coat and eyes. He has the longer coat like the Border Collie. He is smart and will be a fun boy to train. We would like someone who has owned the working breed or a border collie. People who have had a BC do love this breed. He is good in his litter playing and is less energetic than the white boy dogs. Today he got his first round of vaccines and his Nexgard. He will then be neutered and ready for his new home. He will be loved on by the kennel workers here at the shelter until he finds his new home. He was turned in by the person that had the female mother Border Collie. These pups are precious and would be fine with children or other dogs. We like the children to be 8 or older. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See his cute video!!

Story
Meet Kage, the ultimate good boy who's just so darn cute! This gentleman is a pro at house living, fully potty trained, and a master at walking on a leash and harness. He's a social butterfly, getting along famously with other dogs and loving those backyard playdates with his pals. Kage is a stunning mix of Lab and Border Collie, the perfect blend of intelligence and family-friendliness. He's just the right size, like a mini Lab or a slightly larger Border Collie. When you find two fantastic things that go together like peanut butter and jelly, you celebrate! Kage is that winning combo, and now you can celebrate by making him a cherished member of your family. His temperament is pure gold - sweet as honey with everyone he meets. Now, here's the scoop: Kage is a special needs pup, and he's looking for someone who can be with him about 90 percent of the time. Storms, rain, and loud noises send him into severe panic attacks, and he's been known to chew through walls when anxiety strikes. Crates aren't his jam because of past storm-related trauma. He's also dealing with seizures, so he's on medication for that. Kage would thrive in a local adoption, and he's best as a single dog with no cats or small animals around. He's a wonderful companion for older kids, and he loves nothing more than cuddles and long walks. He's got the whole house training thing down too. His foster mom adores him and has prepared him for his forever family as best she can. Now, the ball is in your court. Remember, when you adopt Kage, you're not just bringing home a good boy; you're giving him the loving, understanding home he deserves. Don't shop, adopt, because Kage's life depends on it! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Disclaimer: I'm currently soaking up the Texas sun, but the great news is that I can be transported to my forever home once adopted, and the transport fee is $230.My journey began when I was surrendered, along with my four precious puppies, because my family couldn't provide the care I needed. I'm a bundle of energy and an incredible jumper! My foster mom thinks I have all the potential to excel in agility training courses. While I absolutely adore the company of other dogs, I'm not a fan of being on my own, so a home with a calmer dog would be a perfect fit to help me settle. I'm a social butterfly who cherishes my human companions and still carries that puppy-like spirit in my heart. In my previous home, I was raised alongside three children, aged 8 to 16, so I'm sure to thrive in an energetic family environment. If you're looking for a furry friend who's ready to embark on adventures with you, look no further. Apply today and let's make a fantastic team!*Disclaimer: This pet is located in Texas. Once adoption is finalized the pet will be transported to the adopters location for an additional fee (currently $230-$250).* The adoption fee helps to cover some of the cost of vetting the animal prior to adoption (spay/neuter, microchipping, and up to date vaccinations). Please fill out an adoption application to be considered for adoption. https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=ch2817&method=online_form_html&formid=41

Story
Hi! My name is Acoe and I am from Missouri. Acoe is a very sweet puppy who loves pets, cuddling and naps on your lap. He has lots of love to give, sometimes a little excessively. He is very curious, wanting to explore and see everything, but does get frightened. He is working on his bravery and could use help continuing to explore the world. As with all puppies, Acoe needs close supervision as he likes to chew on everything. With proper chew toys, guidance and time, he will learn how to channel his energy and teething needs. He has very few accidents in the house (!) but we have kept a consistent schedule because he hasn't learned how to tell us he needs to go. Acoe can hold it consistently for about 5 hours but as he learns a new environment more frequent let outs would be helpful for his success. He sleeps in his crate at night. When there is movement or noise around him while he is crated, he will whine but otherwise does quite well. Acoe has not been very vocal at all yet, only barked a few times when trying to play. He needs training and support but has the potential to be an amazing companion and addition to your home. He has been getting along okay with the resident dog but hasn't learned boundaries or how to read other dogs quite yet. If he is going into a home that already has a dog, he would do best with a tolerant dog who is willing to help him learn the ropes.

Hi! My name is Freddie and I am from Kentucky. From his foster: He doesn't bark as much only when he needs something. He likes to lay down and relax while playing with his toys. He gets random energy boosts and runs around. He enjoys going on walks. He does tend to bite and nibble on things. He likes meeting new people.

Story
Hi! My name is Shaggy and I am from Kentucky. Sweet Shaggy made his way from Kentucky to Minnesota with his mom (Daphne) and two brothers (Fred and Scoob) in mid-November. Since arriving in his MN foster home, he's certainly grown in all ways. His comfort, confidence, and rotund little body. For being a little guy, he sure does move quick. In typical herding-breed fashion, he also enjoys being chased, chasing others, and some good rough and tumble playtime. Shaggy has been doing great going outside on a schedule, and is doing well with crate training overnight and intermittently throughout the day. His ideal home will be one that is committed to working with him to be a smart, confident, and well behaved boy as he continues to grow. Someone who is up for long walks, socialization, and a lifetime of love and laughs would be a great fit for Shaggy!

Meet Leera! This stunning, sweet girl is looking for her forever home! Look at her amazing eyes! She is a very playful and curious pup who thrives on outdoor adventures. Leera is always down for play time – fetching, running, and tug of war are her faves! She has a lot of energy and loves to be always on-the-go! Training and work are super fun and pleasing to Leera- she is a smart baby girl! Leera  enjoys chewing on bones & bully sticks (any and all chew toys!), playing with squeaky toys, shadowing her people, and going on leashed walks/runs/hikes around the neighborhood so she can say “Hello” to all her two- and four-legged friends. Yes, Leera is a social butterfly! Crate and potty training have been a breeze – this lady is the SMARTEST! We have started some agility training in the backyard and Leera is such an easy learner! Her furrrever home should be committed to continuing training, enrichment activities, and exercise. She is friendly to my resident cats but likes to chase them if they’re moving fast!  Leera is the perfect pup for an active person who is ready for an adventure buddy and ready to work with a smart pup- if that is you- you 2 will have an amazing life together! Jinx is a 8 year old border collie looking for a home where he can stay busy and challanged. He is smart, intense and has a high drive. We think he could excel at agility or obedience and likely other dog sports! He needs a home with experience and interest in training. He is a very sweet boy who loves to snuggle as much as play! He is very loyal and wants to please his people. He is housebroken and crate trained. This boy loves to play fetch and can spend hours pushing balls around the yard! Jinx has lived with many dogs and has done well with most, but can be selective. He may do best as an only dog. He is not good with cats. Jinx is neutered, vaccinated, heart worm negative, and microchipped. Jinx is not an easy dog, but he will be an amazing friend to the right family! Jinx is a courtesy post, please do not contact MUSHR but instead email his foster owner at megwagner@hotmail.com and include some information about your family. Jinx is fostered outside of the metro area, you must be willing to travel to meet him.

These pups are in Edina, Minnesota too!

Story
Welcome Serenity to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 1.5-year-old Australian Shepherd mixed dog. She weighs about 45 pounds. She is deaf and only has minor sight in one eye. She gets around like she has all senses completely intact. She is very sweet with all people. She was born without hearing and much sight so she has learned to adapt and when you see her play with other dogs you would not really know. She is great with other dogs her size and gets along in a play group with dogs that are more dominant and bossier. She can go with children. We would like them to be 10 or older. Someone patient with her and gentle in the handling will love this dog. She wants to do what you want and she is gentle, sweet and willing to learn. She is smart and adores attention and being touched. She has a soft coat and not a huge shedder. She would be a great companion for an older couple, older single or someone that is looking for a nice friendly companion. She is good on a leash and follows scent of her person easily. She bonds deeply and quickly. We all love this dog at the Rescue and would really be happy to see her find her forever home. She was found as a stray in Texas and has been with the rescue waiting for her forever home. She is healthy and up on her vaccinations and spayed. She can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to the Underdog Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) for an Adoption Event on Wednesday Dec 6th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.     Hello, my name is Quoll! I’m a precious and quiet male Australian Shepherd mix puppy who is playful and full of puppy energy! Hee, hee!! I love playing catch with my toys & tug-o-war with my resident fur sibs, saying hello to the strangers outside, getting belly scratches, cozying up in some blankets and/or on the couch, and snuggling with my people! I’m good with kids & cats and I’m a smart boy who not only knows commands like “down”, “sit”, “stay”, “wait”, and “outside” but I’m crate, leash, & potty trained too. Having said that, I must admit that I “submissive pee” and although it’s not something I’m proud of I am still a puppy who’s improving every day so hopefully as I get older, I will grow out of it! Anyway, I am the sweetest boy ever and all I need now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. I promise I’m totally worth it and if you will welcome me into your world, I assure you that not only will I make your life a LOT better, but I will fill a void I bet you never even knew existed! Love & cuddles, Quoll *I’m a growing puppy and I have not yet had a lot of experience with crates, kids or cats and I might bark if something alarms me, but I really love to learn and hoping for a family who will take me to a basic obedience class to continue to help me build confidence and dog skills. Ideally my forever home would need to be home during the day to help me with my potty training and not leave me for breaks longer than 3 - 4 hours. If you are looking for a best friend, please fill out the puppy application. The more info you include on the application the better so I can find a good match for my forever home. Get your toy box ready! **Obedience classes are required when adopting this puppy from Underdog Rescue. Many of our puppies have a mama who was not properly socialized before coming to Underdog Rescue. Since coming to Underdog, this puppy has been in a socialized and loving home, but that needs to be continued with its Adopters.  Training classes teach puppies the ins and outs of being a pet while creating a bond with their new Adopter.  Obedience classes are key to creating a relationship with your puppy while having it be a happy and successful member of society. Proof of Obedience Class registration is required for this puppy before adoptions can be finalized.  If you would like some suggestions, we would be happy to send some trainers who have experience with Underdog Rescue, but a Basic Obedience class in your area should work! Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders.  Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption.  This will be at the adopters expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses.  Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue.  Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a   particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit.  Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.       This puppy requires an application fee. This fee must be paid within 24 hours or your application will be considered void.    We will not review or contact applicants that have not completed the payment portion. Puppy Applications will be responded to within 5 business days, after receipt of the application fee.  Please understand that paying the fee does not guarantee you will be approved to adopt the puppy. Our goal is place puppies in homes that are suited for their individual needs. You may be willing and able to provide a great home, but if it doesn’t meet the specific needs of the puppy, we will not approve your application. We accept applications for puppies until we have a candidate that meets all of the requirements needed for the specific puppy and they have been contacted to review the adoption process as well as agree to all of the terms to move forward.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Hello, I’m Barbie, a stunning, friendly, and VERY fun adult female Cattle Dog who has not met any cats but I’m good with kids and other dogs. I have a LOT of energy and am always on-the-go, go, go! My favorite activity is fetching…in fact, ball is my life (hee, hee) so foster mom bought me an automatic ball thrower which is AWESOME…I’m gonna have that thing mastered in no time!! Anyway, I also enjoy chewing on bones & bully sticks, playing with my squeaky toys, shadowing my people, and going on leashed walks/runs/hikes around the neighborhood so I can say “Hello” to all my new two- and four-legged friends. What don’t I like you ask?? Well, I’m not crazy about the kennel/crate and will bark for a bit when I’m in there but above all else, I do NOT like car rides! If it were up to me, I’d avoid the car completely but foster mom…the wonderful lady that she is…is trying to help me overcome my aversion by taking me in the car more. How do I feel about that you ask…let me just say that when we’re in that death trap (LOL) I constantly bark to let her know in no uncertain terms that I am NOT thrilled or amused by her sneaky tactics! Hee, hee!! Oh well, I’m a smart girl who knows what “sit” means and I’ve almost conquered potty training, so I suppose it’s possible for me conquer the car too…we’ll see! In the end, I am the happiest girl in the world with an ever-present smile on my beautiful face…all I need now is YOU!
