Story
Meet Sidra, a sweet three-year-old Boxer mix with a heart as gentle as her eyes. When she came to us as a stray, Sidra was thin, full of parasites, and showed signs of a rough past. Now, with the care and love she deserves, she’s thriving and has discovered the joy of simple comforts—her own blanket, regular meals, and a safe space to call her own. Sidra adores affection and treats, and she loves earning them before plopping down beside you for some quiet companionship. She isn`t a fan of other animals so a home without pets would be best. She does phenomenal with kids and has had lots of little visitors. Sidra is ready to find a loving family who will shower her with the care and attention she’s always deserved. Her adoption fee is $80, which includes her vaccines, fecal exam, deworming, current heartworm/flea prevention, heartworm test, registered microchip, and spay. She is already fixed! Call our office for adoption details at 815-725-0333. Located in Joliet, IL.

Meet Nancy! 🐾 If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate best friend who will happily be wherever you are, Nancy might just be your perfect match. At just 1.5 years old, Nancy is a medium-sized mixed breed with a happy-go-lucky personality and the sweetest heart. She greets the world with a wagging tail and a curious sniff, and before you know it she’s ready to be your new best friend. Nancy does wonderfully meeting new people both inside and outside the home—she’s friendly, playful, and always excited to say hello. Nancy is the total package when it comes to manners. She is housebroken, crate trained, and non-destructive. When it’s time for her crate, she happily goes in with a Kong and some treats and settles right down. She’s also a smart girl who already knows sit, stay, and touch, and she enjoys learning and engaging with her people. Nancy has a fun, playful side and loves to run and jump with other dogs, so she’d be thrilled to have a canine playmate. She’s also cat-friendly and currently lives peacefully with a cat. Nancy does great with children and is currently living with kids ages 5–15, who she happily includes in her circle of friends. When Nancy first comes out of her crate she has a burst of happy energy, but she settles quickly and is just as content going for a walk or snuggling on the couch. In fact, cuddling may be her favorite hobby! Nancy will curl herself into a little circle and gently rest her head on whatever part of you is closest—your lap, leg, or chest. Wherever you are, that’s where Nancy wants to be. She’s a sweet, caring, smart, and incredibly lovable girl who simply wants to be close to her people. You’ll often find her happily following her humans around the house, ready to offer a tail wag or request a belly rub. And her adorable, expressive ears make every one of her moods even cuter. Nancy would do best in a home with a yard where she can run and play, and with a family that enjoys having a loyal companion by their side. If you’re looking for a dog who will greet you with joy every day and happily cuddle up with you every night, Nancy is ready to fill that role. Nancy is ready to find the family she can love forever. 💕 The adoption fee for Nancy is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Nancy please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team member.

Story
Meet Noggin. Every morning, Noggin wakes up like it’s the best day of his life. The moment his crate door opens, this beefy, block-headed sweetheart springs into action — straight to the back door, ready to run the yard with his foster sibling and make sure everything is exactly as it should be. Perimeter check? Complete. Zoomies? Absolutely necessary. At 4 years old, this Pitbull boy has that perfect blend of playful energy and grown-up manners. He lives peacefully with another dog and truly enjoys having a buddy to romp with. He loves walks (rain included — weather is not a valid excuse in Noggin’s world), chewing on a good bone, and stretching his legs outside. But here’s the part about Noggin that really steals hearts. He has spent time around young grandchildren — including a busy two-year-old. He enjoyed their love, but excused himself when the excited play became too much for him. Inside the home, he’s wonderfully well-mannered. Housebroken? Yes. Crate trained? Completely. Tell him “go to your crate,” and he walks right in and settles down. He knows “sit” and “down,” and if he’s not too excited, he’ll even offer you a paw. He’s currently working on “leave it” and tightening up his leash skills — because he gets very excited when it’s time to go explore. And if you happen to be petting another dog? Don’t be surprised if Noggin quietly scoots in between you. Not in a pushy way — just in a soft, “Hi, I love you too” kind of way. He doesn’t want to compete. He just wants to belong. After the yard runs are done and the excitement settles, Noggin melts into the sweetest snuggle buddy. He leans in. He stays close. He soaks up affection like he’s been saving space for it his whole life. Noggin isn’t just looking for a home. He’s looking for his people — the ones he can run with, walk beside (rain or shine), and curl up next to at the end of the day. If you’re ready for a loyal shadow with a big head and an even bigger heart, Noggin is ready to meet you. 🐾💙 The adoption fee for Noggin is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Noggin please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Wilson! This around 2-year-old beagle mix with a suspiciously curly tail (what breed is that?!) comes with all the best features: house-broken, crate trained (with minimal treat-based bribery required), excellent leash manners, and a personality that's 50% snuggle bug, 50% class clown. He's mastered "sit," is working on his "stay" certification, and comes when called like the good boy he is. Wilson's Resume: • Social Skills: A+ with other dogs (playful but respectful), great with humans, has enjoyed children, TBD on cats • Special Talents: Perfecting the art of taking up an entire couch, and unleashing the most hilarious beagle howl when he's outside • Quirks: Believes personal space is a myth. Will attempt to merge with you on the couch. Consider yourself warned. What Wilson Wants: He’ll adapt to whatever living situation comes with his favorite thing: YOU. Seriously, this boy just wants to be near his humans, whether that means shadowing you around the house or becoming a living blanket. If you're ready for a loyal, intelligent, cuddle monster, Wilson is the dog for you! The adoption fee for Wilson is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. Story
Some dogs come into our lives for a chapter. Others bring their very best friend along and promise a story you’ll never forget. ❤️ Meet Sparky and Gracie, a wonderfully mismatched but perfectly matched bonded pair looking for a home where they can stay together forever. Sparky is a 15-year-old medium-sized Pitbull mix with the heart of a teddy bear. This gentle senior has truly mastered the art of the good life: peaceful walks, sunny spots outside, delicious meals, and lots of cuddles with his people. Though he’s a bigger boy, Sparky is incredibly soft and sweet. His foster family says one of his most charming habits is quietly walking over while they’re sitting on the couch and placing his head on their leg. That’s his polite way of asking for cuddle time—and once he does it, it’s pretty much impossible to resist joining him on the floor for snuggles. Sparky is housebroken, non-destructive, and wonderfully polite on leash. He enjoys his walks and will greet other dogs with a friendly sniff before moving along. These days his energy level is low, and he’s happiest curling up near the people and dogs he loves. Every once in a while he’ll even surprise everyone with a little burst of zoomies in the yard! Sparky does have some arthritis, but he manages it well and mostly just appreciates soft places to rest and a slower pace of life. Sparky has also been diagnosed with mast cell tumors. While that can sound scary, the good news is that they are currently slow growing and are not affecting his quality of life. He’s simply a senior dog who deserves comfort, kindness, and a family to love for however many happy days lie ahead. And then there’s Gracie, his adorable 7-year-old fluffy sidekick, likely a Havanese mix. Where Sparky is calm and steady, Gracie brings the sparkle and silliness. She’s a happy, playful little dog who seems to wake up each day excited to make friends and have fun. Gracie is incredibly friendly with people and dogs alike—her tail starts wagging the moment she meets someone new. She enjoys her walks, greets other dogs politely on leash, and loves to play. Stuffed toys are her absolute favorite. Her foster family says she’ll sometimes toss a toy up into the air, flip onto her back, and flail her legs around in pure goofy joy. Other times she’ll happily play on the floor for ages, giving playful growls and little barks that make everyone laugh. But as playful as she is, Gracie is also a champion cuddler. She loves curling up on the couch after playtime and soaking up affection. Sometimes she’ll be resting nearby, then suddenly lift her little head just to give her foster a sweet lick on the chin. Her foster family describes her as playful, friendly, loving, sweet, and happy—and they say they will miss both the play sessions and the cuddles the most. Together, Sparky and Gracie make a beautiful pair. They balance each other perfectly—Sparky’s calm, gentle presence paired with Gracie’s playful spirit. Sparky especially relies on Gracie for comfort, and he becomes anxious when separated from her, so they must be adopted together. They are both housebroken, non-destructive, friendly with other dogs, and wonderful with children. They’re also great at meeting new people and settle into home life easily. If you’re looking for double the love, double the companionship, and a pair of dogs whose friendship will melt your heart, Sparky and Gracie are ready to fill your home with warmth, laughter, and cuddles. 🐾 The adoption fee for Sparky and Gracie together is $550. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Sparky and Gracie, please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt.
