Betsy is a FUN dog who loves to be with other dogs, maternal and bouncy. She is not aggressive or bossy but does have a bark and her terrier DNA comes out when meeting new smaller dogs. She has spent most of her time with bigger dogs and enjoys being the 'shortie' of the playgroup. Betsy is not food motivated, nibbles through the day, but has managed to become a bit fluffy. 50 lb dog now, she loves car rides, water! and sunbathing. Betsy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and very health - a bit fluffy as she has matured, now 4 years old. Her breed had been a guess until now! a donated DNA test revealed the classic Houston mutt mix of American Pit Bull Terrier, Lab, Boxer, German Shepherd, Shar Pei, Chow Chow. She is a short dog with medium double coat and a sharp mind. This cutie is Dixie, a 6 year old, 50 pound Pit Bull mix who is short in stature, and as sweet as pie with a little bit of spunk thrown in. Dixie loves giving kisses, really enjoys going for walks, playing with toys, and exploring and relaxing in the fenced in yard. Dixie warms up quickly to women and older children. When excited, she’ll get the zoomies and make the cutest noises. Dixie has been playful with most of the dogs in her foster home; she would be OK as the “one and only” dog in the home. She has good house manners and does not need to be crated when left alone. Dixie came to our rescue after a neglectful owner kept her in the basement as a “breeding machine” for years. Despite that horrible existence, it did not affect her from being one of the sweetest little dogs. She will make a great addition to most households and is approved for households with children over the age of 10.
