What we know about Gus: Great with dogs Great with kids (has lived with kids and another dog previously) Awesome temperament Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus is located in East, TN. But if you are seeing this on adopt-a-pet, transport fees are included in the adoption fee. Out of state adopters are welcomed. Transport is available to your area in the NorthEast or Great Lakes area. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road (Rescue Riders Transport)! What we know about Gus: Dog Friendly Kid Friendly Has lived with kids and another dog previously Awesome temperament NO cats Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus came to us extremely underweight, nearly bald, with open wounds all over his body due to Demodex mange. He has since recovered fully and is ready to find his forever family! Gus was far too interested in the cats when we cat tested him as his herding instincts are present with these types of animals. However, he is great with other dogs and we use him to help introduce new dogs to the rescue. He also does fantastic with the 3 year old human on the rescue property! Gus has gone out on multiple Doggie Day Outs and did so well each time! He was his happiest self at the dog park with his rescue buddy (Folly) who has since been adopted. He likes to meet new people and go for car rides! We think he could be a heeler mix because of the speckles but we truly still don’t have a great idea about breed. The regrowth of hair didn’t help us with this as much as we thought it would 😂 Note: Since Gus has a history of Demodex mange, this means he is genetically predisposed to this condition if he does not take flea/tick prevention regularly. He is currently on Simparica Trio and doing so well. Please let us know if you have any questions about this condition!

East TN. Out of state welcome! If you are seeing this on adopt a pet the float for transport and health certificates for travel are included in the adoption fee. Transport may be available to your area in the northeast or Great Lakes areas. We use Rescue riders for our transport needs because they are amazing with our pups! Meet Thumper! This little guy is about 40 lbs of playful and fun energy. He’s sweet and good with people and other dogs. He’s about 2.5 years old and is a mixed breed but a really cool Mixed breed. I mean look at his cute ears. He’s adorable. He’s already crate trained and house trained. NO CATS. He is not fond of cats. Probably won’t do well with smaller rodent type animals either. He will scream SQUIRREL! And the rest is history. Haha. He would do well with children over the age of 10 because he’s very playful and may knock smaller children down during playtime. I rescued Frankie almost two years ago. He is very loving and caring. He has quite the personality and is very caring. He can be quite the character as well. Unfortunately I have to re home him due to him not getting along with the other dogs in my house. He is fine as the only dog as he wants all the attention to himself. The site will not let me upload more photos. More available upon request.

Story
Hi, my name is Grover. I am a 1-2 year boxer mix that weighs in at around 65 pounds. I am a big boy. I am looking for a special home. Foster mom says I need to work on training. I can get a little attitude sometimes. I like to be possessive of things, especially rawhides. Also, sometimes I decide I don’t want to do things I am told to. We are working on this and foster mom has laid down some rules for me to follow. Overall I am a good boy, but I will sometimes try to be the boss. Because of this foster mom says I need a dog savvy, adult only home. I would probably do best in a home with 1 to 2 people to keep consistent training. I do come with free training classes in Oswego that will be required with adoption. I also need surgery on my knee. We postponed this to focus on training first. Once I get adopted and go through my training class I will need to have my surgery. Rover Rescue will pay for this as long as it is done at one at one of our vets. Now that we got that out of the way let’s talk about my good features. I am super sweet. I love to snuggle and get pets. I do well at adoption events and love the attention. I do well in the car but do need a seat belt as I tend to try and roam. I do pull on leash, but foster mom got me something called a gentle leader. I don’t like it, but it does help with walking and so I don’t go nuts over other dogs. I am super food motivated so that will help with my training. I will go into my crate as long as I get treats. Sometimes I can get a little whiney in there. I love to play! I love toys and will hand them over for you to throw. We are working on something called “drop it.” My foster mom has also been using a flirt poke which is like a giant cat toy that I love to chase around! Sometimes I just get the zoomies in the backyard. I live with 2 dogs that are around 25 pounds. I have been good with them. The trainer said probably no dogs smaller than that. Also, no cats or other small critters in the house would be best. Sometimes I forget my size and get overbearing. I think I would do best with a playful female about my size. Sometimes I can get a little dominant so probably best if they are a little more submissive. I can sometimes be a little picky about my canine friends at adoption events. I am a work in progress and need to find some willing to continue working with me. Foster mom thinks I will be worth it. Are you the right person to give me a chance? If you would like to meet me, please call Annie at 815-685-0746. My adoption fee is $225. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive

Meet Muffin! She is a deliciously sweet boxer mix girl who is looking for her FURever home. Muffin is around a year old and about 40 lbs. Story
Bella is one of the sweetest dogs we have in our care because she is so domesticated and sweet. She's also absolutely beautiful! You will absolutely get a treasure and will totally fall in love with her! Hi there! My name is Bella, and I'm a 5 year old pit bull terrier with a red and white coat. I know I'm a pretty girl, but I've had a tough life so far. You see, I once had a family who adopted me through a rescue, but somehow, I ended up all alone on the streets. Nobody is sure about what happened. Despite everything I've been through, I haven't lost my friendly and loving nature. I'm also very obedient! I have so much love to give, and all I want is a forever home with people who will love me back. I dream of a family who will give me lots of cuddles, take me on long walks, and make me feel safe and secure. I'm really good on the leash - I don't even pull! Right now, I'm staying with a trainer. Teresa and Angel Dog Alliance took me in so I wouldn't be put to sleep. They say the shelter is too full, and they want to help me find my perfect match. They're even going to give me some basic training, so I'll be all ready for my new home! I know I would make a wonderful companion. I'm sweet, loyal, and always ready for a snuggle. I promise to be your best friend and shower you with love every single day. All I need is a chance to show you what a great dog I can be. So, if you have a little extra room in your heart and your home, please consider fostering or adopting me. I know we could make so many happy memories together, and I would be forever grateful to have a family to call my own. I can't wait to meet you and start our new adventure together! With love and hope, Bella Bella will have gone through a basic training program prior to adoption! In this program she will have learned proper heeling on a leash, basic obedience, place command, off leash recall, people and dog socialization, kennel/potty training and more! After adoption process is finalized, the new owners will work with the trainer 1 on 1 to learn what Bella has learned in the program and how to keep up with training after going home. This will all be included in your adoption fee! ##2081395##

Story
Diesel (deaf pittie) is now in a wonderful foster home with another dog who he gets along famously with, and cats! He is a very special boy. Now, please help us find his forever home! Diesel, a deaf 3-year-old pittie with a heart of gold, needs a forever home. His world has been turned upside down after his owner, who had him since he was just 10 weeks old, suddenly passed away. Diesel was alone in an empty house, dealing with the trauma of losing the only family he's ever known. Every day, Diesel's late owner's daughter drove from Joliet to Alsip to check on him. However, she could take him home because her own dog is territorial. Diesel’s friendly nature and special needs made this an impossible situation. We're looking for an adoption home for him now that he is safe in a foster homes, we're looking for someone who works from home, can have him roam freely in the house (not crated), and is patient and willing to learn to communicate with signals. Will you open your home and heart to this sweeteheart? Meet Diesel: A Deaf Pittie with a Heart of Gold Diesel's Details:Age: Just turned 3 in AprilStatus: Neutered, up-to-date on shotsSpecial Needs: Deaf, but communicates beautifully through body gestures and hand signals Diesel is a gentle soul with a heart as big as his name. Despite the challenges life has thrown his way, this 3-year-old pittie remains loving, loyal, and eager to connect with those around him. Diesel's previous owner, who sadly passed away, taught him to respond to hand signals and body gestures. He knows how to sit, lie down, and give paw – all with a wagging tail and a look of pure joy. Diesel's Ideal Home:Diesel thrives in environments where he can roam freely and be a part of the family activities. Diesel is looking for a home where he can be understood and cherished for the incredible dog he is. What Diesel Needs:Patience: Understanding that Diesel is deaf and communicates differently.Love: A family that will shower him with affection and make him feel safe.Activity: Diesel enjoys being active and engaged. He would love a yard to play in or regular walks to explore his surroundings.Companionship: Diesel is a social dog who loves being around people. He would do best in a home where he isn't left alone for long periods. Diesel's Friendly Nature:Diesel grew up with another dog and a cat for about a year, so he’s well-socialized with other animals. He’s also good with kids, making him a wonderful family dog. Although, older children are he so he can adjust and cope given his deafness. He's is very friendly and loving, always ready to shower his humans with affection. While he does like to jump, this behavior is likely due to the lack of social activity he’s had since his previous owner passed away. With a bit of training and regular interaction, Diesel will quickly adapt to a new routine. Diesel is ready to begin a new chapter filled with love, joy, and endless tail wags. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Diesel? He promises to repay you with unwavering loyalty and a lifetime of love. Adopt Diesel Today and Give Him the Forever Home He Deserves! ##2122499##
