Mikey formerly Mike Tyson is one of 4 boxer lab mixes that arrived here years ago as puppies. They all had human boxer names. He was adopted 3 years ago and when his family’s circumstances changed, rather than contact the rescue for assistance in rehoming him, his family gave him away to a coworker about 1 1/2 ago. Rover Rescue only learned of this because he was found by animal control and we were notified. He is skin and bones and has hair loss due to fleas and possibly mange. Animal Control was going to put him down because he was so scared and growling. I am so thankful that we were called!! Mikey is now back in foster care and doing great. He is being treated for his skin rash and he is loving all his furry friends. He is very sweet and was only growling because he was so terrified. It would’ve been a tragedy to lose him. This is the second time this poor fella found himself needing his life to be saved. He is looking for a FOREVER home. One where he can live the good life and not a hint of worry about where his next meal is coming from or if he has a tomorrow! It will take a little time for his coat to fill back in to the beautiful black and brindle boy that he was. He is house trained, crate trained, and sniffed the kitties at the vet without issue. He is also bilingual. He understands some English and Spanish commands. He is good with other dogs and people. He is altered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations. She has never had any accidents in the house. She is great on walks. She listens and learned how to sit almost immediately. She is very playful and aims to please. Hi my name is Cardinal! I am about a year old male Boxer/Hound mix weighing in at about 40lbs. Because of my age I can be a ball of energy, but with that said I also love to cuddle up on the couch for long naps. I can be a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you I’ll always want to be by your side. When it comes to other pups I also can be a bit shy at first but once I warm up we could play all day. I am still working on my basic commands but I learn quicker with a pup who already knows the ropes and can show me how it's done. My foster mom thinks I’d be better off with a fenced in yard as I love to explore the yard and sun bathe in the grass. I haven’t been around kids or cats so I am not sure how I feel about them. I think I’d do better with another dog but I also love to be the center of attention so I should be okay by myself. I’m still working on my confidence but my foster mom thinks I’ll be the perfect addition to anyone willing to help me build it up.
