Kokomo Joe's story is heartbreaking—he was abandoned and starved when his previous owner was incarcerated, leaving him to fend for himself while his housemates were fed. When he first arrived, he was painfully thin, with every rib and his hip bones showing. He also had some food aggression, but who could blame him after all he'd been through? Thankfully, with regular meals and love, he now understands he’ll never go hungry again. He’s no longer protective of his food and hasn’t shown any signs of food aggression since. Despite his past, Kokomo Joe’s spirit shines bright! He’s a true fun-loving goober who doesn’t realize his own size. Whether he’s hopping around like Tigger or cuddling up as if he’s a tiny lap dog, this big guy will keep you smiling. His crate and house manners are spot-on—zero accidents here! Hi! My name is Jax, and I’m a 4 year boxer/pit mix who weighs 50 lbs. I’m super sweet and absolutely love being around people. I’m very much a cuddle bug (and think I’m a lap dog). I’ve also been very happy playing with other dogs. Cats have not been my favorite though. Walks are one of my favorite things and I walk well on a leash. I also love running around in the yard and playing fetch with tennis balls. They’re cool, but my absolute favorite are stuffies that squeak. I can entertain myself with them but also will beg to play tug of war. I’m also super smart and already know sit, lie down, stay, crate, right, come, and paw. I’m energetic and active but also settle fast and am happy to cuddle or sleep in my bed. Although, I have separation anxiety and get stressed when alone, so I would do best in a home where I’m not alone for too long. Sometimes, I let out a light growl when a door opens into the house or a room. It seems like I do it out of caution, but immediately relax once I know who it is. I tend to be a little more weary of men than women in that regard. I currently sleep in my bed next to my foster mom’s bed, but should do fine in a crate in the room as well. Olive is a three-year-old boxer mix. She currently weighs in at 46 pounds and could use a few more pounds on her frame. The vet thinks 50 pounds would be her ideal weight. What a gem this girl is! She knows how to sit, shake and takes treats very gently from your hand. She's great on a leash and loves to go for walks. Olive is housebroken and crate trained. She really doesn't need to be crated. She has great house manners. She loves to watch the world go by from the bench by my living room window or from the bed in my guest room. She loves to take a snooze on the dog beds here but would like it even more if her forever home would let her on the couch. Meet Brutus 💙 Brutus is 5-6 years old and is a deeply affectionate, people-loving boy who thrives on closeness with his humans. He loves cuddling, being petted, and will happily sleep next to you at night. Wherever you go, Brutus is likely to follow — often carrying his favorite soothing toy in his mouth for comfort. He is good with other dogs. Brutus knows basic commands and is fully housebroken, which makes settling into a new home much easier. He enjoys playtime, especially tug-of-war, and he takes his toy destruction job very seriously (squeaker toys beware!). He walks well on leash and does best wearing a harness, ideally a front-clip harness. He may pull a little and can bark when he sees people out on walks, but he recovers quickly and continues on. I’m a curious, affectionate pup who loves to watch the world from the window—dogs, people, squirrels, you name it. I’m super food-motivated and eager to please, which makes training a breeze, especially if treats are involved. I may take a second to figure out what you’re asking, but I always try my best to get it right. 🐶 Cherrybelle 🐶 2-3 yrs old Pittie mix 55lbs Do over! You know when you find yourself in a messy situation and you just really need a reset button? That's where I am! I had a rough beginning without all the love I now know that I deserve. Can you relate? Now, with the help of an amazing rescue team and my foster family I've had some time to work on me and get the care and love I needed. I'm getting my Do Over! I had heartworm, got treatment, beat it! I had cherry-eye, got surgery, no more eye problems! I was very underweight, I've been eating well with extra treats! I now have a strong and healthy body with a beautiful coat. I didn't even know how to doggo! Now I know how to play with toys and run the yard with my doggo friends. I may have even rolled in the mud a couple times heh... not gonna lie, it was messy but fun! I am house broken and crate trained. I don't LOVE my crate but I do well with it. I eat in there so I don't have to worry about the other dogs trying to steal my food and I also stay in there when my people are gone and when it's bedtime. 🐾 Meet Fletcher – A Loyal Soul Learning to Trust Again 🐾 Fletcher’s story didn’t start kindly. He came to us from a Texas shelter where dogs are euthanized for space, and he was running out of time. We don’t know the full details of his past, but it’s clear Fletcher loved his humans deeply — and was abandoned and let down. When Fletcher arrived, he had a large scar on his back leg, a quiet reminder of the neglect he endured before rescue. The injury rarely causes him to limp, and he has been fully vet-checked and medically cleared. It’s an old injury and no further medical care is needed. Because of this history, Fletcher is slow to warm up. He wants to love again, but he’s afraid to give his whole heart and risk being hurt another time. Once he trusts you, his loyalty is unmatched. 🏡 At Home Fletcher is a champion sleeper and an elite cuddler. He’s calm, laid-back indoors, and happiest curled up next to his person — often taking over the entire bed. A home that doesn’t mind a bed hog is a must! 🐶 With Other Dogs Fletcher does great with other dogs and enjoys their company, but he needs slow, respectful introductions.
