Story

🐾 Meet Polly — The Cutest Pocket Pittie! 💕 Polly is a 3-year-old pocket-sized Pittie with the sweetest soul and a whole lot of love to give. She may be little, but this girl has a BIG heart! Polly is sweet, cuddly, and adventurous, and she is happiest when she is spending time with her people. Her perfect day? Give her some chew toys, let her have a little playtime, and then settle in for cuddles and a good nap. Honestly, Polly has mastered the art of living her best life. 🥰 Polly has a medium energy level. She enjoys playing and exploring, but she also knows how to relax. She absolutely loves her stuffies and chew toys—and apparently, shoes are pretty fantastic too! 👟😂 So her forever family should be prepared to keep those tempting treasures out of reach. What Polly really wants is something she may not have had enough of in her past: her people. She loves attention and affection, and you can tell that having someone to love and be loved by means everything to her. Her foster family would love to see her go to someone who has time to spend with her and will show her just how wonderful it is to be part of a family. Polly does wonderfully with other dogs and would be happy to have a canine friend. She enjoys a playful home and would especially love a fenced yard where she can safely explore and enjoy some outdoor time. When Polly first meets someone or enters a new environment, she can be a little nervous, but she warms up quickly. Once she realizes she's safe, her sweet personality comes shining through. She does well with children 10 and older. Polly is crate trained and does well when left alone. She should continue to be crated when unsupervised. She is still working on potty training and leash skills, so her new family will need to be patient and consistent as she learns. She knows her name and “sit” and is eager to keep learning. And when it comes to toys or food, Polly has no resource-guarding issues. She is simply a happy girl who wants to enjoy her toys and be near her people. ❤️ Polly's Favorite Things: 🧸 Stuffies 🦴 Chew toys 💕 Cuddles 😴 Naps 🐶 Playing with other dogs 🌳 Exploring 👟 Apparently… shoes! 😂 Polly is spayed and on monthly preventative. Her foster family says it best: “She is the absolute best dog I have ever met, given her history. I love her and I hope someone else can too.” And we hope so too. ❤️ Polly has so much love left to give. She just needs someone who will give her the time, patience, affection, and stability she deserves. If you're looking for a sweet little companion who wants nothing more than to be loved and included, Polly may be the perfect girl for you. This little pocket Pittie is ready for her forever people. 🐾💕 Apply to adopt at: https://www.woofanimalrescue.org/adopt This dog is currently located in Chicago's southwest suburbs and can be seen by appointment once an adoption application is completed and approved by the rescue. Story

My in-laws live in a farm type area where dogs seem to have a record of getting abandoned and they found her and I took her in. she was malnourished and very weak, now a year and a half later she’s close to being able to jump 5 ft and has so much energy, she loves to try to eat socks and is scared of fireworks and garbage trucks and she hates lawnmowers! She is motivated by snacks and loves going on walks. She loves attention and wants to be near someone all the time, the best part about lil cuja is that she is the softest dog I have ever pet. My work schedule is just too busy and my house is just too small for her, I know she deserves a home with someone who will have more time for her and a bigger(fenced) yard for her. She loves to play with her toys and with whoever thinks they can beat her in tug of war

Story

The Adventures of Eloise: The Plaza Pup of the Foster Home Meet Eloise. She is a four-month-old boxer mix with a sleek coat, expressive little wrinkles, and an absolute zest for life. Much like her famous literary namesake who famously declared that she lives at The Plaza, our little Eloise lives in a world just as grand—her very own bustling foster home, where she reigns supreme as the resident mischief-maker and professional entertainer. Life with Eloise is never, ever quiet. A Girl About Town (The Foster House Edition) While the book character had the grand halls of a New York hotel, our Eloise has a sprawling kingdom complete with soft dog beds to crash into, laundry baskets to inspect, and squeaky toys to rescue. She is a social butterfly of the highest order. She loves everybody she comes into contact with—delivery drivers, visiting friends, the mail carrier, and every human who dares cross her path. Her love extends warmly to other dogs, too. Instant best friends! She will do a bouncy, front-legged play bow, inviting any canine she meets to a high-speed game of tag. The Ultimate Big Sister Hug Above all her favorite things in the world, nothing compares to her big sister, Grace. Eloise looks up to Grace with pure adoration. Whenever they share a quiet moment on the rug, Eloise will gently wrap her little front paws right around Grace's neck, pulling her close in a heartfelt, genuine doggy hug. Grace just sighs happily, letting her mischievous little shadow snuggle right in. Learning to Be a Very Good Girl Of course, being four months old means Eloise is a whirlwind of puppy energy. She is currently learning all about the finer points of manners—like how sitting politely and waiting for her turn gets you the best treats. She is working hard every single day to be a very good girl, though her mischievous twinkle never quite fades from her eyes. Whether she’s zooming across the yard, staging a comedy routine with her favorite stuffed duck, or wrapping her paws around Grace for a sweet embrace, Eloise is pure sunshine wrapped in fur. She is ready to bring all that boundless joy, laughter, and love to her very own forever family.. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $300. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive and flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story

Meet Lily! Lily is one of those special dogs who will melt your heart with her loving gaze. After surviving long months in a high-kill shelter, including a flood, she was finally rescued and is ready for the forever home she deserves. Lily is loving, affectionate, and happy spending time with everyone. Her cuddles have a way of making the stresses of the day melt away. She would make a wonderful companion for a person or family looking for a loyal best friend who will happily soak up your love and attention. Her beautiful brindle coat is reminiscent of a little tiger, and her white paws look like she's wearing socks — long ones in the front and short ones in the back. Lily is doing well with going potty outside and walks well on a leash. She is curious about people food but gives up fast when told no. She is working on commands and is a quick learner. After everything she has been through, Lily deserves a family who will show her what forever really means. Adopt Lily and she will repay you with a lifetime of unconditional love, loyalty, and cuddles. Lily is a good mix of energetic but chill. And is happy to run around doing zoomies. Or sitting nice looking out people watching. (At the shelter Lily was not a fan of cats so belongs in a cat-free home.)This dog is good with people and other dogs. If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive and flea/tick preventive - deworming

Story

Hi, I`m Cipher and I`m living the good life in a foster home! My foster dad has great things to say about me:Cipher has had a pretty rough start to life. He was born deaf and with only one eye, and later, after being abandoned by the people who were supposed to care for him, he had to fend for himself. But you’d never know it from the sweet, loving dog he is today. Cipher doesn’t let his past define him. He loves people, loves dogs, loves cats, and is happiest when he can simply be near his humans.Cipher is house trained, knows some basic commands, and is very food motivated, which makes him a highly trainable guy. And don’t let the one eye fool you—his beautiful blue eye sees just fine! He gets around wonderfully and has no trouble enjoying life. He especially loves running around the backyard and having a good time. One thing we’ve been working on together is Cipher’s separation anxiety. Given everything he’s been through, it’s understandable that being away from his people can be hard for him. The good news is that he has made marked improvement in just the few weeks he’s been with me. He has never been destructive because of it, and with patience, consistency, and time, I think he will continue to gain confidence and learn that his people always come back.Cipher would love a home with another dog to be his buddy, and a fenced backyard where he can stretch his legs and run would make him very happy. Most importantly, he would do best with someone who is home most of the time, at least while he gets settled and learns that he is finally safe and loved.Cipher has already overcome so much. He’s a sweet, affectionate, goofy guy who just wants a person to love and a place to belong. He deserves a family who will give him the time and patience to feel secure—and in return, he’ll give you his whole heart.

Story

My Requirements:-Must be only petHi, I`m Astro. I`m an easy-going guy who knows how to be a great companion. I`m housebroken, easy to walk, affectionate and playful. I love a good game of fetch, but I`m just as happy hanging out with my person.I`ve been someone`s dog for most of my life, and I`d really like a home of my own again. A good walk, a comfy bed, some ear scratches and time with my person sound wonderful to me.I need to be your only pet, but I`m pretty good company all by myself. I have allergies, but they`re well managed with food and medication, and WSHS is happy to help make my care as easy as possible. If you`re looking for a really nice dog to share your days with, I`d love to meet you.
