Story
Newman was born on January 1st, 2021 and is now 3 years old. He is a very sweet and loyal partner. Newman loves to snuggle and loves treats. He will follow you around wherever you go, but he also loves to just chill in his bed. He isn’t big on toys, he prefers to get scratches. Newman is a very sweet dog but unfortunately he does not like our senior male dog. He is crate trained. Newman gets along with our female dogs perfectly fine! So he may be okay in a home with a female companion or as an only dog!

Story
Meet Candy! She is a 2 yr old spayed female Boxer/Pitbull mix that weighs 42lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/17 as a stray. She is a cute little girl but does not understand why she is at the shelter. She is a bit shy at first but does warm up. Candy loves to sit close, cuddle and get tummy rubs. It appears she may have lived inside and been housetrained. And she has told me having a loving happy home where she lives inside, having her own fluffy dog bed, and receiving lots of petting, is exactly what she dreams of. She walks well on a leash and takes treats gently. All of the other dogs barking does make her a bit uneasy, yet she showed no aggression to them. We always do ask if there will be another dog in the home to please ask the shelter for a dog test. She is very gentle, kind and loving and her name says exactly who she is. Come spend time with Candy.

Story
Coco or Coconuts was found living at the location where I work. I was able to catch her and bring her home with me to make sure nothing bad happened to her. She appears to be under one year of age and a completely lovable puppy. I have held on to her for a month, trying to find her owners, but I have had no luck. She gets along very well with my dog and loves being around people. She is the biggest cuddle bug. We have worked on house training, which she has done very well. She loves going on runs and would do great with an active lifestyle. If you are looking for an adorable cuddle bug, Coco may be the one for you. I cannot keep her due to the large amount of traveling for work that I do. I have a kennel, collar, and leash you may take with her. I will also cover the fee to have her fixed.

Hi! I'm Cookie! I am a 6 year old female Boxer/Bulldog mix around 45 Lbs. I was originally found at Hickory Ridge Park in Rockwall on 03/13/23 and was never reclaimed. I have been patiently waiting for my FURever home for 405 days as of 04/23/24. Since I am considered a Diamond Dog, I have a reduced adoption fee of $75. I am spayed, microchipped, current on my rabies vaccination and basic yearly boosters. Story
Hello, my name is Cristoph! I am a 1-year-old, male Boxer mix weighing approx. 59 lbs. I was originally found in the Providence Subdivision in Rockwall on 09/14/2023 and sadly never reclaimed. I am a sweet boy who enjoys going on walks and loves to play. I have made lots of canine friends since I've been at the shelter, but I would like to find a real home and family to love. I am house broken, crate trained, and am overall a very good boy! If you have other pets in the home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we get along before taking me home! I can be nervous around small children and am suggested with kids 13 years and older. Since I have been a shelter resident for 218 days as of 04/20/24, I am a Diamond Dog with a reduced adoption fee of $75. I am neutered, current on rabies vaccination, basic boosters, microchip and heartworm negative! If you are interested in making me a part of your family, you are welcome to fill out an adoption application listed here: https://rockwalladoptions.com/adoptfoster/adoption-application/.  All animals, unless otherwise noted in their description, are at 1825 Airport Rd. in Rockwall, TX. Story
We adopted Mikey off of a Craigslist ad back in November 2014, he was 8 months old. At the time we lived in a house with 2 acres to play on. 5 years ago we moved into an apartment and that has been an adjustment for everyone. My husband and I have recently moved into different roles at work requiring more hours than it did 4 years ago. Mikey is a fun, loving, goofy boy and loves love. I don't think he knows a stranger! He gets along with other dogs, cats, people and kids. He would do well in a home with lots of activity that involves him, or if they have kids or someone who has the time the ability to spend lots of time with him. He is crate trained, house broken, knows basic commands, and walks great on a leash. He would do well in a home that would allow him to roam freely in those following his people room to room with the ability to go play outside whenever he wants. Update- he is now current on vaccines, heartworm negative and back on prevention 4-6-24

These pups are in Garland, Texas too!

Story
Hi everyone! My name is Jet because I’m super fast and jet black as you can see. I love all people and dogs, even the ones who bark too much and are cranky. Everyone is my friend on walks at the dog park and daycare which is heaven!!! Since my foster Dad found me off the highway when I was skinny & limping he has done everything he can to help me even though he is a cat dad and never had a dog. He even took me to one on one training so we both could learn what to do. We've both come so far and we're both so well behaved now haha. I was neutered in early January and it's helped me calm down lots. From day one belly rubs and hugs have been my thing. I can't get enough and go bonkers when my foster gets home or picks me up at daycare. I'm super sweet and will give kisses and actually smile and hug you or hold hands. I've learned to sleep next to him as well and it's really nice to snuggle. I'm pretty much house trained and my foster didn't even know what he was doing, but he put out pee pads for me and I learned to go on those and then to hold it and go to the patio door or wake him up so I can go pee outside. If I don't wake him I used the pee pads and he is so proud of me. He has let me run around the whole backyard and depending on the weather has the AC or heat on in the shed so I can go in there when I want and he gave me a bed and food and water and many things to chew. I’ll chew on things if they’re left out but in the six months I've lived here now it's really only the toys he gives me and old shoes he lets me chew up. I really want a brother or sister to play with and humans that are dog people as I'm super super sociable. Sometimes my hip still hurts me so I need someone who will give me rest days as well as daycare! The only thing I need to complete my perfect life is a forever home. If you would like to meet me please contact this pawsome group!. I'd sure love to meet you!

Story
Looking for a home for Harley, an adorable female pit mix, chipped, spayed, and up to date on her shots. We adopted her from the Garland shelter during the summer. She's around 2 years old and 60lb, should be done growing. She's housebroken and does great inside and outside, not a single accident in our house. She loves to play with people and other dogs, you can throw balls in the yard all day and she'll keep bringing them back to you. Harley has low energy while the family is out most of the day, but she can get bored, so hard toys like bones and rubber Kongs do the trick. Her play energy is unfortunately too much for our older, smaller pets, we have to keep them separated more often than not. After several months, the resident dog and cat still haven't warmed up to her, and we won't be able to keep Harley.
