Story
Danika is a beautiful 58 pound 6-year-old black-and-white Pointer/Boxer mix (best guess) with the perfect balance of playful and laid-back.
Though she can be shy at first, she loves her daily walks, enjoys a good game of tug, and is just as happy relaxing nearby while her people work or unwind. She’s the kind of dog who simply enjoys being part of the family.
Danika is thriving in her foster home, where she lives with her foster mom and a teenage daughter—Danika was found with another dog, a sweet male we named Dalton, who has already been adopted. Their special bond has shown us that Danika enjoys the companionship of another calm, friendly male dog, and she would likely thrive best in a similar situation.
She has wonderful house manners and is fully house trained, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Danika is affectionate without being demanding, has an easygoing personality, and settles in beautifully at home. She would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving dog to share walks, quiet evenings, and everyday life.
If you’re looking for a mature dog who has left her difficult past behind and is ready to spend the rest of her life being cherished, Danika may be the perfect addition to your family.
**Danika prefers women over men so we are looking for a home with all women or a single woman. Older teens are just fine, but we are not recommending small children as they may be too busy or boisterous for her.**

WHEN YOU FOSTER- we provide all the supplies and any medical care still needed such as boosters and monthly heartworm/flea/tick prevention!
ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, kdewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care. All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!

Dogs (over 12 months) - $275
Qualifications for Adoption: No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.
Must be home more than not.
Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.
Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address.
Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household.
Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting.
Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet.
Must have a secure fence if in a house.
All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.
DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas.
