Story
Meet Murphy! A charming six-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Austin, TX, whose essence is a lively blend of curiosity and affection wrapped in a handsome tan coat with bright white accents. He is a 65-pound bundle of energy who greets each day with enthusiasm, especially if it includes long walks, open space to run, and the irresistible promise of cheese treats! Murphy is an affectionate boy who truly enjoys being near his people, happily hanging out wherever the action is. He is playful and high energy, with a love for chewing bones, chasing balls, and hopping into the car for an adventure. His curious nature means he likes to explore, though he can be a little cautious when encountering unfamiliar sights or sounds. With patience and gentle encouragement, he grows more confident and relaxed. Murphy thrives in a consistent routine, enjoying twice daily meals, regular walks, and restful nights in his crate. He is house-trained, comes when called, and knows commands like sit, stay, and come, showing his eagerness to learn and connect. He is friendly with other dogs and has done well with a younger pup, making him a wonderful companion for a home with canine friends. Murphy would do well in an active, structured environment with an experienced guardian who understands large, energetic breeds and can provide a secure fenced yard or room to roam. He may even surprise you with his occasional digging adventures and his joyful enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures. His love for companionship means he appreciates a present and engaged pet parent who can offer guidance, playtime, and plenty of shared moments. With positive reinforcement and continued learning opportunities, Murphy blossoms into a confident, joyful partner ready for daily adventures and quiet evenings alike with his family. Could Murphy be the spirited sidekick who makes your days brighter and your walks a little more exciting? To learn more or welcome him into your family, reach out at adopt@joyfulpets.com! Story
Derby is a 7-month-old sweetheart with the biggest heart and the cutest little nickname — “Derpy.” She is deaf, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. In fact, it just makes her extra special. Derby is incredibly cuddly and absolutely adores being close to her people. If you’re looking for a snuggle bug, she’s your girl. She gets along beautifully with large dogs, small dogs, cats, and kids — she truly just wants to be everyone’s friend. Despite having a very ruff start in life, Derby is blossoming into the happiest, wiggliest little ray of sunshine. Watching her confidence grow has been such a gift. She can still be a little nervous at times, but with patience and love, she continues to come out of her shell more each day. She’s also the heaviest sleeper you’ll ever meet — once she’s out, she’s out! Derby walks nicely on a leash and is currently working on her potty training (she’s making progress!). She’s learning, growing, and trying her very best every single day. This sweet girl deserves a home filled with love, patience, and cozy cuddle spots. Her perfect family is out there — and when they find her, they’ll wonder how they ever lived without their little Derpy girl. https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##2660088##

True to her name, Wallflower is shy with new people. Loud rooms and fast movements can make her pause and hang back. But here’s the thing about Wallflower…Once she decides you’re safe? She blooms. She’ll lean into your hand. She’ll give you those soft, searching eyes. She’ll show you the sweetest, gentlest version of herself. She doesn’t give her heart away instantly — and honestly, that just makes it more special when she does. She will need a patient home willing to let her move at her own pace. No rushing. No pressure. Story
SWEET, PRECIOUS RUBY!! She was purchased as a tiny puppy and after 5 years her family decided they no longer wanted the responsibility. We have NEVER seen a more loving, wiggly, kissy, happy little girl!! Her mom was a Pug and her dad was an APBT. In person you can really see her little Pug face. Ruby is spayed, current on all vaccinations and microchipped. She wiggles and kisses literally every person she sees. We are slowly introducing her to the dogs in her foster home and will have more information soon. This baby deserves her own home full of love. For more information, please call 903-967-3226 or email can.adoptions@yahoo.com.

Story
Oak is looking for a loving foster home where they can rest and recover while receiving medical treatment. Oak is learning all the puppy things, and loves a toy to tug. Oak is ready to bring some silliness & fun into your day! Reason for Foster: Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) + GI upset Foster Time Frame: Approximately 2 Weeks (The foster timeframe may vary depending on recovery and any follow-up medical needs.) Foster Care Plan: Oak is being treated for an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. While recovering, they may have symptoms such as sneezing, congestion, and nasal/eye discharge. Because URI can be contagious to other dogs, we recommend keeping them separated from resident dogs until they have fully recovered. He is also being treated for GI upset with a gut friendly diet for 10 days. They will go home with medication and all the supplies needed for their care. Once treatment is complete, they will return to Operation Kindness for their neuter surgery and adoption. How to take this pet home: Adopt: Oak is available through our Foster-to-Adopt Program, which allows prospective adopters to take pets home before they are available for adoption. Visit Operation Kindness and speak with our Client Services team. Foster-to-Adopt placements are first-come, first-served. Foster: Interested in fostering this pet? Email foster@operationkindness.org.
