Story
I found this sweet boy shivering and terrified in the rain on 11/24 morning. I’ve posted him on multiple sites but I’m afraid he’s not anyone’s missing dog. I’ve already rescued 3 dogs and my landlord won’t allow a 4th. It breaks my heart to adopt him but am praying for a loving home. He’s so sweet. I was able to bath him and he never got aggressive with me. I have to leave town in two days so I know it’s asking a lot but praying someone can help me.

** Please read to the end to learn how to adopt! Gus is an adorable and affectionate Boxer mix who is eager to find his forever home.  He has turned out to be THE best boy and is loved by everyone that meets him!   He is an intelligent dog who is good with other dogs and is loyal to those around him. This handsome boy has been fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and tested Negative for heartworms!!   He was about 62 pounds when rescued from the streets, and he is still thin.  We believe he is approximately 2 years old, maybe less.  He sometimes still urinates like a puppy and he's so curious about Everything... sneaks up on anything unfamiliar.  It's so cute to watch! Gus is house-trained and he knows 'sit.'  He takes treats very gently from your hand and will give you big kisses in return.  He's playful, but will chill with you on the couch, too ! He is good with other dogs and children.  He's an all-around great dog and has many years ahead to fill your life with love and fun!   If you're looking for a sweet and friendly dog, Gus is the one for you!    Please apply to Foster OR Adopt Brady by completing the online application you will find near his photos on our website,  www.BaytownHumaneSociety.org

Story
Anyone up for some Tea? This sweet and curious girl may be a little shy at first, but once she warms up, she’ll steal your heart. Tea’s favorite things in life are her ball, yummy treats, and mealtime—so it doesn’t take much to make her happy! Normally a quiet and laid-back pup, she has the cutest little bark when she decides to use it. Tea would do best in a home with older children, as she has a habit of putting things in her mouth like a curious toddler. Once you’ve earned her trust, she’ll gladly curl up in your lap and soak up all the head rubs she can get. With a medium-to-high energy level, Tea is always up for playtime but also enjoys relaxing with her favorite humans. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and playful companion, Tea is ready to bring warmth and love into your home! Could Tea be the perfect match for you? To meet Tea, please fill out an application! Application available at https://www.pawsofloverescue.com/adoption-application . $295 Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption. Dallas/Ft. Worth area Applications can be found online at www.pawsofloverescue.com, under the adopt tab.  We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.  October 22, 2025, 6:51 pm

Story
Kona is a 7 year old pitty boxer mix with a sweet little crooked piggy tail! She is about 40 pounds of cuddly love. She was adopted as a young pup from a shelter in Sunnyvale, TX, where she had some injuries to her tail and back leg. Thankfully, both are all healed up now, but they still have a unique look! She is up to date on all vaccines and is microchipped. Konaâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s energy level fluctuates between zoomies in the backyard and passed out on the couch, and not much in between! Her biggest excitement comes from seeing the people she loves, but her favorite place is on the couch with some comfy blankets, where she would spend most of the day if she could. Add a chew toy, and she would be in heaven! She likes other dogs after a warming up period and has been living happily with another dog. She adores her humans too, but she might need a little time to get over her shyness. She would be happiest in a home without cats or small children. While she would love to have an owner who works from home to keep her company while she naps on the couch all day, she is crate trained and is currently sleeping in her crate at night (though she would love to take up space on someoneâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s bed!). She loves end of day snuggles laying between your legs on a blanket and watching tv. She is food motivated and knows the word â&#194&#128&#194&#156sitâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 as well as her name. Kona is quite a homebody and not the biggest fan of walks, but if it means making you happy, she will go! She is being rehomed through no fault of her own. Kona has become very stressed in a home with a baby, and would prefer to be the baby of the house herself. While she has some mild seasonal allergies, her chronic stress has taken a toll on her skin â&#194&#128&#194&#148 and while she acclimates to a more calm environment, she may need some special skincare! This sweet, goofy girl has so much love to give and deserves a home where she can relax and curl up on the couch in peace! If you think she would be a good fit in your home, apply to adopt Kona today! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Kona, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Meet Sharae Jo aka Dora the explorer. She is 9 months, weighing 28 lbs., boxer mix with a vibrant fawn coat. Sharae was rescued under a church with her five siblings and her mother at just a few weeks old. Sharae is a very energetic, loving and a very independent pup who loves to explore all of her surroundings. Sharae is very shy with other dogs, but warms up once getting to know them. She has not been around cats. She currently resides with her mom, two siblings and a Lab. Sharae loves water especially playing in her puppy pool. She is one smart pup! She loves a good car ride and loves the outdoors. An ideal home for Sharae would be one that is safe and comfortable where she will receive plenty of love, affection and training. Because she is a pup, would love to put her in an environment with a family that has children, if possible.l, but not required. Sharae is partially crate trained with no issues sleeping or playing in one. However, she does not potty inside, as she will bark to inform you when she needs to go. Sharae will need continued training on a leash and basic commands. Sharae has received the following vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella, DHPP. She is microchipped and will be spayed on 06/17/2025. Reason for rehoming: Sharae is currently under temporary care by her rescue family who are unable to keep her permanently. This happy-go-lucky pup is deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt Sharae today! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * If you have a specific question about Sharae Jo, then please email newdigs@dallaspetsalive.org. Story
Meet Ida May! She is a beautiful 4 yr-old 38lb silvery gray terrier pit that arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 10/26 as a stray. She sits and even dances for treats, but she doesn`t take them gently, so additional training would be needed. After she enjoyed stretching her legs in the yard, she came back to me and stayed close. When I sat down, she came to me to have her ears scratched. She’s friendly, outgoing, sweet, gentle and has a little zip in her step. She’s very aware of her surroundings. She walked with a purpose, and I think the purpose was to get out in the yard and do her business. She was not interested in meeting other dogs. We do always ask if you have another dog in the home, please ask the shelter for a dog test. She confided in me that she would love to have a secured yard of her own to play in, but definitely wants to be an inside dog so she can enjoy all the luxuries of her new home and her loving human companions.

Story
This delightful and enthusiastic youngster is Axle, a pitbull terrier mix weighing 33lbs and at 10 months old that came in as a stray on 10/19. Axel walks nicely on a leash. He was so thrilled to get out in our yard and stretch his legs. He is very excitable and will jump on you. He is a tail-wagging life-of-the-party kind of pup who wants to be close to a human friend. He is very sociable and more than happy to be petted and loved on. He is crazy about treats and will sit constantly in order to receive more! This youngster needs to be in a household with no cats. His dream home would include a couple of soft cushy beds, an inside life with his people, daily playtime and exercise, and he is even willing to work hard at learning some commands. I think he would make a good pupil!

Story
Meet Brindi! She is a 3yr old spayed female brindle pitbull mix that weighs 60lbs. She came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 5/15 as a stray. She is a beauty! She is an easy-going, happy, friendly girl that always has a smile on her face and can’t wait to go out for walks. And this girl loves to chase tennis balls! You can’t have too many for her to play with, and she is fantastic at catching them midair. She also chews through the tennis balls so having a strong sturdier ball would be just what she needs to have. In between chasing, she will come to you for plenty of petting and to have her ears scratched. She is a strong leash walker, sits for treats and does take them gently. She may be housetrained too. She didn’t show any interest in the other dogs barking at her, but if you have another dog in the home, please ask the shelter for a dog test. She is an affectionate girl hoping to find her own loving family. Having a secured yard to play in, then come back inside to cuddle with you on the couch would be her dream.
