Derby is a 7-month-old sweetheart with the biggest heart and the cutest little nickname — “Derpy.” She is deaf, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. In fact, it just makes her extra special. Derby is incredibly cuddly and absolutely adores being close to her people. If you’re looking for a snuggle bug, she’s your girl. She gets along beautifully with large dogs, small dogs, cats, and kids — she truly just wants to be everyone’s friend. Despite having a very ruff start in life, Derby is blossoming into the happiest, wiggliest little ray of sunshine. Watching her confidence grow has been such a gift. She can still be a little nervous at times, but with patience and love, she continues to come out of her shell more each day. She’s also the heaviest sleeper you’ll ever meet — once she’s out, she’s out! Derby walks nicely on a leash and is currently working on her potty training (she’s making progress!). Howie was scheduled to be euthanized at Dallas Animal Services; I saved him and am looking for a good home. Howie is approximately 9 yrs old. He loves people but may be a bit protective. He lives with 2 other dogs and a blind cat. He did have some issues in the beginning trying to acclimate to the pack but is now doing well. He loves toys and food and sometimes may get a little aggressive with the other dogs if they try to take from him. Howie just wants his own person to adore. He will follow you everywhere. He does not get on furniture but loves his doggy bed. Howie does not like to be confined. He will have some separation anxiety at first. Howie would be great for a retired person that wants company and a best friend. Howie may do best in a home, as he will let you know when he hears strange noises or sees someone walking by.

Meet the strong, mighty loving pup, Shasta. She turned 1 year old in February, weighs 69 lbs., and is a Boxer mix with a unique brindle coat. Shasta was rescued under a church with her five siblings and her mother at just a few weeks old. Shasta is a very powerful and bossy pup who still plays well with her siblings. Shasta loves playing with other dogs, showing them love and affection. She has not been around cats. She currently resides with her mother, two siblings and a Lab. Shasta is a very clever pup! She enjoys jogs, and playing catch. She also loves good car rides and the great outdoors. An ideal home for Shasta would be one that is safe and comfortable where she will receive plenty of love, affection and training. Because she is a pup, would love to put her in an environment with a family that has children, if possible, but not a requirement. Shasta is partially crate trained with no issues sleeping or playing in one. However, she does not potty inside, as she will bark to inform you when she needs to go.
