Story
Meet Murphy! A charming six-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently in Austin, TX, whose essence is a lively blend of curiosity and affection wrapped in a handsome tan coat with bright white accents. He is a 65-pound bundle of energy who greets each day with enthusiasm, especially if it includes long walks, open space to run, and the irresistible promise of cheese treats! Murphy is an affectionate boy who truly enjoys being near his people, happily hanging out wherever the action is. He is playful and high energy, with a love for chewing bones, chasing balls, and hopping into the car for an adventure. His curious nature means he likes to explore, though he can be a little cautious when encountering unfamiliar sights or sounds. With patience and gentle encouragement, he grows more confident and relaxed. Murphy thrives in a consistent routine, enjoying twice daily meals, regular walks, and restful nights in his crate. He is house-trained, comes when called, and knows commands like sit, stay, and come, showing his eagerness to learn and connect. He is friendly with other dogs and has done well with a younger pup, making him a wonderful companion for a home with canine friends. Murphy would do well in an active, structured environment with an experienced guardian who understands large, energetic breeds and can provide a secure fenced yard or room to roam. He may even surprise you with his occasional digging adventures and his joyful enthusiasm for life’s simple pleasures. His love for companionship means he appreciates a present and engaged pet parent who can offer guidance, playtime, and plenty of shared moments. With positive reinforcement and continued learning opportunities, Murphy blossoms into a confident, joyful partner ready for daily adventures and quiet evenings alike with his family. Could Murphy be the spirited sidekick who makes your days brighter and your walks a little more exciting? To learn more or welcome him into your family, reach out at adopt@joyfulpets.com! Story
Derby is a 7-month-old sweetheart with the biggest heart and the cutest little nickname — “Derpy.” She is deaf, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit. In fact, it just makes her extra special. Derby is incredibly cuddly and absolutely adores being close to her people. If you’re looking for a snuggle bug, she’s your girl. She gets along beautifully with large dogs, small dogs, cats, and kids — she truly just wants to be everyone’s friend. Despite having a very ruff start in life, Derby is blossoming into the happiest, wiggliest little ray of sunshine. Watching her confidence grow has been such a gift. She can still be a little nervous at times, but with patience and love, she continues to come out of her shell more each day. She’s also the heaviest sleeper you’ll ever meet — once she’s out, she’s out! Derby walks nicely on a leash and is currently working on her potty training (she’s making progress!). She’s learning, growing, and trying her very best every single day. This sweet girl deserves a home filled with love, patience, and cozy cuddle spots. Her perfect family is out there — and when they find her, they’ll wonder how they ever lived without their little Derpy girl. https://bit.ly/codys_adoption_application. ##2660088##

Story
Meet the gentle, loving Shelby. She is between 2-3 years old, weighing 64 lbs. boxer mix with a soft fawn coat. Shelby was rescued under a church along with her five babies. Shelby is very strong, friendly, and discerning. Shelby loves playing with other dogs, attending dog parks and loves walks, except when it's raining and thundering as she gets anxiety. She has not been around cats and currently resides with her three pups and a Lab. Shelby is a very bright dog! As much as she loves playtime with others, she loves relaxing, cuddling, kisses and belly rubs. She loves riding in the car and taking trips. An ideal home for Shelby would be one that is safe and comfortable where she will receive plenty of love, and affection. Shelby is crate trained with no issues sleeping in one. However, she does not potty inside, as she will bark to inform you when she needs to go. Shelby has received the following vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella, One round of DHPP. She is microchipped and will be spayed 06/17/2025. Reason for rehoming: Shelby is currently under temporary care by her rescue family who are unable to keep her permanently. Story
Meet Azucar!Azucar is a 5 year old Bulldog mix looking for a warm home to call her own. She was brought to us as a stray who was overweight and struggling to walk, but still full of love and kisses. She`s now at a healthy weight and happily active (though she prefers to sunbathe instead). Staff has noticed she has previously nursed puppies due to her appearance. Azucar has the perfect mama dog temperament and gets along great with other pups and people, often scolding rowdy puppies when they get too crazy. She`s incredibly patient yet playful with kids of all ages and loves to nudge them with her head. She enjoys fetch with balls and plushies, and chomping down on any yummy snacks. If you`re looking for a loyal, loving, and low energy dog, look no further than Azucar!
