Story
Meet Cosmo! A magnificent two-and-a-half-year-old Domestic Long Hair currently in Houston, TX, whose spirit is pure resilience wrapped in a flowing classic tabby coat. Weighing fourteen pounds, this large and striking boy carries himself with curiosity, intelligence, and a heart that is just learning how beautiful safe love can be. Cosmo is the kind of cat who wants to be involved in everything his pet parent does. Working at your computer? He will gently rest his head on your hand or keyboard as if to say, “I am part of this project too!” Toss his beloved rabbit fur ball and he will send it right back, ready for another round. Bring out a feather wand and watch his athletic excitement shine! Offer fresh catnip leaves and you will see pure feline bliss while he makes biscuits and gives you the biggest purrs. He’s particularly fond of classical music and loves to nap while listening with all four feet up in the air. He is affectionate, vocal, and deeply bonded to his person. He will curl up at your feet while you sleep and sit in your chair with you while you work. Cosmo thrives on direct engagement and mental stimulation. He is incredibly bright and responds wonderfully to positive reinforcement and training sessions. As Cosmo continues settling into life with people, he’s still learning to regulate the rhythms of connection and play. In moments of affection or excitement, he may gently nip as part of his communication, but he’s already making great progress with consistency and guidance. He would be compatible with an experienced, interactive pet parent who values enrichment, structure, and continued learning opportunities. Cosmo will do best with someone patient and attuned who can continue helping him build confidence and feel secure as he grows. He’s the kind of cat who truly blossoms with someone willing to invest in that relationship. He is currently healthy, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Cosmo’s remarkable healing of a fractured sternum injury from his days as a young stray are almost invisible but for a slight balance quirk when he runs. Now, he simply needs the understanding care and safe indoor environment to let his full personality shine brightly. With the support he’s receiving, including medication to help ease his stress, he’s continuing to make meaningful strides. Cosmo would be ideal as the sole pet in the household where he is free to grow his bonds with his pet parents. He’s not quite comfortable sharing his space with other cats just yet, and would do best in a home where he can have the time and space to fully relax and be himself. He is a partner, a companion, and a cat who needs someone willing to actively and thoughtfully nurture his remarkable mind and big heart. If you are ready to welcome a brilliant, devoted boy into your life and invest in a truly engaged relationship, Cosmo is ready for his next chapter! Could your family be the one to help Cosmo continue blossoming into his very best self? To learn more or begin the adoption conversation, please reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com! Story
Meet Butters! A captivating eight-and-a-half-year-old Domestic Short Hair currently living in Bolingbrook, IL, whose small frame is matched only by her enormous personality and expressive brown tabby stripes. Butters is the epitome of a cozy companion cat—charming, vocal, and delightfully quirky! She’s spent most of her days in the comfort of indoor life, with her favorite adventures being supervised porch visits where she breathes in the fresh air and chats animatedly with the local birds and squirrels. Her love for window-gazing is unmatched, especially when there’s a feathered friend fluttering by! This petite lady weighs in at just seven pounds, but don’t let her size fool you—Butters is packed with sass, smarts, and affection. She adores calm, older adults and would flourish in a peaceful home without large dogs, who tend to make her a bit anxious. Calm, gentle children who understand boundaries could be a lovely match for her tender spirit. A relaxed environment with a kindhearted pet parent who understands the value of patience and soft words would be just her style. Butters is a devoted cuddler who will happily curl up on your chest while purring contentedly. She responds when called, enjoys being picked up, and shows her love with endless head rubs and affectionate chatter! She’s also a certified toy enthusiast—especially fond of feathers on sticks, squeaky moving toys, and batting her paws under door cracks. Oh, and toilet paper? Consider it fair game in her eyes! Like many sensitive souls, Butters needs a calm setting to feel her best. Big dog energy has stressed her in the past, leading to some litter box misadventures, but she’s spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and fully litter-trained under the right conditions. She's not a fan of back, belly, or rump rubs—and isn’t shy about swiping gently to remind you—but it’s all part of her sassy charm! If you’re looking for a talkative, playful, and deeply loyal companion who will thrive with your love and patience, Butters might just be your girl! Could your quiet window seat be the next stage for this delightful tabby diva’s cozy adventures? Butters is also open to a foster home, so if you're not ready to adopt but still want to make a difference, fostering could be a perfect fit. Story
Meet Chalky and Rusti! A delightful pair of one-year-old Domestic Shorthairs currently living in Hot Springs, AR, whose days are filled with playful wrestling matches, cozy cuddles, and curious little adventures side by side. Chalky, a charming tabby boy with an adorable white nose and Rusti, his beautiful tabby sister with her soft white accents, is never far behind, weaving around him like a warm breeze. These two have spent their time exploring the great outdoors, lounging on sunny porches, and pouncing on feather toys with their bright, observant eyes! They may be a bit nervous around new faces or sudden sounds, but with patient words, gentle movements, and a few tasty treats, they blossom into affectionate little shadows who meow for attention and rub against your legs with all the love they’ve been waiting to share. Both are incredibly smart, picking up on routines quickly and learning the subtle language of their humans’ kindness and care. You’ll often find them wrestling each other like tiny lions one minute, then curled into a peaceful, purring heap the next. They adore feather toys, dangling ribbons, and any game that lets them use their natural athleticism and quick reflexes! As a bonded pair, they need to remain together, bringing double the joy and warmth into a new loving home ready to let them grow into confident, loving indoor companions. Chalky and Rusti are neutered and spayed, and they’re dreaming of a calm, supportive family who will help them leave behind porch life for sunny window sills, soft beds, and endless chin scratches! Their future pet parents will have the privilege of witnessing their transformation from skittish felines into confident, loving best friends. Could your heart and home be the safe haven where Chalky and Rusti’s story unfolds into a lifetime of snuggles, playful sprints, and gentle purrs? Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com to welcome this clever, affectionate duo into your life today!

Story
Hi! My name is Morgan and I am an experienced foster with the SPCA of Dallas for the last 3 years. I am looking for a home for one of my friends' cats that she surrendered to me before moving out of state. He is a very healthy 1.5-year-old male cat that after some time is spunky, curious, and loving. Within the next month to two months I would like to get him rehomed as I have another cat coming in from family. Name: Jasper Age: 1.5-year-old male- short hair tabby tan (large male) Description- Jasper is a quiet boy who loves cuddles and pets. He is a little skittish and shy at first but once he's comfortable he will chirp and love on you. He is much more confident with another cat around and does well with both male and female cats. He does like to play with feathers, strings and anything that flits around but especially loves cuddling up to you to sleep or sunbathe. He is the sweetest thing and would do so well in a home with an owner who has other cats or a lot of love to give.

Story
Meet Rosie! A vibrant eight-year-old Domestic Short Hair currently in Altus, OK, whose tortoiseshell coat is as bold and beautiful as her personality. Small in size at just seven pounds, Rosie is a lively and affectionate cat who adores chasing feather toys, stalking the elusive red dot of a laser pointer, and chattering at birds and squirrels from her favorite window perch. She also loves to chase cotton swabs and hair ties across the floor and will even sneak them out of drawers to start a game on her own! She’s especially active in the evenings and loves to climb and explore high-up spots! But when the action winds down, Rosie transforms into a world-class cuddler. Snuggling in your lap during the day and curling up behind your knees at night. Rosie has a playful, interactive side and enjoys a game of “tag,” where she will happily chase after you and may lightly nip at ankles in a fun, mischievous way. Rosie is deeply attached to her person and thrives in calm, quiet environments. She’s looking for a new loving home with no other pets and no young children, where she can feel secure. In busy or stressful situations, such as loud noises or unfamiliar animals, Rosie may become anxious. Sometimes vocalizing, marking, or reacting by nipping. She also requires a little extra care during vet visits and takes Gabapentin beforehand to help her feel calm and safe. Spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Rosie is also on a sensitive-stomach diet that helps keep her healthy and happy. In the right setting, she’s an incredibly loyal, playful, and comforting companion who will keep you company through sunny afternoons and cozy nights. Are you ready to welcome Rosie into your home?
