Story
He is s very good dog. He is great with other dogs and great with kids! As much as we want to keep him life have gotten really busy with all of our kids extra curriculars and sports. He is in his kennel more times than not and we hate that for him. He is kennel trained. He needs to be in kennel if your away as he does like to chew on things/eat things, especially kids socks! He has allergies which do cause him to lose some hair on his rear end. We are pretty sure we have narrowed down to a chicken/poultry allergy so have been feeding him lamb food and it has seemed to help alot!

Story
Rebel is my best friend in the world and I love her with all of my heart. I have had her for 8 years and she has been there for me through it all. I am moving out of the country next month and would love to take her with me- but it will not be practical or good for her in the long run. I am hoping to find a home for her where she could have a yard and/or go for walks with someone (she lovvvves walks) and I would be happy to help pay for expenses indefinitely. Rebel loves all people and she is a big cuddler. She has no health problems and is a very happy girl. She gets along with SOME other dogs… but not all. She was attacked by an escaped dog, so she usually gets scared of other dogs at first, and then if she meets them and trusts them, she does okay with them and will even cuddle with them and play. Please let me know if you may be interested in having this sweet girl in your life. Even a temporary foster would be great so I have some more time to find a permanent home. Thank you.

Story
Kinoko means mushroom. She was a stray in St. Louis County rescued by CARE STL. They estimate she was 3 at that time. She's approximately 5 now. She was on a Gabapentin prescription when we first got her to ease the transition. She has been hostile to house guests and needs to be put away when strangers are around. She has mixed results with other dogs so she doesn't go to the dog park. She has lived with a male Maltipoo for 2 years and was hostile at first, but within 24 hours accepted whatever horseplay he tries to do. She is not a bothersome dog. She is content to sit all day in her selected spot. Attempts to move this spot have failed. She barks rarely, when she smells or sees danger. She's been known to cower in the presence of dumptrucks and their associated dumpsters. She needs at least 2 walks a day and even if she refuses to move, is the best way to bond with her. She needs a resilient love and every chance to pet her should be taken even if she sorta turns away.

She never received the care, socialization, or support every dog deserves, but she’s already showing us how much heart she has. Tulip is shy with people, yet she allows gentle handling and will let you pick her up. With patience and kindness, she’s beginning to show curiosity toward the affection she’s getting from our staff and volunteers. Watching her discover that humans can be safe is incredibly rewarding. She is good with other dogs, but we are not totally sure about cats though. She’ll need gentle guidance as she learns about life in a real home — things like housebreaking, normal household noises, and everyday activities such as a dishwasher running or a TV turned on. With time and reassurance, she’ll blossom. At the sanctuary, Tulip is loving her new freedom and the comfort of being with other dogs. She’s sweet, soft‑natured, and has all the potential to become an amazing family member for someone who understands that progress comes in small, beautiful steps. If you’re looking for a tender soul to nurture and celebrate as she grows, Tulip may be the perfect match. * Would do best in a home with no small children Medical Alert: During routine vetting, Tulip was found to be heartworm positive. She is currently receiving medications to slowly kill off the heartworms and is doing very well. Hope Rescues will continue to pay for the medical care associated with the heartworms until she tests negative. Please help us make room to save more homeless pets!!! He’s fun, friendly, and always ready to turn anything into a game. Whether he’s bouncing around with toys or snuggling up for affection, Sgt Pepper brings joy everywhere he goes.
