She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and enjoys being part of a peaceful pack. Lucy has a friendly, easygoing temperament that makes her a wonderful companion for both humans and pets. Whether she is lounging nearby or following you from room to room, she is happiest when she feels included. Hello, my name is Rusty. I’m a breeder release and life is still pretty new and a little overwhelming for me, but with time and kindness, I’m learning what it means to feel safe and loved. I’m shy around people because I didn’t get much socialization early in life. But don’t worry—once I warm up, I become shyly playful, especially with my foster mom. I’m still figuring out this whole “being loved” thing, and patient humans make all the difference. However, I also do not like being without them near, and need someone who is home most of the day. I live with cats and dogs. I can be a little picky with my playmates. I prefer female dogs. My potty training is still a work in progress, but I’m trying my best every day. I am not currently leash trained but working on it. I have not pottied on a leash. Best in a fenced yard. Kids may be too much for me as fast movements scare me. So no kids please. Story

Shorty got his name from his short little stubby legs, and he’s every bit as adorable as you’d imagine. This sweet little Chihuahua spent his life as a breeder dog, so living in a home is still new to him—but he’s doing really well and making steady progress every day. Shorty gets along wonderfully with other dogs and truly needs another dog in the home to help him feel safe and confident. He knows how to use a doggy door to go outside to potty, though he may still have an occasional accident or choose to use a potty pad. Shorty recently had his eye removed due to a non-healing ulcer and also had a dental with several extractions. He has recovered well and is now ready to start his next chapter. Because he is still healing, we have not tried leash walking yet. He is kennel trained, very quiet, and not a barker. Shorty will allow you to pick him up if you gently corner him and say “stop” or “wait,” and he will sit with you for short periods, though he doesn’t yet come to you asking to be picked up. With patience, kindness, and routine, he continues to grow more comfortable each day. Shorty would do best in a calm, quiet home with another dog and a secure fenced yard. His journey is just beginning, and he’s looking for a loving home to continue helping him feel safe and loved. Adoption fee is $350 plus tax. Apply to adopt at CampCompanion.org 🐾
