Story
***Kallie is BONDED to Koko and they NEED to be adopted together***Meet Our Gentle Giants (Kallie and Koko)These two big-hearted best friends are searching for a soft place to land — together. After spending their lives side by side, they share an unbreakable bond filled with quiet comfort and shared naps. Both pups are large in size but even larger in love. They’re calm, affectionate, and happiest lounging near their people. Unfortunately these two girls have ongoing medical needs, they’re looking for a special adopter with an even more special heart. They both have Hypothyroidism which can cause poor hair coats and excessive weight gain. Their condition is manageable with routine care, medication, and regular vet visits — and in return, they offer unmatched devotion, gratitude, and companionship. They don’t need marathon hikes or endless activity; short strolls, cozy bedding, and steady love are their speed. They would thrive in a quiet home where they can stay together, soak up affection, and enjoy their years in comfort. If you believe that love multiplies — not divides — when you open your home to two, these gentle souls are ready to give you their whole world.Adopting them means embracing a journey of compassion, but it also means gaining two loyal shadows who will remind you every day that the deepest bonds are the ones worth holding onto.Could you be their forever home?Adoption fee for the pair is $400 + $30 microchip fee (each) + tax

Story
Meet Bear, a young Great Pyrenees with a big personality to match his big paws! This handsome boy is equal parts lovable guardian, independent thinker, and full-time adventure seeker.Bear is what you might call an “escape artist extraordinaire.” Got a fence? He’ll study it. Got a gate? He’ll test it. He’s clever, determined, and always curious about what’s happening on the other side. True to his Pyrenees nature, Bear likes to make his own decisions—and sometimes that includes deciding the grass is greener somewhere else!Stubborn? Absolutely. But it comes with the territory. Bear is intelligent and strong-willed, which means he’ll thrive with a confident, patient owner who understands the independent guardian breed mindset. Consistent training, secure fencing, and plenty of mental and physical stimulation will help him channel his smarts in the right direction.Underneath that determined exterior is a loyal, affectionate boy who bonds deeply with his people. He loves being part of the family, keeping watch over his home, and soaking up attention when he’s in the mood (which is often, on his terms of course).Bear is looking for a home that appreciates his protective instincts, respects his independent spirit, and is ready to embrace life with a big, fluffy character. If you’ve got a secure yard, a sense of humor, and room in your heart for a stubborn sweetheart, Bear might just be your perfect match!Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Meet Peter!Peter came to us recently from a southern rescue partner. He spent some time in a foster home while receiving some vet care and when he was ready, he made the long trek to PCHS in hopes of finding his forever home. Peter is an athletic dog that has a lot of energy. He would do well with an active family that can take him on adventures with them. He seems to enjoy being around people and spending time outside in our yards. He is not a fan of the kennel or smaller spaces, so he would likely prefer to be a free roaming dog in his forever home. If you are looking for a loyal companion to take on adventures this summer, look no further and apply on Peter today!Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Maple is a 2.5-year-old French Brittany who packs a whole lot of charm into her perfect 25-pound frame. Her foster family lovingly calls her “Meatball,” and honestly…it fits. She’s adorable, goofy, snuggly, and absolutely devoted to her people. Maple LOVES car rides, plush toys, and curling up next to you for belly rubs. She didn’t get much freedom or enrichment in her early life and likely spent most of her time in a kennel, so she came to us needing a refresher on potty training and some basic house habits. She’s made steady progress but still needs a patient family willing to keep her routine consistent. She can be a bit curious and may check out items that aren’t technically “hers,” so keeping tempting things out of reach and offering plenty of dog-safe toys will set her up for success. Maple does well in her kennel when her people are out of the house. She may give a little protest bark at first (she just has to make sure you know she has notes), but she settles down and rests quietly once she realizes she’s safe. Maple is not a dog that can live with or closely interact with other dogs. Through training, she has made progress in calmly seeing dogs at a distance with positive reinforcement, but pushing those interactions too quickly can cause anxiety for her. For her comfort and safety, she must be an only dog, and a fenced-in yard (ideally privacy fenced) would suit her best so she can explore and enjoy the outdoors stress-free. She’s playful, affectionate, and incredibly people-oriented. Maple has mastered “sit", and is working on more tricks, but needs a little patience since she isn’t very food motivated. Maple is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Now she’s just waiting for a family who sees how special she is and can give her the structure, love, and dog-free home she deserves. Maple is currently in foster care in Wisconsin and has an adoption donation fee of $400.  If you are interested in adopting her and have been approved to adopt, let your state coordinator know you are interested in her.  If you haven’t yet done so, please go to: https://www.nbran.org/adopt/adoption-application to fill out an application.  Your state coordinator will contact you and take you through the approval process.  If your application looks like a possible fit for her, your coordinator will contact Maple’s coordinator and continue the screening process. Maple’s state coordinator is Hallie Barbara. She can be reached at Minnesotabrittany@gmail.com for questions or inquires.   Thank you for considering this sweet girl.  March 7, 2026, 3:26 pm

Story
Meet our sweet boy, Quill.Quill is a big-hearted Mastiff mix with an even bigger personality. Built like a tank but soft as a marshmallow, Quill has easily won over the hearts of PCHS staff and volunteers.Quill came to PCHS from a reservation when he was found emaciated. He was covered in porcupine quills and looking very defeated about his life choices. Regardless, Quill handled the whole ordeal with remarkable patience and bravery. Even at his plethora of vet visits vet, you could always find his tail thumping gently as he seemed more concerned about making friends than about his prickly predicament. The experience hasn’t changed his sweet nature one bit. He still greets everyone with slow, happy tail wags and soulful eyes, leaning his full weight into you for hugs like it’s his full-time job. Quill may have learned that some woodland creatures aren’t cuddle material, but he remains the gentlest, most loving boy around—a resilient, tender-hearted giant who proves that even the toughest-looking dogs can be pure sugar inside. If you think Quill would make a good addition to your home, apply for this sweet boy today!Adoption fee is $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax

Story
Meet Chet, a 45-pound bundle of energy and heart who’s been on the mend since he arrived just last week in poor body condition after being rescued from impound, but you’d never guess it by watching him now. With good care and a full belly, Chet has already gained five pounds and is feeling stronger every day.I took him out in the yard today and watched him quickly turn into a total speed demon. He loves to run, zooming around in joyful circles like a little race car, stretching his legs and celebrating his second chance. ? He tired out pretty quickly from that burst of energy and was ready to go back in.Easy does it as they say..Chet is a very friendly boy who enjoys being around people and will no doubt keep building his strength and confidence and he’s sure to bring a lot of fun and love to the lucky home that welcomes him. You can see all his pictures via the YouTube video next to his picture gallery.$350 adoption fee plus $30 microchip fee plus tax
